I hope they aren?t trying to get DFS back. He?s avg 3 points his last 5 games, 5 points over his last 10 games.
He?s the same he?s always been when we were looking to trade him. Only so many wide open 3s assisted by Luka I can watch brick

It makes little sense with DJJ. He is a discount version of Dodo with only 1 rebound less per game but a much better FG%.

DFS is such a waste of time. Sentimental twitter fans and click bait merchants. If they want to take G Will or some rando, then so be it but we have needs that supercede pointless reunions .

And look at Dinwiddie calling off a cliff. Players are usually traded for a reason.
Mavs need to break this habit of considering nice guys. Dodo is a nice guy and everyone liked him. He is also a dime a dozen talent-wise.

What? Dime a dozen talent-wise?
He's a 3/D guy who is shooting 41% from three, providing solid D, and pulling down more rebounds than everyone on our squad not named Lively/Luka
Also nice guy? Other than the fact that he was a huge chemistry guy, what makes you think he was just a nice guy? Guy played hard AF every night.
Mavs fans love to trash our own and some are fitting, but Dodo was legit one of the better stories and legit one of the best chemistry guys we've ever had.

His D was horrible last season. We?re just going off of his past reputation when in reality he was getting blown by on drives. He peaked the prior season defensively.
Just as an example, PJ Washington avgs the same amount of rebounds and more points. We don?t need more 3 point shooters anyway. Length and rebounds should be the #1 priority. And he?s only 25 and might cost less.
Like sure I wouldn?t mind DFS back because of his chemistry with the team in a bench role. But Mavs have limited assets and he can?t be their deadline move if they?re really trying to take a step.

If it were as simple as DFS for someone like Curry, then sure. But not for the only move to upgrade. I'd gladly swap a guard out for a wing.

Yeah, if they want Grant Williams straight up, then sure. They aren't gonna do that.
Mavs are reportedly going for a bigger fish anyway. Lots of smoke with Kuzma and Washington.

41% 3pt%? Where are you seeing this? I'm seeing 38% from "sources".
A dime a dozen talent-wise is not a stretch imo. DFS didnt play any harder than DP every night and while he is definitely more valuable, it didnt amount to very much in the big picture. I think we all like him but the idea that we need him is odd to me. He is a luxury add-on to a team that just needs one more solid semi-reliable rotation player and we are a cpl of bigger pieces away from being in that position.

I'd like Kuzma to become a fire.

He had a couple of bad games (0-3 then 0-5) so the stat was a little old. I still think he's near 40% and a lot of the crap is because the entire Nets team is cancer and needs to be traded away for a new start.
Now would I take Dinwiddie? No.
But DFS/DSJ for cheap? I'd do it. Maybe Claxton for a bit more.

I officially want Kuzma and Gafford in a trade. THJ would have to be included, as I would imagine a first rounder and/or multiple seconds. The contracts are favorable for the Luka/Kyrie window and fit much better than THJ and supposed trade sweeteners Green and Hardy, not sure OMax carries much trade weight.
Kuzma more than replaces THJ's scoring while providing size and rebounding. Gafford provides very quality depth to the front court and further addresses the rebounding problem while providing a bit of rim protection.

THJ/Holmes/Green/Hardy and a first for Kuzma/Gafford. Not sure they take it, but I also don't know what else we have to offer.

Nets apparently want 2 1sts for DFS, so we can scratch him off the list.

I may support DFS from the haters, but even one FRP is too much IMO.
We have one FRP right now (2-3 this summer). Just getting DFS does not make us a contender.
If we spend a FRP this year, it has to make us SIGNIFICANTLY better and maybe even close to contending.

The only list he was ever on was the "Lets get some clicks" list. Besides that, any team that all the sudden wants their player back isn't getting a good deal.

Prob should be enough with the 1st. Hell they're 7-35.
They get:
2 young promising guards - Green, Hardy
a "wink wink" excellent shooter/tough shot maker - THJ
Expiring pf/C combo
1st rounder.

I mean, it just depends who. PJ Washington seems like the easiest and mostly likely to happen based on price and fit.
Kuzma and Grant are long shots at best. Boucher means dealing with Musai. Stewart would be great, but the Pistons are living in la la land being "buyers" in the market.

I highly doubt we will work out a deal with the Pistons. Other than being bad, they are in the driver's seat-- other teams want bigs and all of their bigs have longterm deals. After dealing Bagley, they have almost no salary issues so there isn't anything keeping them from holding firm to a price.
Hell, Stewart is under contract for four (4!) more years. Unless he demands a trade, they are in full control.
Claxton on the other hand? Nets are all jumping ship and if the Nets wait until this offseason, Claxton will become a UFA-- and one who won't be interested in re-siginng with the Nets.

But you're dealing with the same issue as Stewart. Quality big men are hard to come by, and Claxton is going to cost you.
Same with Gafford.
I also wonder how much a Claxton would stunt Lively's development as they are pretty similar players. Claxton is a better rebounder and shot blocker at this point in their careers. I guess you could try the twin tower's route, but I really can't see Kidd of all coaches doing that.

PJ Washington or Gafford are my preferred targets. Does Kuzma wanna play third or fourth wheel? He thinks he?s a 1a/1b I could see fans getting really frustrated at some of his decisions.

Except Washington. I'd just trade for him then sign Biyombo.

Not a fan of PJ'S defense or rebounding
He'll give you a little bit of scoring but I'd be wary of him being a one trick pony.
Now Stewart is a dog and this team needs a tough a hard nosed two way player like him. He ain't pretty but he's a grinder

But seriously we only have one FRP to trade but teams have to be watching this team and licking their lips. That KP pick could be prime 11-15 and the future FRP we can trade could be even better

Report that the Lakers want Andre Drummond. I cannot stress enough how the Mavs can't let that happen and need to get him.

I anticipate Drummond and DeRozan will be both be traded before the trade deadline (expiring contracts). I am guessing the Mavs do not have a competitive offer.

You're probably right, and I don't think they will trade Green or Hardy anyway.

Or fire Kidd. Get ready to lock in to
THJ
DP
GWill
Maxi
KIDD
Green, Hardy, small ball, no defense and no rebounding.

Ahh the annual ?Lakers are interested in ____?. I saw reports they are also interested in Trae Young and Donovan Mitchell. Not really sure what their trade assets look like. Have to assume Austin Reeves has to be included for a star player.

Adrian Griffin fired with a 30?13 record, but we are stuck with Kidd?s bum ass. I am checking out until we have a real coach. I know we don?t have the defensive wings to make a deep run, but that?s only half the equation. We don?t have a coach either.

This seems like a solid breakdown of issues within the team leading to AG firing. I dont think the record is the key factor, but I completely agree that all signs point to the Bucks being a serious franchise unlike the Mavs. They aren't waiting until the barn is on fire, wasting an entire season. Meanwhile we have wasted at least a full season worth of games with Kidd as far as knowing what he is. The FO is lacking and I still cant stand Cuban.

What is the deal with Holmes?
First Culley-Stein, then McGee, now Holmes.
Doesnt seem to take much for a big to get in Kidd's doghouse.
Or maybe I missed something.
