I can't tell if you're replying to my post or just commenting on Jericho on your own. But I agree - FF is reminding me a lot of Jericho (see my post above). But i stuck with Jericho through all of its episodes (complaining the whole time ).

I was mostly agreeing with you..except that I actually liked Jericho a little bit more than you probably did.. although the end of season two was a bit off. But, I think it kinda came to a point to where they were trying to wrap some things up as quickly as possible because they knew it was the end of the line.
The black guy in that show was the absolute worst actor in the history of life.

Our baby is due in 10 days. I have 10 episodes of The Wire left (season 5). I need to finish before the world gets turned upside down.

The TV season might be rescued yet...
Quote:
It’s good news (for me), bad news (for NBC): Since its numbers are down and its new and returning shows are mainly DOA (Southland was axed before new episodes even aired!), Chuck’s third season might get to premiere sooner than the March date that’s been bandied about thus far.
“How much sooner” you ask?
As early as late October, my moles tell me. And while it remains unclear whether the little show that could (and has and shall again) would return to its Monday timeslot or find itself a new perch, NBC insiders who’ve seen the first four episodes are calling this season the best yet.
But wait, there’s more. If Chuck does come back sooner rather than later, the chances of NBC ordering additional episodes beyond the 13 it initially commissioned increases dramatically.

NBC is killing themselves by having to air Jay Leno every night. That is certainly good news about Chuck though.

Chuck is the most consistent show on television in my opinion. It is consistently solid every freaking week. Yeah, sure there are some absolutely great episodes..and then a few that are just solid. But you go in every week knowing that you're going to be entertained and not disappointed.

They're killing themselves in the ratings, but they're still making money because the show is so cheap.

Ah...season 5. I had such a love/hate relationship with that season. I spent the entire time loving most of the story lines and being made completely insane by one.

I wasn't disgusted by the act... but by the action. I'll reserve my opinions until you are through. Because I don't want to give anything away. Just keep watching.

So, flash forward last week. The "black dude" sub plot was both ridiculous and interesting. Interesting in that it made me question the validity of the visions (maybe some people were dreaming), and ridiculous in that it used a rare disease to verify the guy's vision. That was way too grey's anatomy for me.

Yeah, that was weird. I spent half of that show thinking that they were going to break continuity with the flashes...which of course is kind of the whole deal. It's the same thing as season 5 of LOST: Can they change what they saw? Or is what they saw happening because of...err...what they saw?

For a show that's basically already canceled, tonight's Dollhouse was really, really top notch. Seriously. Very excellent showing by those writers (and even the actors too)

Did anyone watch Castle from Monday? That was an awesome beginning.... Nathan Fillion dressed as a "space cowboy" (in his old Mal Reynolds getup) and his daughter telling him "wasn't that from like 5 years ago? get over it". Awesome. He even had his brown coat on.

Damn, are you serious?
I've never really watched an episode of that show but I have got to see that, because Mal Reynolds is the "Sheeeeeeeeeeeeit" as Clay Davis would say.

Two programming notes for me:
The first episode of White Collar was really good.
For my current down time killer I am very slowly watching Homicide: Life on the Streets. For those that don't know this was kind of the big brother of The Wire. It was also based on a book by David Simon and he was involved with the show (although not to the extent of the The Wire). It's also set (and shot) in Baltimore, and it's also a very realistic look at police life.
It's very, very dated at this point. The cars are comically old, no one has cell phones. It's bizarre. And a lot of the pioneering they did in videography (like using hand held cameras) has now been done so much that it seems commonplace.
But it's still pretty quality, I think. Certainly nothing on par with The Wire, but it's been worth my time so far.

I tried to watch Homicide last summer but didn't make it past the first few episodes. Like you said it's really dated and I couldn't fight through it. The hair the chlothes, just the overall feel of the show. I probably missed out on a quality program. I know Dan is really high on it.

I need to watch the pilot of White Collar. heard good things, and I have it recorded.
Community is still clicking with me. I have LOVED the past 2 episodes.
Flash Forward is quickly declining. The number of eye-roll moments is getting to me. The "quick! Look up the crow population numbers of somalia" scene, for example. And the ending to last week's episode was downright laughable it was so bad.

I was really looking forward to this "V" pilot next week, until I heard that they're going to run it for 4 weeks and then it's "see you after the Olympics"

If you ever give it another try, make sure you give it until episode six (of the first season). It may not change your view of the show, but that one episode is so unique that it will be worth your time.

Just watched the first episode of FX's new adult (very adult) comedy The League. There were a couple of laugh out loud moments..definitely season pass worthy.

Glad to hear that. I liked the idea (centered on fantasy football), but some of the promos were absolutely horrible. I did record and plan on watching, though.
Always Sunny was AMAZING! and Community continues to get better. Loved Chase's Beastmaster costume. I have probably seen that movie a gazillion times. It used to run ALL the time on TBS. like 10 times a day.

Seriously, no one watched "V"? I thought you guys would back me up on that.
I have one episode left of The Wire. Very sad day tomorrow when I watch it.
I am really liking "Community" more and more.

I just watched it last night, and I agree with your take. Very predictable, but also very enjoyable.
Community is definitely getting strong. I almost bailed on it after two episodes. Glad I didn't.

Community gets better every episode. It is easily my favorite new show of the season.
Chase's Beastmaster costume last week was INCREDIBLE.

For some reason I thought V was a television show about alien body snatchers.
