Truth be told I think Denver, OKC and Minnesota are more favorable matchups for Dallas.
I just don't think Kawhi can be handled by any of our wings.

Eh, any pill is hard to swallow when you lose. Imagine losing to OKC with the Shai stans...
Again though, you'll have to play better teams as you advance anyway. If we can beat the Clippers, then we'll be in good position to beat anyone.
It just doesn't make sense to say it's a tough pill to swallow when we're ready to compete if you're going to lose in the first round.

Fuck the Clippers, it's Luka's time to turn that corner with a better supporting cast. Luka will go nuclear with Kyrie turning it up. Just need our role players to play within themselves unless it obvious they've got it going (THJ, PJ, etc.). LOVE Exum for his understanding of this concept.
That extra rest is crucial. I get the argument against it and how it can harm professionals every now and then, but Luka is banged up, Kyrie I'm sure could use a little rest, and then Lively and Green can hopefully mend. Someone said it yesterday, but having Kyrie blunts any negative impact of rest as I think he will keep the locker room focused.
Heard on the radio this morning, but they said this is the first time Kyrie is kind of the unquestioned leader of a team. Luka is the guy, no doubt about it. But his leadership has not always been up to par (loafing, complaining, body language, etc.), so the natural marriage of this duo has finally fallen into a great spot. I think it speaks volumes when you hear teammates talk about both of these guys this season, and especially since the deadline.

Notice how Luka as he?s gotten closer with Kyrie has cut out a lot of the bullshit. It?s been awhile since he?s had a tech, body language isn?t as bad (altho PJ Gaff and Exum make a difference)

I'd like to think that Luka has been a positive influence on Kyrie as well. Times have been so good lately that it's hard to remember that only a few short months ago, it was Kyrie, not Luka, who was believed by most (myself included) to be an unemployable lunatic and malcontent.
For whatever reason, Luka and Kyrie seem to bring out the best in each other. I don't quite understand it, but I sure as hell am not complaining.

Like I said, it appears to be a perfect marriage of egos and talent, which takes a lot from both parties and perspectives.
For what it's worth, I never bought into the Kyrie BS as it was completely media driven and pretty much got obnoxious even before it wasn't even an idea we could make a move for him. One of the more misunderstood dudes in a minute for the NBA where anything negative seems to be from all other places other than coaches and players. They all seem to speak the world of him, and at a minimum, the Mavs and his current teammates are working just fine with him.

I honestly don't think it was completely media driven. Partially media driven, sure. But honestly, I think the negative perception of Kyrie was pretty justified. He burned bridges in three consecutive places in quite spectacular fashion, missed a shitload of games, and alienated a hell of a lot of people. The antivaxx stuff in particular I honestly think is indefensible and I have zero sympathy for. I have great disdain for anti-science and anti-intellectual thinking, and Kyrie made himself the posterchild for that pseudoscientific garbage. Covid-19 has killed over 1 million Americans, and hundreds of thousands of those deaths were preventable. Kyrie earned his negative reputation.
I'll agree that he was misunderstood in one very specific and crucially important area- the respect he commands from other players around the league. That matters a great deal.
Whatever the case, this has been the absolute best case scenario with him, and I'm thrilled about it.

Yeah, it wasn't just media driven. The owner of the Nets made to guy basically do a GOT style walk of shame to make up for liking something on Amazon or some bs.
Here is some easy advice: Never shit on your superstar. Ever.

Lively has already been ruled out rest of regular season.
At this point I don?t expect him back for playoffs.
I can?t believe this shit. It will make a difference in a series. Maxi can?t hold up unfortunately. Hes good but will get exposed over long periods.

Is this just your speculation, or do you have some facts I can't find.
My searches just show updates that are 7 days old, all saying Lively could be back before the season ends. With all the remaining games basically useless, there is no reason to rush him back to play in meaningless games. But he has to be in very bad shape not to play 2 weeks from now.
So again, facts or just speculation? A link here would be great.

Sounds like Kidd wasn?t too upset or concerned. The rest of the season sounds really bad. ?Hes out until at least Monday? sounds way less bad.
I?m still hopeful he?ll play game 1 and Kidd didn?t rule that out
