*Juliet speaks in Latin
Locke: What are you saying?
Juliet: John...please...
Annoying.

So....when Widmore told Desmond to back into hiding, that he was in to something that's been going on for "years and years" and he should stay away from it.....do you think he knows that Desmond will lead him to something of interest (like Ben and the O6)? That he knows Desmond won't simply just go away? It seems like he could be playing Desmon, or he could be genuinely concerned for his daughters safety.
Do you think Desmond has to go back to the island?

Desmond didn't arrive at the same time as the 06...he isn't part of them. I could see how he wouldn't need to be on the island. Having said that, Dezzy is in this thing til the end. And bet he either dies or becomes the next "Richard".

2 possibilities to me:
1) Widmore thinks desmond will do the opposite of whatever widmore says because desmond hates him. So now widmore will tail desmond and try to get what he wants.
2) Widmore knows desmond is special and a possible wrench in his plans, so he wants him out of the way. So he tells him to stay away.
I'm leaning toward #1 myself.

I thought it was obvious that Faraday was saying those things because he thinks it will keep her alive. Maybe become her constant? He probably would do anything to prevent what happened to his wife from happening to someone else.

You're saying he doesn't actually love her? I strongly disagree with that.

Did they say that girl was his wife? I totally missed that.
He obviously loves Charlotte. They've been dropping those hints since last season. Not even subtly.

Why do people assume Charlotte needs a Constant? She hasn't been exposed to high levels of radiation or electromagnetism, that we know of, and the Constant was needed as a result of leaving the Island. They're not leaving the Island. I wouldn't assume that it's the same illness.

She's not the best actress, for sure. It's funny how the Lost cast sort of has multiple tiers in terms of acting ability. I don't think any of them are terrible, but they range broadly from "really incredible" to "less than mediocre."

I don't think we were calling Elizabeth Mitchell's acting into question...it's the writing. That's what I thought we were talking about anyway...
As for Charlotte...I certainly think what she's going through is at least related to the time traveling sickness that Desmond and Minkowsky experienced...but not the same thing.

Right. Didn't the guy that died from exposure to the "energy" in the past (when they were drilling) have blood all over his face that came from out of his nose?
Same deal with Charlotte. So maybe not necessary from the time travel itself, but the general exposure to the "energy" perhaps.

Yes. This^^^^^
I'm quite certain the producers confirmed or hinted around as much during a podcast last year or something like that. It wasn't sickness from the bomb, and it wasn't the supposed sickness that the fake vaccine was for either, I don't think.
On our little tour through the history of the island, I suppose we'll be seeing younger Rousseau? maybe?

I got the impression from Rousseau that whatever sickness was occurring was debilitating in nature... so much so that she ended their lives to put them out of the suffering. It appeared that Charlotte just flat died (assuming she is dead) and didn't really suffer other than headaches.

exactly...no way the LOST writers would let a player slip away without a ton of fanfare...

Well, that "blank stare" look that sike mentioned as can't be attributed to flaws in the writing. I just don't care much for her screen presence, both when she's delivering lines and when she isn't. Just my opinion.
Fortunately, the worst actors who have been on the cast have for the most part all been killed off over the years. And the cast members with truly exceptional ability have been given progressively more integral roles, which is probably not a coincidence.

Right (except for Charlotte being dead, imo).
I believe Rousseau talked about them going out of their minds so she put them out of their misery.

Here's a theory from that idiot at EW regarding the Lawyers trying to take Aaron. I assume they're back tonight.
Quote:
....Any-hoo, back to Dan Norton (The Dad From My So-Called Life) and Mr. Agostini (Pursed-Lip Quiet in the Background Guy). They're working for someone — but whom? Doc Jensen gives you the odds!
BENJAMIN LINUS Remember, Ben promised to help Jack with his Kate problem — i.e., persuade her to go back to the Island. He'll likely start by giving Kate an incentive to abandon the security of her off-Island life. Threatening Aaron would do that. ODDS: 2–1
CHARLES WIDMORE Penelope's dastardly dad is searching for the Island — and he's going to force Kate to help him find it. The court-ordered blood sample is prelude to a blackmail deal. Kate's choice: Work for Widmore, or he'll expose the truth about Aaron, and by extension, the Oceanic 6. ODDS: 4–1
SUN She wants vengeance for Jin's death. And while she says she doesn't blame Kate, I'm not convinced, judging from that vaguely menacing scene in ''The Lie.'' Threatening Aaron would certainly destabilize the nice life Kate now enjoys at the late Jin's expense. ODDS: 7–1...
|
I hadn't considered that it was Sun who was doing it...that would be interesting, but I agree with this guy: The smart money is on Ben.

If I watch Lost tonight it will be late. Mavs/Portland with the way the Mavs are currently playing takes precedent.
Hope the wife agrees.

I have to watch Lost. I have this paranoid fear that my dvr isn't going to work correctly so I have to watch in real time. If I miss a mavs game, I can enjoy the next game just as much but if I miss a Lost episode...well...you know.

I am so behind on tv already. I missed Fringe last night and 2 scrubs due to going to the Stars game...I missed 3 monday shows as well.
I may watch LOST tonight live...I can catch most of the first quarter, action during commercials (with wife yelling at me that "we're going to miss it, turn it back!") and then the 3rd quarter will start right around the time it ends.
I almost have to watch it with my wife because she asks a lot of questions. I keep telling her to read the LOSTpedia episode guides from week to week but she says it's easier to bug me.

My wife is largely frustrated by Lost so it doesn't take much to convince her to wait until tomorrow to watch it.
And we're way behind on tv as well. I need to drop a few shows.

My wife got to the point where she just says "give me a basic rundown on what happened". My recaps are like hurley's 30 second recap in this year's season opener.

Dude... don't you have a FiOS HD DVR? Don't know if yours is the same, but if you are going between 2 channels you can pause one and go to the other... then return to the other and unpause whenever you want. To do this, first go to the Mavs game, when it starts pause it during the first commercial then punch in the Mavs game channel (not sure what that would be, but you have to know the number). Then you can pause the Mavs, and click the "Prev" button to go back to the ABC channel with the broadcast still paused.
The key to this is you must then ONLY use the "Prev" button to go to the other channel to flip between the two or it messes it up.

Oh believe me u2, that is a feature I love.
But that doesn't make my wife any less crazy
(and if you're suggesting I pause the Mavs game, watch the entirety of LOST and then go back the first quarter...I don't like that. I like to watch sports live. It's just this thing I have)
