Maybe Nick is just tanking it on purpose to help the team. He knows like us that he has to play absolutely horrible for Nellie not to play small ball in the clutch.

Well we better hope not, because the mavericks team that played last night will get their butt kicked tonight against utah.

Anybody get the idea that BS call against Finley at the end was called because of pressure by the fans? The fans were chanting somthing about the officials late in the game. That one official lost his head and let the crowd persuade him in to calling that foul on Finley. That had to be one of the worst calls in a while.

You know I would like to get a read from referees from football and basketball to determine what is harder to officiate. Basketball referees seem really malleable and susceptible to outside influences whereas the nfl refs do not.

I'm sort of thinking that because the NFL refs are NOT full-time that they do a lot better job. I don't know if the college refs are the same.

I do think that basketball is hard to call, at least it is from my seat in the arena, , but they seem to really be inconsistent.

And as a reply, it was an ubelievable call late in the game, when everyone says "the refs swallow their whistle late in the game". No wonder players gripe about the officials, who KNOWS what they will call.

Dude I think one of the big difference between NFL and NBA refs are their egos. NBA refs by far have the largest egos. The other factor is how close the refs in the NBA are to the coaches and to fans. I'm sure this has a big effect. But most of the NBA refs, especially the ones with long tenure, have developed excessively large egos. Steve Javie is a prime example. The NBA refs are also whistle happy on technical fouls. A look can get you a tech. It all comes down to the refs having over enlarged egos IMO.

Aexchange is a control freak. He MAY be a socialist, he cannot allow the free-flow of ideas to determine where a thread should be.
