IF Chandler can perform well enough to overtake Haywood's minutes (without 'Wood's performance slipping), then that's a GOOD problem to have...

Mavericks vs. Miami Heat game tickets already at outrageous prices
http://mavsblog.dallasnews.com/archi...ckets-alr.html
Want to see LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh at American Airlines Center on Nov. 27? Better save your money, or better yet, wait a while.
A quick check of stubhub.com reveals that tickets to the Mavericks' lone regular-season game against the Heat are going as high as $1,740 each. The cheapest tickets are $82, but most upper-level seats are going for $140-240.
That's a huge markup from the face value of upper-level seats, which is as low as $9 each. You can buy a ticket to see to see the Detroit Pistons for $8.
A lower level ticket to the Heat game will cost you -- $344 at minimum.
An important note: the tickets on StubHub are season-ticket holders' tickets. The Mavericks are slated to sell single-game tickets on Oct. 2. But don't expect to buy the Miami game on that date.
A Mavericks ticket specialist said the team is not doing single-game tickets for the Heat game. Some extras will be available to season-ticket holders first. The leftovers will likely be part of a three-game ticket pack.
A three-game pack might still be a good deal as you can get the Heat game and two others for more than half the cost of what a single-game ticket is on StubHub.
But don't worry, Mavs fans, it could be worse. If you're in Miami and want to see the Mavs on Dec. 20, it could cost you as much as $5,700 per ticket. At that price, maybe you can earn a spot on Miami's bench.

Barkley: Mavericks still one of the top four teams in the West
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont....59bbe629.html
NBA Hall-of-Famer Charles Barklet was interviewed on KESN-FM on Sunday to discuss the Dallas Mavericks and where they stand among the NBA Western Conference. Here are some highlights:
In your eyes, do you think the Lakers are still the best team in the NBA? Also, where do the Mavericks stand in the West?
You know, I do. The Lakers are still the best team. Including Miami, the Lakers are still the best team. I like getting Theo Ratliff and Matt Barnes.
They're still the best team, but Oklahoma City, Utah getting Al Jefferson and the Mavericks, there all right there together.
I think that everyone overreacted to what happened to them in the playoffs last year. I like the Dallas Mavericks team. Are they going to be favored? No, but I think they're one of the top four teams in the West. They just got a bad match-up last year. Because Dallas would have beaten Phoenix, you know? Dallas would have beaten Phoenix.
But the Spurs with their experience, I thing the Mavericks got a little tight. I think the people overreacted, but the Mavs are going to be fine.

See! Contrary to your "facts", Erick Dampier is basically a Ray Allen sharpshooter!
I mean seriously, only you could use such retarded logic. You can find a f'ing mixtape on youtube that makes Smush Parker look like an All-Star! Does that mean he is? Obviously there are going to be positive highlights of Chandler! O really? You mean he doesn't drop EVERY pass??? That doesn't change the fact he has bad hands and drops a lot of passes. I can start linking videos that would make you (and only you) think Damp has the deft of David Robinson.

How does that video of Damp hitting a three pointer have 26,000+ views?

Yeah, your thoughts on Chandler are obviously 100% identical to Jthig's...

If jthig doesn't think that Chandler can have a season like 2007 (and I'm not even sure that's what he means) then I disagree with him. But you're right when you think that people will respond to thig with a different tone than they would with you. Ask yourself why that is.

Here's an idea, go on RealGM, post on the Hornets and Bobcats boards, and ask them for their assessment of Ty. If you don't want to watch the games or take my word, ask the impartial fans of his former teams.

Yeah, obviously Cadbane is a HUGE Charlotte Bobcats fan (oh, and I guess he watches a lot of Warriors too, because he's apparently seen all of Anthony Tolliver's games...)
Does he watch every NBA game in the league, or is he just a psychic who knows which players the Mavs will have eventual interest in (or at least rumored interest in) and study them closely so when the day comes that their names pop up on an internet chat site, he'll be armed with an infallible opinion?

Forum trolls, especially the ones at RealGM, are a great indicator of a player's (especially ex-player) talent.

Every year, there's at least one person who's convinced that the board is some sort of oligarchy where a few long-time veterans just agree with each other and shut everybody else out. It's pretty funny, mostly on account of how absurd and untrue it is.

How does that video of Damp prove his point that Chandler can't catch the ball?, is the better question.

Duh...one video of Damp hitting a three means that ten videos of Chandler being able to catch the ball and score are moot. Simple mathematics.

Time to start focusing on Carmelo?
Quote:
Sources: Carmelo Anthony likely to go
By Ric Bucher
All signs continue to point toward the eventual divorce between Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets.
League sources say it is now a matter of when, not if, Anthony and the Nuggets will go their separate ways.
Anthony is weighing whether to sign a three-year, $65 million extension offered by the Nuggets. His dilemma, league sources say, is what affords him the best chance of continuing his career elsewhere. Anthony could sign with Denver and convince the team to then trade him. His other option would be to not sign the extension, thereby forcing the team to move him rather than risk losing him next summer as a free agent.
During his annual basketball camp in Colorado on Saturday, Anthony said he had no timetable on when he'll decide whether to sign the extension.
In either case, "he's going to make it real clear that he's not coming back," said one league source.
But both Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke and Anthony already are well aware that they don't have a future together, sources say. That became clear to Kroenke at a reception after Anthony's July 11 nuptials to La La Vasquez in Manhattan.
A series of toasts at the wedding reception, initiated by New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul, suggested Anthony leave Denver for the New York Knicks. Paul suggested it playfully, one source said, but subsequent guests -- including Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire and Anthony's brother, Robert -- made the point more forcefully.
Then Kroenke stood up to give a toast and the room was filled with an awkward silence, one wedding guest said. Kroenke tried to make light of the situation by suggesting Paul could come to Denver but that elicited no response.
While Anthony stood and applauded Kroenke when he was recognized, he apparently did nothing to discourage or dismiss the suggestions that he should leave the Nuggets.
"There were other people saying, 'We're going to get you guys together,' but it doesn't become a runaway train if Melo says something," said one source. "Maybe he didn't perpetuate it, but tell people to stop or say, 'Stan, I'm sorry.' He didn't do any of that."
Paul has since met with Hornets management and appears less eager to leave New Orleans, but all the signals from Anthony are that he would like to be in a different uniform this season.
Wedding signals included.
Anthony's agent, Leon Rose, could not be reached for comment and the Nuggets declined to comment.

Well, unless Carmelo is smart enough to realize that Dirk is a much better player than Amare... (but if these guys were known for their smarts, then Dirk would be in Miami right now instead of Bosh!)

I think it's less likely though that CP3 goes to NY. It might be too much of an asking price or it might not work out financially for them to get BOTH Melo and CP3. I've always said Tony Parker is the thriftier buy if it's between Parker and CP3.

they know Nowitzki. Kobe, Michael, DIRK." - Jeff Van Gundy

Eh...there were a bunch of suitors for LeBron and teams that were competitive that had cap space. I've barely started looking at 2011 but I doubt the crop of big spending teams will be as enticing as this year's bunch was.
Plus, it would be the inverse of LeBron.
Ohio was home for LeBron and he left...NY IS home for Carmelo and he has the chance to go back.

I think it's less likely though that CP3 goes to NY. It might be too much of an asking price or it might not work out financially for them to get BOTH Melo and CP3. I've always said Tony Parker is the thriftier buy if it's between Parker and CP3.

Wait, didn't the Knicks just re-hire Isiah Thomas as a team consultant or something?
Suddenly, there's plenty of room for New York to screw this up...

They WERE but it fell flat. Stern was going to put the kibosh on it anyways because it was a conflict of interest.
Isiah is still going to advise Dolan whenever he calls Isiah, he's just not going to have a title or get paid for it.

That still leaves enough opportunity to botch the whole thing - Isiah Thomas is kryptonite to that organization...

Isiah is that, to an extent. Dolan has been the common denominator through the whole process. He brought Isiah on and despite ALL of the issues Thomas brought on to the Knicks, Dolan STILL loves Isiah.
I was going to talk about that whole NY fiasco on my show today, but I ran out of time.

Count me out as far as wanting 'Melo. Good, talented player, but if he's someone that's going to politick his way out of his (cushy) situation, no thanks. I'm tired of these "superstars" thinking they should get the 6-year contracts AND their choice of destinations... shame the Cleveland and Toronto GMs were so gutless this offseason.
