Good first half overall. Defense is looking great, holding NO to 40. Keeping Paul from exploding in the 2nd half is the key, while at the same time keeping tabs on the 3-point shooters.
Sixers destroying Pistons right now.

I think the Mavericks should consult the local prisons, and sign the biggest, baddest and most violent offender to a 10-day contract for the express purpose of fouling the living shit out of point guards and hurting them.

I'm glad I was wrong about Paul hitting a crazy shot at the end... that's the first time we stopped him.
Dirk is a stud.
There's no excuse for Dirk-Kidd-Howard-Terry to not get 40+ minutes. What could we possibly be saving them for? Damp I at least understand because of foul trouble, but I think Avery finally realizes how much we need Damp in there cause he left him in after his 2nd foul.

Now, the catastrophic 3rd quarter. Please Mavs. Come out aggressive and determined please! No lead is safe right now.
P.S. Avery, please don't rest your starters for more than 2 minutes this entire 2nd half. Please.

If Devean can give the Mavs some offense, I don't mind him getting all of Stack's minutes. I think he's above-average on the defensive end. Stack still seems either hurt or out of sync.

Dirk played 19:37 and Howard 23:11 minutes. why? yes, I know, Howard might have a good first half, but this time he sucks in shooting. He's 3-11 while Dirk is 6-9. Dirk needs much more shots and playing time. Avery is a stubborn moron

As much as I dislike George, at the moment I would prefer to see him get PT over Stack. At least he is decent on defense. Stack just stands there.

Dirk has to attempt at least 18 to 20 shots per game. As for Josh, oh well. He won't stop even if he is obviously off.

I love me some Dirk
Hopefully I will lose some sleep for a victory tonight.
Josh is driving me insane, seriously he and Avery have to understand HE IS NOT THAT GOOD OF AN OFFENSIVE PLAYER!!!!

What happened to Josh these last few months. At least he had the two drives.
Who would have thought he would play this poorly offensively in 2 1/2 games.
10 for 37 for 27,02%
Thats the Mav's Ginobili, the Mav's Gasol or Turkoglu.

I can't believe it...but I actually agree with what Stephen A. Smith is saying on Josh Howard. Keep it to yourself Howard and don't make it seem like everyone in the NBA does it.

ne1 feel like we should've built a larger cushion with how poor the hornets are playing?
I'm feelin bad karma and dejavu for some reason... I hope I'm wrong.
nice defense/rebounding... stagnant offense though.

It would suck to be Detroit right now. At least we got upset by a team with a winning record.

It's exactly like game one where the first team builds a lead, the second team can't hold it vs their second team. Then they build a lead back up at halftime. ...

IMO, also because our best shooter is not getting enough balls. Dirk is 50% this series and today 6-9. Josh is 3-11. why he is getting the ball more often? unbelieveable. Dirk needs to shoot 18-20 times a game.

I refuse to agree with Stephen A. Smith (why do I feel I must write out his name?). Even though I don't like that Josh is using weed and talking openly about it during the playoffs, I'll take his side as long as Stephen A. Smith is on the other.

well, if avery will rest our starters like he did during the fisrt two games, it might happen. in every other team in the whole nba, our starters would have a guaranteed playing time which exceeds 40 minutes. but with avery it's unfortunately doubtful

Okay, so we know Stackhouse, Howard, and Dampier probably won't produce in the second half. Let's see if robo Dirk can pull out 50 points.

I feel better about this lead than our 12 point lead in game one for some reason. I don't know why. Maybe it was because we were in NO and now we're in DAL.. maybe it's because we played really physical and inspired so far today. But I'm feelin' it.

Stackhouse is sucking tonight.
Bass looking a little raw but gives high effort.
Malik looked a little lost.
Jet is talking some smack to Paul and is playing well.
Dirk is a freakin' stud!!!!
Kidd looks very active and is really hustling tonight.

It's incredible to me that it seems they never run plays to get Dirk an easy shot. It's either Kidd finding him on an improv break, or ISO create your own shot. He shot 50% coming into today, and he's shooting over 50% today. He's got his playoff swagger back... let's ride it.

I actually like Howard's body language today. Regardless of what he's done on the offensive side, he looks active and alert on defense.

I think it's the defense the Mavs are playing today is solid. It's not just Predrag and co. missing wide-open jumpers today.

Josh never shows up for more than one half. He would probably be at better use passing out towels or something for the next 24 minutes.
