He's not a center. He may be forced to play one on the Legends but he is at most a PF. Draymond Green is 6'6" too. He gets by as a high IQ, great passing, versatile wing/pf.

Reggie Bullock sucks. 32 mins, ZERO pts.
Send him to the Gleague and call EO back up. He's been a wasted signing.

I wonder when the fire Kidd talk starts?
Dude’s sole message in camp was defensive accountability and we’ve just let the second team in a row score a most 60% against us while losing the rebounding battle by a combined 23 rebounds.
That ain’t defense and that ain’t accountability. Last year we were occasionally watchable. This year even when they pull a lead like they did with the Clippers, they throw it away.
In the off-season we lost nothing and had seeming gains and yet we’re worse than we were last year and that has to fall on Kidd. We’re 1-4 of the way through the season and we’ve never played worse.
Is it time to at least start thinking that Kidd is (at least part of) the problem?

I'm not firing Kidd because he inherited a stale roster to begin with...
Let's not forget this roster blew a 2-0 lead to the Clippers and shot terrible after the 1st two games of that series.
This is just a continuation of how they closed out last season and when the FO (Mark Cuban) decided that THJ was going to get paid as opposed to allocating that money elsewhere we knew this team wasn't going to be any better.
We can't stop dribble penetration but hey it's been that way for years long before Kidd arrived. DFS still remains the only serviceable wing defender on the entire roster which is unbelievable when you think about it.
So it's not Kidd fault it's Cuban's loyalty to the guys who were here prior to Kidd arriving and they have already reached their peak and yet he continues to try and get every ounce of them that he can.
RC took over a much more talented Indiana team and yet he's been a failure. But then now we are seeing RC operate without the likes of Dirk or Luka to make him look like a so called top 5 NBA coach

What's weird is the basic same thing happened last season. Team started off playing defense, and then just gave up on it.
I was totally on board with starting off this season committed to defense knowing the offense would take a hit until everyone adapted.
Now defense is off the board again just like last season.
Why did two coaches do basically the exact same thing two seasons in a row?

.5 games separate 4th from 10th place. Strictly from an entertainment aspect, this is interesting. I want whatever record it takes to majorly shake up the team.

Yup. And to think what we are paying THJ for less production. Or Reggie Bullock. At least we backed into Moses and Frank looks good. Hopefully a harbinger of future competence in that regard. But yeah, these are the kinds of small wins a franchise needs. Matthews looking Joe Harris good right now. I think we just literally didn’t have a spot for him. Stone also found Porter Jr. and Ja’sean Tate too if I’m not mistaken. Sengun looks like a nice pick too. He’s a good GM. He’ll move Wood for more picks soon too I’ll bet.

I thought so too, and I heard the same. My girlfriend said she thought it was before the game. I tried to Google it, but couldn’t find anything to confirm.

I thought so too, but just found this on Dallasnews.com
Happy Dirk Jersey Retirement week!
The Mavericks play the Warriors on Wednesday night in a national TV showdown of some of the NBA’s most recognizable stars, but that will serve as more a prelude than a main feature for most in attendance.
After the game, the Mavericks will officially retire Dirk Nowitzki’s No. 41 jersey, the first of several celebrations the organization is planning to honor their legendary former star over the next few seasons.

Yea. Take advantage of the crowd and use it to build the vibe going into the game. Everyone will be depressed from the throttling GS will give us, so after the game would be a bad call.

Basketball reference has us 9th in defensive rating. If the offense keeps catching up, ie players making open shots, then we should be in a decent position by the end of the season.
There is no question Kidd has the team playing much better D than Rick did.
And for comparison, Rick's Pacers are 20th in defensive rating.
And 20th in defensive rating is where the Mavs were last season. Interesting.

Pacers dropped from 14th in defensive rating to 20th.
Mavs climbed from 21st in defensive rating to 10th
Hmmm

Just me being a jerk, but I enjoy seeing the Pacers near the bottom of the eastern conference.
Maybe we can snag a player of theirs if they rebuild.

Don't know if it's possible, but I would take Sabonis/Brogdon in a second for the right price. I know people want Turner, but Turner seems needy and his defensive numbers are really lackluster for a guy who has built a career on defense supposedly.
With Sabonis' passing and toughness down low, I could see him thriving like Chriss while providing even more playmaking. We have a huge need for a PF.
Brogdon is boring, but he's at least capable of being a contributor/starter here. I think Brunson is better, but if we lose Brunson, you could do a lot worse than Brogdon.

I think the main problem is that Sabonis carries a lot more value than Turner and would command a bigger return, something I'm not sure the Mavs could do in competing with other teams. Turner is more realistic, though I would agree Sabonis is the better talent to add to this team. A better fit with KP, too, if not included in such a trade.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Mavs plan to sign Pinson to their open two-way contract. The 26-year-old will play in both Dallas and Frisco with the Texas Legends under his new deal. The front office is looking to keep both Pinson and Chriss, though.
Rumors: Dallas Mavericks want to keep Theo Pinson and Marquese Chriss
Chriss has outplayed Pinson, but he is not eligible for a two-way contract because he was played more than four years in the NBA. The 24-year-old needs a position on the team’s 15-man roster if he is going to stick in Dallas.

Marc Stein: The Mavericks say Kristaps Porzingis remains in the league’s health and safety protocols and will not play Wednesday at New York against his old team.
Man seems like KP has been out a while. I can’t imagine they are keeping him out until they figure out how they can keep Chriss. WCS also out.. can we just cut him? Are they trying to keep his contract on the books for potential trade filler?

Can’t argue that. I didn’t even think to look at what his contract looks like. Hopefully they can unload him for anything.

Chandler Parsons retired today. Was he still on a roster? Did he just want to try and stay relevant by officially retiring? What a crook that guy was..

I believe he recently settled a lawsuit against the driver who hit him and effectively ended his career. I'm guessing he waited until the suit was settled before officially filing the papers.

Good call. Man that’s tough. He’s entitled to the settlement, and the other guy deserves to pay for his bad decisions that day. But man I can’t help but think Parsons has made enough money for the next 5 generations of his family not have to work, and he just took everything the drunk driver had and then some. While the car crash may have been the final mail in the coffin his career was done before that happened. It’s hard to root for the guy too considering what a douche he was while he was here too. Oh well
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Parsons reached a settlement in his lawsuit from the January 2020 car crash for a "substantial amount."
The Atlanta Hawks announced on Jan. 20, 2020 that Parsons was diagnosed with a concussion and whiplash as the result of a car crash he was involved in five days earlier.
Morgan & Morgan law firm announced Parsons suffered "multiple severe and permanent injuries including a traumatic brain injury, disc herniation and torn labrum" when his vehicle was struck by a drunk driver who was arrested.

That's why nobody should take the all star game serious anymore. It's literally as meaningless as it gets.

Tim has surgery on his foot and is out indefinitely.
Some fans (twitter) go on and on and on about Seth Curry, but keeping THJ is a much bigger blunder IMHO.
