Don't we have a bye coming in two weeks? I say we compromise. We can't afford to lose three games while he is out so I can't imagine sitting him for 4 weeks total, but I'm with you on not wanting to hurt the pinkie further. So I say bring him back after the bye.

I mixed the bye weeks up so disregard the previous post. I guess bring him back ASAP, we can't afford to keep sitting him...especially after watching Brad Johnson throw another pick.

I thought the point of the RW11 trade was to get double coverage off of one or either of them.
I'm probably stupid though. Anyone have an answer?

If you're 4-5 coming out of the bye, your chances of making the playoffs are less than 50/50. Maybe much less.
Romo has to play next week. Period. The season is in the balance.

Well, first of all Johnson can't hit anyone. Secondly, RW11 isn't playing much. Receivers can't just step into an offense. It's a tough transition.

running down the 'boys performance since winning the battle of 10-1 teams against Green Bay last november
at Detroit -- lucky win in the waning minutes against a bad team
v. Philly -- loss, physically whipped
at Carolina -- win against a mediocre team playing their third team qb
at Washington -- got their butts absolutely kicked
v. NY Giants -- lost a tough one
at Cleveland -- win, kicked butt
v. Philly -- win, a little lucky
at Green Bay -- win, kicked butt
v. Washington -- loss, got their butts kicked
v. Cinci -- win, a little lucky
v. Arizona -- loss, whipped at the line of scrimmage
v. St. Louis -- butts kicked by a bad team
that's 6-6 over the last twelve games, only two of which one can definitively say they were the best team on the field. that 10-1 start to last season is long since over, and I think this team is actually closer to mediocre than great.

If Romo gets hurt during this three game stretch coming back from injury too fast he could be gone for the rest of the season. I'd rather lose him for 3 games than for a whole season.

I know we could of had Byron Leftwich and I even recall even though he's a starter that we passed on Chad Pennington? I could be wrong about that one. But I remember hearing about 2-3 former starters that we passed on and stayed with Brad Johnson.
I know backup QB is not the only problem with this team right now, but it would of given us a chance today.

Dude if you're 4-5 coming out of the bye you're probably talking about having to go 5-1 the rest of the way to even have a chance at the playoffs.

I agree. I had the Cowboys going 1-2 in this stretch without Romo. I had them winning this game though so we're potentially looking at 0-3. All you can do is hope that there's a lucky win in there or maybe two. But i'm willing to risk the 3 losses. I don't want any losses but I understand that we stand no chance with a hurt Romo anyway.

This game was supposed to be the easiest one of the season. That tells you a little something about how bad we're going to lose our next few games.
There are no more 'easy' games. Possibly the seattle game but that's it.

Nice to see a carry for Choice. And he looked nice with it.

Even when St. Louis has essentially called off the dogs, Brad Johnson still can't hit a receiver.

Well Bennett hasn't looked too shabby this drive. I hate that penalty he had earlier in the game though.

It is but its not gonna come off the back. I didn't see Roy out there much today but even when he gets comfortable with the offense he's going to have to perform big to get teams to concentrate on him and less of TO. I don't think Roy Williams name alone will force teams to pay more attention to him and less of TO.

Before anyone freaks out, that's the safety.
I say good riddance. He was at fault for that first deep bomb.
Quite possibly his last game as a Cowboy.

I hate to see any guy get injured, but honestly I won't miss him at all. And thig's right, that may have been the last time we saw him in a Cowboys uniform. Anyone think that he may just retire? It just doesn't seem like he has much ability anymore, he has to be frustrated with injuries, and I wonder if he really likes the game much anymore.

Henry was at fault for that 1st deep bomb. I don't know exactly what Roy's assignment was but I did see Henry was man to man on Avery and he can't just rely on Roy or any safety to be there everytime he gets burnt. IT won't be his last game as a Cowboy and I hope not. Frankly, we don't have a better option. I know some will say move Henry to corner but Henry is just as lost as any of our safety's. I wish Roy the best. He's still a Cowboy and i'm still gonna support him.

Nope, Roy had the deep coverage and bit on the TE. They said on the radio that it was Roy's msitake, and Campo was discussing the play with Roy afterwards.

He certainly can't rely on the safety when the safety is Roy Williams.

Well we have a secondary coaching problem because if they thought Roy could keep up with Avery or any speed receiver they've lost their minds.

I don't think you can rely on any safety not named Ed Reed, Bob Harper and Polumala.

We don't play man-to-man. So you're not depending on a safety to "keep up" with a speed receiver. You're depending on him to be in his deep zone to prevent the ball over the top.

Henry isn't fast enough to keep up with avery either. that's a horrible mismatch for the cowboys. it's time to put henry at the FS position for good. Let Jenkins and Scandrick battle it out for the second CB position.
sadly, secondary isn't even the biggest problem on this team. seems to be some horrible game preparation and coaching.

My circumstances today were such that I was away from TVs and internet all day long, and didn't see a second of football. I just got home and I see the score of this game, but it must be an error. WTF happened?

No we play some man to man. Some plays we even put the safety's man to man with tight ends and fullbacks. And i'm willing to bet on that deep pass Henry was man to man with Avery. You don't just stay in zone coverage and at the end of the play you're seen running behind the guy. I almost want to get rid of this zone coverage altogether and just go man to man and take my chances.

Dude, let it go. Babe said it was a zone and Roy's fault on the radio coverage. A few minutes later the side line reported stated that Campo had a long discussion with Roy following that play, not Henry.
If you watch the replay, Roy is immediately looking at Henry and trying to explain why he was where he was, instead where he was supposed to be.
It was a zone coverage. It was Roy's fault. Let it go.
