You know I would like to get a read from referees from football and basketball to determine what is harder to officiate. Basketball referees seem really malleable and susceptible to outside influences whereas the nfl refs do not.
I'm sort of thinking that because the NFL refs are NOT full-time that they do a lot better job. I don't know if the college refs are the same.
I do think that basketball is hard to call, at least it is from my seat in the arena, , but they seem to really be inconsistent.
And as a reply, it was an ubelievable call late in the game, when everyone says "the refs swallow their whistle late in the game". No wonder players gripe about the officials, who KNOWS what they will call.
