Yeah, I'm so glad they got everyone together now. I love Ed Helms' character now that he's interacting with Dwight and Michael all the time.

The Office was great again last night. So many laugh out loud moments.
I finally watched Studio 60 for this week....In my opinion, maybe not the best story line they've had yet, but this one had me laughing much more than any other episode so far. I thought it was great.
and finally....

i thought this week's studio 60 was borderline awesome. Mark McKinney really had a strong performance. great lines, great delivery.
and this may be the first time that i actually thought their sketches were relatively funny.
thursday night on NBC. my new favorite night of tv. earl, office, scrubs, 30 rock. all good shows (with scrubs and the office being my favorite comedies on tv right now). and they were all pretty good last night (earl is probably the weakest of the four - 30 rock keeps getting better with every episode).

I still can't watch 30 Rock without projectile vomiting though.Ill admit its getting better....but where else did it have to go?

seriously? projectile vomiting? that's a little excessive. must suck to clean up.
alec baldwin has been great on the show from the beginning. and now the rest of the cast is getting funnier (thank god dratch is only on the show in VERY minor cameos). tracy morgan is even funny, and that was a surprise to me.
i like earl, but it's not as funny as it was in its first season. it's gotten more preachy than funny.

I really enjoyed Studio 60, but not as much as the two before this week. I'm very interested in the young writers learning the industry storyline.

is anyone watching daybreak? i liked the pilot enough to set it as a season pass on TiVo. I finally got around to watching the last two episodes, and i'd have to say i'm liking it. the best description is 24 mixed with Groundhog Day. exciting, and diggs is pretty good in it.
but it's not getting good ratings. i hope they keep it on for all of its 13 episodes.

I love it... Although they are dropping important acts that he has to perform each day as the season is moving forward. Unless we are supposed to assume he does that off screen.

i think that's what they're doing. otherwise, they'll be filling up the episodes with time spent with the menial tasks.
for example:
SPOILERS BELOW
At the end of the last episode, we don't see him get the package at his sister's house. but he has the picture in the car when he's driving his partner and Eddie.
Also, i would assume that he is removing the car's tracer each morning now, too.
I think they'll show him doing those things every once in a while, just to make sure we know he's doing it.
i'll tell you what i did not like. in this last episdoe, each new repeat of the day came along with a "Day #" blurb in the bottom corner. not only is that unnecessary (they only need to show the clock to indicate it's a new day), it's confusing, too.

They actually had the "Day x" marker on the previous episode as well.... and it confused me.

ok, i guess i missed it in the previous one. but it was really obvious in the last one. they need to get rid of it. your viewers aren't that dumb that they can't realize seeing the clock means it's a new day.

not really
actually, I have noticed that too....that on a Sunday night, if you're on the internet, and somehow, someway, you wanted to "obtain" a show for watching, that you can get Studio 60 a day early. but I would never do such a thing.

Well, actually.... it might be that I have a friend that is privy to the network feeds for NBC...
But if I said that I might get him in trouble so that's not it.

well, if hiro's jump to the future is an indication, it would be isaac. but i think the timeline has been changed enough that that won't be the case. I think it will be a secondary character (even though they say it's a main one) like ConvincingGirl.
or, it could be the cheerleader. she dies, but then comes back!

If you've never seen them before you are in for a treat. That show is the only one that made me so uncomfortable with all the man-love but I just kept going back because the story was so compelling. And I also think thats the only Drama I have stuck with in which the ending was completely satisfying.

It's an absolutely tremendous show. I'd have to say that it's right up there with the first season and a half of Lost (that's as far as I've gotten) and the first 3 years of The Shield for the best shows on TV over the past decade.

Six Feet Under was by far the best of the HBO dramas - of the ones I watched anyway.
Its really insulting to compare it to Lost.

The first season of Lost was absolutely genius...not sure about the rest of it... But, I have no problem putting both shows right up there with the best shows in the past decade...

i also liked studio 60 last night. good stuff, good stuff. i thought whitford was great. the musical thing at the end was very touching.
loved the coconut busting the table. hilarious. loved jordan's stuff-faced reaction to danny.
and this was the first time i actually really laughed at one of the on-show sketches. "To Catch a Predator" with Santa Claus? hilarious.

i don't really care that much either, but in the past, they've talked about the sketches being funny ("go with that idea, it's funny" - stuff like that), and they simply weren't.

This has been one of the biggest problems of the show. How are we supposed to think this show is super cutting edge when it is simply not funny, especially in a universe where SNL still exists?

I'd think this would help...seeing how SNL has been "simply not funny" since Will Ferrell left.
