My opinion is that Dirk won't realize his full potential until he plays with a point guard who can initiate the offense and keep the defensive pressure off him.

then how do you explain him being a better player now than with Nash?

maturity?

How good he is individually doesn't have anything to do with Nash.

But that doesn't even have anything to do with what I'm saying. I'm saying that in order to him to reach his fullest potential as a contributor to a team, he needs to be in an environment that utilitizes his abilities to the fullest. The iso offense ain't it.

The isolation offense is incredibly annoying at times. But I think that's what you get with Del Harris and Avery Johnson running practice and emphasizing defense eveyr step of the way.

If the ball movement improved (which youd think Avery and all of his assists would lend itself to) you'd see even more Dirk.

Or more emphasis on a transition game a la Phoenix. But the Mavericks cant take care of the ball in a half court set much less a transition heavy game. The tunrnovers would kill, as they did in a few finals games.

I personally don't think the iso offense is much of a problem except we don't have enough shooters to take advantage of the drive and kick.
