Man, the defense and energy by this unit (Watson-Brewer-Deng-Gibson-Asik) is bananas.

The Bulls have been pretty damn impressive in the 2nd half. Their defense and energy is off the charts.

The Bulls have just completely owned the Heat in every way during this 2nd half. Miami looks pathetic.

Now that must be a nice confidence boost for the Heat. What an a$$-kicking in the 2nd half.

Haha because I like watching good basketball, even if its coming from teams other than our mavs.
No need to hate our opponents. I think we beat Chicago in the finals simply because in a knock down, drag out defensive battle I'll take Dirk over Rose for clutch offense. Doesn't mean I have to hate the bulls in the process of rooting for the mavs.
I can't stand fans that simply hate the other team just because, as if it makes them a "better" fan or more of a "true" fan. It just makes you miss out on some amazing sports. It's just basketball man. It's fun.

Well, that was interesting...I guess the Mavs just ought to go ahead and lose the semifinals to OKC so that they don't lose another NBA final.../sarcasm
Chicago looks tough...The Mavs are going to be roughed up pretty badly by Chicago if they make it to the finals. They better be prepared for that.

One thing worries me if we make it to the Finals and face the Bulls is their D. Watching Rose put up some bad shots give me confidence there is little doubt Dirk would be more clutch down the stretch. All else aside a Dallas/Chicago match up would be a great bench battle.

I still think Chicago is a better matchup for the Mavs than Miami. The Mavs could get away with playing a Terry/Barea lineup against the Bulls, as well as having Peja out there for long stretches too. Against Miami, any of those lineups would get torched by Wade or Lebron.

That Taj Gibson put back might be my favorite dunk I've ever seen in a live game. Ever.
That was freaking epic.

I thought my eyes where going to pop out.
If the people at ESPN have even a lick of sense that will be the number one play of the day.

Chicago did what they had to do good job. Interested to see how Heat bounce back in game 2.

I know it would not help us if the Mavs do advance to the Finals, but damn I want to see Chicago sweep Miami.

I still think you're way too focused on these 1-2 aspects of the matchups when you talk about this. You're ignoring the litany of other ways the Bulls are a much tougher matchup for the Mavs--their elite point guard (which you yourself have stated is the most difficult for the Mavs to guard), their tremendous length at all positions, their elite rebounding (which has at times been a difficulty for the Mavs this year), their superior coaching relative to the Heat, their superior bench relative to the Heat....
Just seems like you're so scared of the Big 2, you're not seeing the dynamism and multiple points of attack for the Bulls that could really hurt the Mavs.

"Without me, without Boozer, they're a .500 ball club," McGrady said. "And with the guys that they added, if they add me, I think we'll be 30 points better. I think we'll be a better defensive team with Thibodeau, who I played with for three years [in Houston]. So [the Bulls] have a really good chance of being good. The city should be excited about this team."

Oh trust me, I'm not ignoring anything about the Bulls. I don't like either matchup. I don't even know that I would pick the Mavs to win a series against the Bulls. I just think the Mavs would have a better shot than they would against Miami. I see Chicago simply as the lesser of two evils.
I agree with all of your points about the Bulls, but I think Miami has the ability to completely neutralize our most effective rotations in a way that I don't think the Bulls do.

BTW, for everyone who's hoping that Miami gets swept, bear in mind that the Mavericks are in fact the oldest team in the NBA. Rest is ALWAYS a good thing for the Mavs.

No team with as many holes as the Heat can "completely neutralize" a rotation. Again, I think you're too focused on the fact that the Heat have the two best players. They are horrifically weak at perhaps the two most important positions, the 1 and the 5. Mavs have just as many matchup advantages against them, if not more.

I'd prefer to beat SoB in the finals. I still enjoyed the Bulls beating them up - a lot.

The bulls are a load, and miami is about to have it dropped on them. They may survive, but it'll be one heck of a battle.

The good thing about it is that both teams could be really exhausted after this series due to their physically demanding style of play. I'm not sure which team I'd prefer to face in a potential finals matchup. Right now, all I want is the Bulls and Heat to battle it out in a 7-game series.

Ugh... I actually liked Lebron quite a bit before this. But I'll never view him the same way again after that sickening display.
