Yeah, okay. I guess I didn't watch Pau get shutdown all game only to have his way with Eddie.

No, he hasn't been junk. Not even close. Obviously against the bigger teams like LA and Orlando he's a terrible matchup, but he hasn't been bad by any stretch as an emergency undersized center. There's absolutely no chance Humphries could have stepped in and provided what Eddie provided in that role over the past week+.

Good for JJ, he's playing like a pretty legit PG tonight. They milked the two man screen and roll game with Marion for a while. He's pushing the ball as well, and when he attacks, he's dishing it to the open man.

Like I said, it's not his fault he had to be thrust into center. BUT, he really really really hurts us against bigger guys. The LA & Orlando games he was terrible. Junk is a bit of hyperbole, as a 5 mpg situational guy he can be good. That said, I don't see how he's been anywhere near as effective as Hump (saying something). I've only seen one game where Najera has a discernibly positive impact.

Dirk is good. I like Terry's passing A LOT. No reason he can't play backup PG some.

And at what point did Hump have anything resembling a positive impact for us?
There's absolutely no way Hump would have fit into this defense and provided what Eddie provided as an emergency center. He's just not that type of player.
I'm not saying Eddie is a better all around player, but for this team he's closer to what it needed as an emergency/mobile center than Hump was/is.
Oh, and go Mavs.

Little disappointed with the defense. Great first half though--very impressed.

Meh. Like I said, I wasn't a huge Hump fan, but his defensive rebounding is better, and he's not as big a liability of guys like Pau/West/D12.
Najera has looked pretty awful as a backup center against anyone with serviceable size/ post game.
It's a moot point, he won't be seeing any playoff burn if Damp is healthy.
I do think Najera is a better fit as a spot guy at the backup 4. Not the 5 though.

Great first half with lots of rest for J-Kidd. Love it.
Collison is a terrific rookie point guard. As said before, the Hornets could indeed package him with someone like Peja in the offseason and get much better in the process. Not to mention that they should get a lottery pick. Things could be worse for them.

Very nice first half. Only our defense could have been a bit better though.

Need to see some Roddy in the second half. Heck we might even get a Von Wafer appearance.

What a half!!!
19 point lead is great. But like LD mentioned, wish the defense would been a little better and held them below 50. Going to have to step it up in the 2nd half to make sure we keep that "opponent below 100" streak going. (I don't count the Atlanta game since they got thier 103 in OT)
Go Mavs!!!

JJB is playing well tonight. This is the JJ I want to see. He isn't forcing anything. He has only 2 FGA and he has 8 assists with only 1 turnover!!! Keep it up JJ!
