I'd actually take The Odd Couple over St. Elsewhere. I think it's a more consistent album.
And I'd put "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" and "Neighbors" up against any two songs on St. Elsewhere.
But that's just me, music hits different people in different ways.

Check this out, I'm gonna go old school on you, I went to a bar this saturday and they had Karaoke going on, but it really reminded me of a few old songs:
Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon (Sung by yours truly, this was the Urge Overkill version)
Mr. Roboto - Styx
Just Got Wicked - Cold (Yes, someone sung that........ and I was singing it along)
At A Medium Pace - Adam Sandler (Completely forgot about that, hilarious)
Enjoy The Silence - Depeche Mode
Two Princes - Spin Doctors (If you, want to call me baby, just go ahead now!)

Looking for ambient trip hop sounds, something that sets the mood right. The likes of Morcheeba, Dj Shadow, ATCQ, Diggable Planets, Zero 7, or even Baduh. Any suggestions?
And also a little bit of house music too. Thanks in advance.

Just picked up Vince Gill's 4-CD box set "These Days"
Pretty good so far. Most people who know him, know he's a great singer... but he's an AWESOME guitar player too.

got the new panic.. I know most people don't like them, but I liked the first CD. Haven't had a chance to listen to this one all the way through yet but it sounds like some of the songs are different.

I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but every time I listen to 3+ songs of Vampire Weekend I get a really bad headache. Which sucks because I like them a lot.

First off, I must say that, after about 10 listens, I'm finally figuring out why everyone (including 'Chaff) was raving about The National's "Boxer". Even after numerous visits, every single listen has been more enjoyable than the last. It's an utterly devastating album that slowly reveals itself each time you spin it. This really is one of those albums that only gives back as much as you put into it - if you're patient with it, the return on investment is all the more satisfying.
The National - Boxer
Oh No! Oh My! - Oh No! Oh My! (from Austin)
El Gato - Everybody's a Pinata EP (from Dallas)
Micah P. Hinson - ...and the Gospel of Progress (from Abilene)
Pseudosix - Days of Delay

Waking the Fallen by Avenged Sevenfold is an amazing album. I don't know if you guys would like the heavier stuff, but I saw them live last week at Nokia and they blew me away.

That's quite a claim, considering Dummy was one of the more influential albums of the 90s - I'm gonna have to give their new one a listen based on that endorsement...

Come on...it's nowhere near as good as dummy obviously. You are right...Dummy was played in every store, restaurant, and public space in NYC in the 90s (I didn't lvie there but my brother did and visited him a lot). They pretty much define good lounge music. Dummy by far one of my top ten fav albums of all time.
It's really good but not great....gave it a few listens and liked it less after the first time. Considering it's been 11 years since an album though, definitely worth a hear.

Yeah, I think I'll check it out anyway - I've never heard a Portishead song I DIDN'T like, so it should still be pretty good, even if it sucks compared to their other albums...

Yeah, frankly, I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't like Portishead. It is MOST definitely better then their last album IMO.

Well I was talking about just Ben.. not necessarily the people that play with him. There aren't many voices I dislike more than Ben Folds'.

Haha, yea I do like Ben Folds Five stuff more for the instrumentals than the singing. Then again, my voice sucks too so it's not too wrong to sing along.
