What channel was this on? Couldn't find it on Dish. It was on FSN but it said it's blocked in my area it only plays Mavs games. (which is stupid IMO because it becomes a channel blackout)

HAHAHAH Sean Elliott just said "That's Good!" on a near airball by Horry at the buzzer.

We're tied with the Spurs and we get to beat them at home on Sunday.

Life is good.

That would be hilarious if the Spurs miss the playoffs (won't happen, but it would be just hilarious)

What a homer call! As Robert Horry goes up...one of the announcers spouts "Thats good". Haha...and it was pretty off as it hit the side of the backboard first.

Whoops...PD beat be to this...nevermind

I have it on FSN cause I'm in Austin. We only get Spurs games here.

Exactly. That's the greatness of Sean Elliott. Screw being a good, relatively unbiased announcer--it's way more fun to actively cheer for your friends and former teammates on the mic.

Now I'm gonna watch him on the post-game show. Me and my buds down here play a game when the Spurs lose a tough one--we count how many seconds he goes without saying a word during the post-game show. We also play over/under on super-sad faces by him.

4 game losing streak.

The Spurs can suck it.

Those celtics are pretty lucky to win that game, stupid plays in the clutch by the celts. Did anyone enjoy watching that final shot from Robert horry brick?! It was an amazing feeling to watch the spurs lose!

Something is definitely wrong with the Spurs. They came out hot and had a 22 point lead and lost. They were up 7 with 4 minutes to go and completely wilted. They're not executing like they used too in 4th quarters.

I fully expected them to win this game. I may have to change my opinion that they will be a force in the playoffs. This certainly isn't like them.

How bad do you think this loss means for the Spurs? They blew like a 20 point lead on their home floor, but they almost pulled it out themselves, just unlucky with two plays. I don't know how I would feel. Losing 4 games in a row is a killer though.

Haha...good stuff.

I thought that Ric Renner had a pretty good line after they threw it to him, "For those of you watching in HD I'm Ric Renner, for those of you not I'm Brad Pitt." He is mostly cheesy, but I LOL on that one.

Even though Boston got lucky at the end a few times (Rondo's monster O-board, Horry miss, Manu's triple rim roll out), they did come back from 9 back with only a few minutes to play and all without Ray Allen.

SA goofed.

I was not able to watch the 2nd quarter. I saw the score at the first and they were up by 20 or so.

How was Boston able to get back? Did Boston really play well in that quarter? Or was SA just awful?

I can say, without reservation, that the Spurs team of Land and Elliott is in the top 3 in the entire NBA in terms of homerism. "Timmy" this and "Oh, that wasn't a foul!" that. It's sickening. Really makes me appreciate Followill--he conveys the appropriate excitement without coming off like a Mavs season ticket holder.

Did anyone catch that quote by Elliott in the 1st Q on a Tony P drive? Something like, "That penetration had me turning green with envy." Yikes, Sean.
I heard him on a national radio show a couple of weeks ago and he talked about how close he is to the coaching staff. Pop "makes" him go to dinner with the coaches and sit in on a lot of their meetings. Of course understanding why he's a homer doesn't make it any less grating.

On the flip side the Golden State guys do a good job. I don't know their play by play guy's name but if the Warriors commit a foul he'll say it. And if they get away with one that should have been called he'll say that too. You have to respect that.

How was Boston able to get back? Did Boston really play well in that quarter? Or was SA just awful?
The second quarter was all about Sam Cassell. He brought them back, he had 12 in the second. Plus KG was 6-6 from the line in the second. Rondo was really struggling in the first, too. Sam settled everything down.

I like the Lakers guys on KCAL or whatever as well. They are very complimentary of the other team, although they're a bit homer (not as much as Elliott).

And yeah, I understand completely why he's a homer, but frankly I'm not sure how appropriate all that is for an announcer. I don't mind the former player announcer thing (see Brad Davis), but I'm not sure if it should be a guy that actually played with guys who are still currently on the team.

That's just my take though. And, of course, it's particularly annoying simply because it's the Spurs.

Thanks a lot.

I was quite surprised to see the score at the half. I thought SA would win by at least 10 or 15 with the way the first quarter went.

Anyway, good job Boston!

I wonder if a team that loses 6 of 7 has ever won the championship in the same season.

Is something going on behind the scenes? They don't look the same at all. I don't believe it's age as most the problems are mental. The defense isn't the same, the lack of execution in 4th quarters, and the lull's in scoring. I know the West is really tough but they've had trouble beating weak teams. Pop is way too calm as he's usually using the soft card by now but the only quote I've read from him is that he isn't worried and seedings don't mean anything.

I looked at spurstalk and the fans seem to be banking on the return of Barry to make everything right. He'll help but no way he cures all that's wrong with the Spurs right now.

Now I'm gonna watch him on the post-game show. Me and my buds down here play a game when the Spurs lose a tough one--we count how many seconds he goes without saying a word during the post-game show. We also play over/under on super-sad faces by him.
LOL! That is an awesome game. What's the criteria for a super-sad face?

Edit... I must first spread it.

We tend to rank them. There's a standard frown involving only the mouth (1 point), a grimacey frown involving the mouth+eyebrows (2 points), and a suicidal face that you know when you see it (3 points). Funnily, the suicidal face pops up pretty often.
