It's very hard to argue that this years spurs weren't as good as 03 at all imo. As pointed out this years team won the most in their history.

Completely agree. I would also contend that the Spurs team we played in the playoffs was significantly better than the team that broke their franchise record for wins during the regular season. The reason for that is I will swear on anything you hand me that I have never, ever seen Tim Duncan play better basketball than that 7 game series last season.

I bet if Timmy had David Robinson from a few years playing alongside him, he wouldn't have been running on empty by the end of Game Seven.
Instead he had Rasho and Nazr. Not quite the same!

He had a David Robinson who was running on fumes the entire year. He also had a Tony Parker who hadn't quite figured it out yet, as opposed to the All-Star that we saw this year.

not to kill this mavs love fest and this nostaligic movement we got going on
but the spurs were not close to 100% health wise last year, yes?
with that being said, injuries are a part of a game and we beat those punks fair and square.. what a series it was.. maybe top 5 of all time? people underestimate how big that layup is in terms of most clutch plays in nba history..
like i said before
it is championship or bust....

The spurs WERE 100% last year when they played the mavs. The only thing i could see would be someone mentioning but manu but he was healthy he just played poorly. Duncan was CLEARLY healthy and played arguably the best series hes ever played. The mavs took the spurs best shot. If anyone was less healthy it would be dallas because dirk had a bad wheel for part of the series and its not health related but jason terry missed a game as well.

One of these teams will drop off of the map ala Houston last year:
San Antonia
Dallas
Penix
Fakers
Clip arse
PornoWolves
Sprockets
Gonads
Suckramento
Russian National Team in Utah
I'd bet against the Sprockets and the Pornowolves to suck it up like they did last year.
My pick for disappearing team in 2006-2007. The Clip arse

Brand, Maggette and Cassell are pretty marketable though.
Just think about all the money they could make marketing him to the other aliens. You cant tell me that Sike wouldnt be more persuaded to buy something if a fellow alien such as cassell endorsed it rather than an earthling like wade.

You're right forget about Earth, Casell could be marketed to the Cosmos! Just think about all of em' in Area 51, The Bermuda Triangle, on the Darkside of the Moon, and in San Francisco. Crap that's almost the population of Bangladesh and Turkestan when you add them all together...
WAKE up Stern, you friggin moron!

Here is an interview post from lmf about nellie. I must admit the line that did stick out as pure nellie was this. As posted by flamethrower.

Q: Do you think you need a true center to win in the NBA these days?
NELSON: Oh, they’re good to have. I’m always looking for them. I just haven’t found many of them. Good ones.
Yep, that's our Nellie. :lol

Well, let's look at that realistically. In Milwaukee he had Bob Lanier. The guy was on the downside of his career, though he did return to All-Star form under Nellie after a three-year absence. In Golden State he had...well, nobody. New York was an aborted experiment. And in Dallas he had Shawn Bradley. Though I often wished Nellie would get more minutes out of Bradley, the fact remains that Bradley was a tremendously productive player for the Big Don when he did find the hardwood, and I will give the old coach the benefit of the doubt that he squeezed as much out of the center's strengths as he could while at the same time minimizing his weaknesses. (Remember that the vast majority of Nellie's years here, the behemoth Shaq was dominating the conference.)
I don't know, you tell me. Did Nellie really ever have a force there?
