I've only listened to the first couple songs... sounds a lot like vampire weekend so far. (vocally)

woah...that dude has written some seriously wonderful songs. What is it about his voice that you dislike so much? I think his voice has a very "everyman" quality that I personally really like.

I don't listen to music so I can hear an everyman kind of voice. Just like I don't watch basketball on tv to see everyman basketball skills.

Yeah I think that "everyman" voice has altered into an annoying whine these days. That really isn't my type of music though anyway.

Let's say I were in a position to say, that the new 3 Doors Down CD is pretty solid. If you like them. Which I do. A lot.
I would say that it is.
Not that I have it , because it isn't out yet.

John Cusak's character in Hi-Fidelity sold a copy of Beta Band's "newest single" to every person in his record store - I was sold on them too...

Watch as Jay Z jams to Coldplay:

I saw Coldplay last night in Vegas. I have never been much of a fan... indifference on my part... but they put on a really really great show last night. I was very pleased.

I'm currently listening to a home recording of one of the concerts of a group called Denver, Boise, and Johnson. This particularly group was an incarnation of the much more well-known Chad Mitchell (and Mitchell) Trio. When Mike Kobluk left the Mitchell Trio in 1967 they lost the rights to the name, and when Michael Johnson (of "Bluer Than Blue" fame) joined John Denver and David Boise, they become Denver, Boise, and Johnson. They broke up in November of 1968. John Denver's first solo album came out the next year.
It's a very good concert - good harmonies and some really funny and moving songs. I don't know why they didn't go farther than they did.

Oh yeah...a band named "shearwater" played before Coldplay last night.
worst. band. ever...... ever. Like so many things from Austin, it sucked complete arse.
Here's a hint. It's 2008. Don't open your set with a banjo and a mic that sounds scratchier than my uncle matt after a pack of smokes. Also, I'm pretty sure the drummer was a yeti. Terrible.
