I like Roddy as a person, and will never forget the hope he gave us when he dropped 40 on the Warriors... but Seth Curry should get burn ahead of him unless he absolutely tears it up.

No one saw Roddy playing in France but everyone judging him allready where he should be in the depth chart. Interesting...

Well, a few counters...
1) he's two and a half years older than Curry
2) curry was producing in the NBA this past season
3) not that hard to pull up Roddy's Euroleague stats ( http://www.euroleague.net/competitio...asoncode=e2015) or remember how injury prone the guy is
So, I don't think it's that much of a reach to say he shouldn't get burn ahead of Curry in SL or during the season unless he absolutely lights the world on fire (which, quite frankly, is a doubtful proposition at best)

I was one of the die-hard Roddy guys, but he'll be a minimum guy and should be treated as such.
If he's the best available option for the last roster spot, why not? I mean, if he gives us nothing as #15, who cares really. He still has a home at Frisco, knows the organization, culture, coach, Dirk. Maybe that's more important down the depth-chart than finding a sleeper with great value.
That said, I don't think we need that much help at G. But heck, feels like we pile up on little guys every year. So...

If he can at least shoot 3's I'm all for him being last guy on the bench.

What a disappointment. He had that monster game against the Warriors. But just never could develop his game. Who knew Barea had more upside than Beaubois after that game and year for that matter?

Barea didn't have more upside, it just turned out that way. Roddy had a much higher ceiling, but injuries and lack of mental strength derailed him.

He was a great talent, that's for sure. Monster wingspan, probably the quickest player in the league at one point, and had a jumpshot, but that bone injury did him in. He never would have become a star, because he didn't have the intangibles and the elite ball handling, but at worst, he would have become one of the best 6th men in the league, and an extremely dangerous scoring guard form the bench. It didn't happen.

Actually, I think he DID develop his game. He seemed to get 'it', there at the end, then had that finger fracture.

Talent was never in question. He went the Devin Harris route of injury ruined career.
Let's hope KP isn't going down the same path...

We would've beaten the Spurs in 2010 if Carlisle plays Roddy instead of Barea. I will go to my grave saying that.

Agree. That's when I started becoming a lot more critical of Carlisle and his decisions. Jason Kidd was probably the best thing that ever happened to Carlisle. He was able to run the offense entire games, and after the Mavs won it all in 2011, RC got a free 10-yr pass in Maverick land. :-/
