Exactly. They are good friends who are getting the chance to play together. They have to be thrilled right now all things considered.

Agreed, but with Cuban wanting to keep available to him the ability to chase the high end free agents, something had to be sacrificed and it was just that, continuity. When he struck out in FA, we lost a year. In addition, putting together solid drafts......Hopefully Justin Anderson is the start of a good string of draft picks that can earn productive roles on the team from their rookie season on.

Listened to half of this interview on my way home today. As cocky Parsons can be, I'm pretty pumped about his attitude and his relationship with DAJ and Wes. It makes it seem like the chemistry will be great with this Big 3 and Dirk. No more has-been headcases and screwing up the locker room.

Stephen A. Smith thinks that Deandre is "a complete fool" for leaving LA and going to Dallas. "It may go down as one of the stupidest moves in NBA history." This guy here lol.

ESPN (Marc Stein) is reporting that Cuban has been fined $25k for publicly discussing Mavs' looming deals w/D.J. and Wes

I haven't heard one media member think this was a good move for jordan. Everyone is dogging him. As if a lob can only be orchestrated by Chris paul.

I haven't heard many national sports reporters praising the move for DAJ or anything, but most of the analysts I trust on basketball twitter seem to think he's going to be just fine and that this core has the potential to be together for close to a decade.

I don't think those knuckleheads see the whole picture:
A - He wants to be the main man or one of the main men.
B - He wants to play with players he actually likes.
C - He wants to move to Texas.
D - Cuban is one of the best owners in all of sports.
E - He has a great relationship with Parsons and is the same age.
F - He gets to play with Dirk.
G - He'll get the money back through the savings of taxes and when he signs his next deal...especially when the cap goes up.
H - If anyone can improve his shot it will be Holger.
I - One of the best medical staffs in all of basketball (to preserve him).

All of this combined with the fact DJ doesn't like Chris Paul and the Clippers being an old team made his choice a no brainer IMO.

He's pretty tight with Chris Paul so I'm sure he's blinded by that. Kobe rubs his teammates the wrong way but he's damn sure earned the ears of his teammates. Paul hasn't won anything so he doesn't exactly have the standing to bark at teammates constantly

If anything, all of the media talk about him being crazy for leaving LA has to be a huge chip on his shoulder. We are going to get a very happy and eager Deandre Jordan next season (which is probably going to be a scary thing for opponents).

DeAndre seems like the joking around type of guy. I don't mind that. As long as he is a monster on the court. I want a serious, attack on site Dallas Mavericks team. No bullshit.

Here's a great example of the way the national media seems to view DeAndre's decision to come to Dallas.
Chris Paul and Doc Rivers made DeAndre everything he is.
Parsons and Matthews are just role players.
J.J. Barea is short.
Hollywood is awesome and only an idiot would leave there.
Without Paul and Griffin, DeAndre is JaVale McGee.
Blah, blah, blah.

I've also seen the opposite take.

That being said only one way to find out. This is as excited for a Mavs season as I've ever been.

I remember a lot of media blasted Harden for leaving OKC to go be "the man". A lot of people suggested that Durant and Westbrook were the reason he was so successful and that he wasn't "the man" type material. While I think aspects of his game are garbage (flopping and lack of D), he was high in the mix for MVP this season. I look at the situation with Jordan to be similar. If he makes the most of the opportunity like Harden, I see many of these morons in the media being proved wrong. And as Mavs fans, we damn sure hope that's the case.

Wtf is going on. Marc Stein tweet saying story going online now. LA is lobbying to keep DJ in LA and not joining dallas. How pathetic and embarrassing.

If this somehow went down, DJ would instantly become the most hated player on the most hated team for Mavs fans.
Other than Rondo of course.

Reports say that even after verbal agreement he's still torn and unsure about the decision he made.

I don't buy that. I believe he's torn because it was a tough decision but Broussard can suck a dick.

Tomorrow.
Spears says he's having second thoughts and now Griffin and potentially Paul are meeting or talking with him.
