Well that's that. Glad it's over with. Now we can all move on and look forward to assembling one of the best teams in Dallas Mavericks history this off-season. It's all or nothing time.

NBA, where 6-24= MVP.
Gasol was a bigger factor.

Oh man. I'm gonna hear it at work. All my co-workers say Gasol >>> Dirk.
Tomorrow's gonna be a rough one.

I thought Artest was the player of the game. His defense is as advertised. That three he hit at the end was pretty amazing.

If you put Dirk on that team instead of Gasol it would have been Lakers in 4 or 5.

Yep, I do believe so. Ammo is so awkward to watch on the bench. He just doesn't fit in at all. He looks so apathetic too.

Anyways I still think it was a great series, very intense. Too bad it had to end like this.
Artest was probably the real MVP, but he doesn´t sell so... in Kobes defense today when he realised his shot was of he concentrated on crashing the boards and certainly did a great job with that.

At the end he jackup up a horrible hero three trying to dagger the game and Gasol bailed him out....

Absolutely. But remember, I'm on the east coast where the media views not only the Mavericks, but Dirk as a choke artist. I can bring up all the stats I want but they don't want to hear it. I've learned to nod my head and laugh, but tomorrow there are gonna be some Diggler bashin' going on.. I'm gonna have to keep my Dirk uniform with me for uber strength.

at the end? he did that the whole game, did you see some of those shots? if he didn't get bailed out by a rebound it would be the refs to bail him out like that foul on that three pointer when he initiated the contact with ray allen who was just trying to get out of the way

Yeah, Garnett should be ashamed that Kobe outrebounded him by 12 tonight. Garnett was one of the few people who was effective on the offensive end tonight, but you could argue that he lost the game for the Celtics with his terrible night on the boards.

The game was pretty much lost for Boston before the 4th quarter when the fouls started mounting up. They lost any kind of rhythm on offense they had and the Lakers D started to crank it up in the 3rd and was air-tight in the 4th. Boston did have some silly fouls in the 4th and got in the penalty with just under 7 minutes left, but they were gonna get there one way or another because they got overboard with the physicality.

Best scene was when Kobe dribbled the clock down and passed it to Gasol with 3-4 secs left and Gasol just flopping his arms up against Wallace for the foul...

*BREAKING NEWS*
In the Lakers locker room after the game, David Stern awarded Phil Jackson the 2010-2011 Championship trophy in advance. This is the first time in NBA history that a season has ended before it has begun. All NBA players will play in different sports leagues from now through June 2011.
Ron Artest has already signed a one year contract to play for the Philadelphia Flyers. Moments after signing his contract with Philly, Rasheed Wallace signed one with the New Jersey Devils.
Kobe Bryant is leaning towards a commitment to the San Diego Chargers. Details are limited at this time.
Paul Pierce says he will join the USA soccer team in South Africa. "There's a lot of good diving competition, but I feel like I'm up to the task."
Adam Morrison is prepared to sign with the Spokane Shock of the Arena Football League. When asked for a comment, Morrison replied, "The bench is a little bit longer in Spokane, so I'll have a little more space."
Nate Robinson expressed an interest in joining the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA. "I feel like it will be good competition playing against people my size."
Glen Davis will play for the New England Patriots as a linebacker. He has already guaranteed he will lead the NFL in tackles next season.
Brian Scalabrine signed a minimum contract with the Red Sox. But after seeing him play, Boston will designate him to AA assignment with the Portland Sea Dogs.
Luke Walton and Jordan Farmar go to a night club in Compton to discuss their future plans, and are never seen or heard from again.
Sasha Vujacic went the same route as Robinson and joined the WNBA's LA Sparks. His first shot in the league will be blocked, and he will retire in a post game ceremony attended by three people: the camera guy, the producer, and the reporter.
Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett signed identical contracts with the Minnesota Twins, one as a pitcher, the other, a catcher.
Pau Gasol will join the Los Angeles Kings. "No puedo patinar."
Rajon Rondo has been offered contracts from several teams, but has passed on them all.
Derek Fisher was elated to get interest from the Los Angeles Galaxy of the MLS. He immediately joined the team as its newest member, taking .4 as his jersey number.
DJ Mbenga will join the UFC and compete in UFC 116. He will face the Brock Lesnar-Shane Carwin winner.
Stay tuned for more updates as they come in.

Joey and Danny Crawford better not step foot in Boston after the way they called the 4th quarter in favor of the Lakers.
I'm not suprised because I expected this as soon as I seen who would be calling the game.

While watching that game last night, I realized pretty quickly that if the Mavs had faced the Lakers or Celtics in a playoff series, they would have quickly wilted through the no call/inconsistent choke defense that both teams displayed. The Mavs just don't have the will/emotional/mental fortitude to overcome such a war. I think Cuban should make one more run to bring in talent during this off-season, and if by trade deadline the Mavs look pretty inept, then he should begin trading all of the big talent remaining, including Dirk, and just start over...

Mavs would have been down 30 with these officials.

Oddly enough, having a salary cap and a draft system the way it is with the worst teams getting the best picks, that's already intended to spread the quality around and avoid a monopol. In other sports without a salary cap, the richest teams are always among the best teams due to being able to pay higher salaries. The NBA is quite good in that respect. However, in both sports, a club's reputation is important as well and the Lakers are an interesting team to be on for any player just because of their legacy. That's what keeps the Knicks in the running for Lebron. It's impossible to fix that--fixing the bad officiating would be easier, and that's already quite the task.

Laker "Fans" show their appreciation by torching the city, rioting, beating a man unconscious, and breaking windows.

I really did not care who won because it was not the Mavs. It was a fun game to watch though, and Ron Artest thanking his hood and his psychiatrists was funny

I seriously believe our team this year could have beat the Lakers in a 7-game series. We had three 7'0s to match up with the Lakers inside. We had Marion (and possibly Butler & Stevenson) to guard Kobe. Plus Roddy could have ran circles around Fisher (if Carlisle ever decided to play him). Also the best person they can put on Dirk is Odom - and Dirk can even shoot over him. IMO, Dallas was a team the Lakers were lucky to avoid....

No kidding. As is the NBA fixed this series BS. It lessens what happened to the Mavs in 06 when people claim that every game that doesn't favor their team is fixed.
If the NBA favored the Lakers, then why did Boston beat them two years ago in the finals? Did the NBA change favorites?
