76'ers sign 2016 first rounder Turkish sharpshooting SG Furkan Korkmaz. They've built an extremely intriguing team.
As for Hardaway, he really tore it up the second half of the season, but IMO his game is too similarly to Seth's to justify paying him $15 million a year. If you can get him for $7-12 I'd jump on it.

What are the odds that Brooklyn-- with its clueless GM throwing ridiculous contracts around-- loses Porter and makes a ridiculous offer on Noel.

That's why I'm hoping Wiz don't match, but they have to, I think. Noel is going to get a max offer with how the rest of FA has gone...

I think they have too much money invested at Center with Mozgov's contract to offer Noel the max. I've read they plan to chase KCP next.

Alex Kennedy: The Hawks have shown interest in restricted free agent Nerlens Noel, according to sources. The Mavericks can match any offer sheet. – via Twitter AlexKennedyNB

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Alex Len. He and Noel are both young and similar productioned centers that haven't full blossomed yet. You'd think the deals would be similar.

Word on the street is Celtics are looking to move Crowder. I'm all aboard the Salah + protected picks for Crowder train.
Edit: I'd do our 2018 pick with top-20 protection otherwise it turns into our 2018 & 2019 second rounders.

Crowder and Smart.
Crowder being the more interesting of the two and on a sweet contract. 7mill is an absolute bargain.
Not sure how that works out with Noel hanging over our heads. He counts against our cap bigly until he signs a contract or we decline. We'd need to be under the cap enough to absorb him. Trading tit for tat won't work, because they need to dump salary. They not only have too many forwards, they also don't have the money to actually sign Hayward unless they dump 2-3 medium-sized contracts.

My understanding is they only need to move one of Smart or Crowder and they are leaning towards Crowder. (This is assuming they renounce Young, Olynk, and Jerekpo).

I think they have to move one and waive three or trade two, but they're shopping Crowder and Smart. Maybe they see who has more value or is a cheaper dump?

The Celtics have to renounce Young, Olynyk, Jerebko, and Green. Then they have to also trade Crowder OR Bradley OR Smart.
If it's for money, Bradley would be the first moved. He's a free agent after this year.
Crowder has the most time on his favorable contract, but he's fairly redundant positionally, although he could play a lot of smallball 4.
It could be any of the three that go, but at least one almost surely will have to be traded, and with little or no salary coming back.
The one moved might simply be the one that returns the best deal.

Waiters 4/52 to Miami. Finally something reasonable.

On the basketball court, he is my least favorite player in the league. Just a complete "irrational confidence" guy.

My guess is ultimately Smart and/or Crowder go to Utah in a S&T for Hayward. I really don't know who wins that trade (if both are sent to the Jazz). Utah will lack scoring, but will be the best defensive squad in the league by a mile.

BYC makes it hard with just two teams but may actually work out well for salary dumping purposes

If he can hit fts at 75% and 3s at 37% he's worth every dime.
Last seasons he shot 42% (!!!!) from the FT line and 25% from 3. He's an elite defender but probably the worst shooting guard I've ever seen my life in college or the NBA.

Monta would be a good fit for Cleveland. They need scoring off the bench in a really bad way. I forget how it works but if he clears waivers, does he get paid that money plus whatever his new teams pays him? So vet min would probably be fine if that is the case.

Totally agree, but at least he isn't making 20+ million a year so there is that.

No thank you. Between Smith, Yogi, JJ, and Harris we may have a logjam already. We need to give Smith minutes.

Yeah, sorry - I was not suggesting Deron for us - just wondering where he will land. He may have to wait until after start of season - see if another pg gets hurt on another team or something.

Deron could get a 1 year deal from a team who needs to just spend some money. But I really wonder if anyone contending really wants him as even a backup at this point. He looked cooked last year in the post season. And he lost his job to a guy on a 10day contract. I like Yogi but that says a lot about how far Dwill has dropped to me.

Great move by the Spurs. Being able to play Gay/Kawhi at the 3/4 will be huge in the playoffs.
