Shouldn't we have a german speaking sub forum for all our german poster friends? Just a suggestion.

If I had it my way it would be 50 posts, or 100 rep points or something like that.
But I guess that wouldn't be very inviting for new members, now would it?

lol...But how are we supposed to maintain the community without any new members?
I don't remember my inauspicious start too well, but I think I started a thread pretty early on and (unrelated) drbio and maleDan gave me quite a bit of negative rep to start me off bc everyone was mad about a playoff game.

My very first post on this board was posting an article that had already been posted, and U2 summarily closed it and chastized me.
Ok he didn't really chastize me, but he noted that the article had already been posted.

I think my first post was on the day of the Finley resigning for $100 mil. I don't exactly know how I remember that.
I've never been much of a thread-starter though, even currently as one the board's grizzled vets.

My first thread I´ve posted was about 4 month after I registered as a member here! I have "only" started 110 new threads till now, despite a post count of 3237.
From all appearances, some members and especially those who always start new threads, are only interested to post but not to read.
So maybe it would be a good idea to adopt some kind of "qualifying period" (about 2 month) in addition to the post minimum, in which the new member only is allowed to post in existing threads?

I have almost 6,000 posts and have started only 55 threads.
That seems rather remarkable. I need a bigger ego I think, need to make sure my voice gets heard.

I have no problem, if it is an informative or interesting and discussion worthy thread.
I don´t like it, if someone repeatedly starts double posts, only because he/she doesn´t want (is to lazy) to read the existing threads. It is making the board confusing with an overload of threads and also shows the disrespect for the other posters, respectively the unwillingness to read.

Only 17 thread starts here on 3058 posts. Strangely enough, half of them were started before I probably hit the 500 post mark. For some reason, I just don't see much reason to start threads.

I've only started 18 threads, but about 1/3 of them are Cowboys GDTs (my first & last Mavs GDT was Game 1 against Golden State... Sorry!)

You've started 9 threads in 154 posts.
On an unrelated note, I've started 16 in 3731 posts.

9 completely useless threads - most of them were reposts of already-existing threads and the rest were hate threads...

As an even newer member of d-m.com, I find it pretty funny to think of newbie Flacolaco getting curbstomped by rep heavyweights Drbio and Male26Dan for starting a thread.

I rarely start threads...early on I ran the OVER/UNDERs...so that is where most of my threads come from...
thread starting is way overrated.

I seem to recall bits and pieces of that episode, and I don't think it's true that I was pissed you called me "chummy." I think I was just testing your mettle, so to speak. You had a lot of vim and vinegar in the early going, which was cool. Too bad you went and got lazy!
On another note, I think the recent problems with epic fail threads around here is probably directly attributable to my finding Jesus when it comes to the Mavs and relinquishing the role of contrarian. No one left to fill those shoes but amateurs...

Why would anyone ignore FFO? I cannot recall any direct questions from him that I didn't answer.
I've never used the ignore feature, and I can't think of a good reason to do so.

I've never used the ignore feature but, I'm about two posts from ignoring Flaco, the only thing that keeps me from that is that I know when he pulls his negativity from his ass I'll want to hear what he has to say
Also if I ignored Chum I'd completely forget Doc.

ah, well good to know. I remember a couple questions I asked, but things can get buried quickly when a forum is as active as this one is.
