Lmfao. Mavs want Derrick Jones as their sweetener. Memphis gets a 1st and a better player on an expiring vs a guy on 2 year deal.

GS gave up 3 1sts, or 1 pick with lowering protection each year?

Grizzlies GM seems smart. All those picks and still has the Iggy contract to trade later.

We are going to use incomplete information to trash the Mavs FO?
There may have been a pick or more attached to that Miami trade.

Is the MBT aware that free agency started 6 hours earlier this year?

Well We have seen 2 shit trade proposals and Miami has next to zero assets outside of Bam and Herro. So unless you're saying we were getting one of them yes, our idea of a sweetener for 15+m of cap space is pretty shit.

Per DBcom Calculator, #Warriors shedding of Iggy opens up $22.2M for D'Angelo new salary - $5M short of his max. Another move to come for them.

Fed up with the Mavericks. Nothing has changed since the 2011-12 season. Still just more disappointment. Why salary dump Harrison Barnes when we don't do a damn thing?

Are the Mavs afraid to make a deal until Kawhi makes his decision? Beverly/Green are both in play for us depending where KL goes.

Yeah, I've always liked Iggy, but damn, I like this trade for the Grizz. I'd like it for the Mavs even better compared to what I've heard so far involving the Mavs.

Might be very well be that they have a deal on the table with one or both and that limits what they are able/willing to do with the various trade scenarios. Dragic and Iggy are too expensive but Olynyk and Jones are not.

This is how you be a "dump" team....
Golden State is trading Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies, league source tells ESPN. Warriors are sending a 2024 protected first-round pick in the 2024 (protected 1-4), 2025 (protected 1) and 2026 unprotected.

Everything is such a mess right now that we're all gonna shit ourselves out of pure joy when we settle for this year's equivalent of Ellis/Barnes... Just remember how we talked ourselves into it when we fail to trade said player at the next 3 trade deadlines.

Looking like, and I hope at this point, Mavs are starting over tomorrow. Only with most of the talent off the table.
If they still do a deal with MIA, I hope they are able to send THJ or CLee. And also grab some better talent in the deal. Like Winslow or Bam. Otherwise, F Miami.
I'm still hoping for something like Beverly and Green. Seems to me though the Kawhi's decision makes the difference with these two (that is if these players are interested in the Mavs). If Kawhi goes to LAC, then I see Beverly staying. If Kawhi stays in Toronto, I see Green staying (if they offer him a long-ish deal). If Kawhi chooses the Lakers or somewhere else, then maybe there's a chance, but then it would still suck having to compete with Kawhi with the Lakers. The best deal is probably if Kawhi stays and then the Mavs just overpay these two and give 4 years.
At this point, who objects to giving 4 years to both Beverly and Green?

Don't raise our hopes! He isn't saying anything until tomorrow, and Mavs are what... his 6th option? Not happening.

I'd give them 5 if we could.

I'm sorry but I have more faith in Donnie making trade deals than signing FAs.
Donnie's trades are usually pretty good on paper so I don't see the trades with Miami(as reported) as something Donnie would attempt.
There has to be more and Donnie must be holding out for something that makes sense and is beneficial.
We rarely don't come out on the short end of Donnie trade deals on the day the trade is made. Noel, Odom and Rondo trades were all pretty damn good trades at the time.

Ok there are many overpaid deals here... but I don’t get why we didn’t try Bogdanovic, Ed Davis or Derrick favors.
I understand that they want to keep cap space for 2021, but still you need to instill a winning trend to attract good FA.

@KeithSmithNBA: Hearing the same thing as several others that the Dallas/Miami/Philadelphia trade that involves Jimmy Butler is dead as it was structured. Dallas may be out entirely, leaving Miami and Philadelphia to find a new 3rd team.

It could always be worse, I suppose...
@wojespn: Free agent Bobby Portis has agreed to a two-year, $31M deal with the Knicks, agent Mark Bartelstein tells ESPN.
@BibsCorner: Not a knock on Portis but they signed 3 PF today.
@NickVanExit: The New York Knicks
Julius Randle - 3yr $63mil
Bobby Portis - 2 yr $31mil
Taj Gibson - 2yr $20mil

I'm shocked. I thought the Knicks would go back to tanking immediately and roll over their cap money

JFC...
@townbrad: Circled back to source: Scheduled Mavs-Beverley discussion did not occur tonight, most likely due to time-consuming Miami-Philly-Dallas mess. Unclear where Mavs stand with Beverley, but doesn't sound as promising it did entering today.

Their contracts are all 2 years or 3 with 3rd being team option. They are angling for summer of Giannis.

@BlakeMurphyODC: Green's podcast co-host @HarrisonSanford clarifies that Mavericks, Lakers, Clippers, Raptors were all in contact today.
@rhylanrowe: It’s so hard for me to shake the feeling that Danny Green is a product of some Spurs Voodoo Shit that is programmed to stop working if he ever puts on a Mavs jersey.
