"The Sacramento Kings have agreed to trade DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, a 2017 first-round pick and a future second-round pick, sources told ESPN." --Stein

Wow only 1 1st lol. I'm not a fan of Hield. And Evans is an expiring I believe. I'm positive the Kings could have gotten better a year ago.

This is the worst trade for a franchise-caliber player in the history of the NBA

Terrible trade for the Kings, but I don't blame them for trading him. You can't invest 200m in a guy who isn't getting you into the playoffs and is a head case on and off the court.

I'd rather invest 200 million in him then I would any combination of players they are going to have to waste it in. You can't tell me this is the best deal they can get. Mavs had a shot then. I would've gave them anyone they wanted plus first rounders.

Makes no sense how Kings did not end up with top3 protected 1st round pick and lottery protected 1st round pick. This trade would have made sense if DMC was expiring.

Pelicans only have 25 more games this year unless they can make the playoffs. 82 next year.

@ClevisMurray: Pistons attempted a deal with Andre Drummond to the Kings for DeMarcus Cousins. Kings said no. (Via Michael Scotto - Basketball Insiders)

Just straight up for each other? I'd want a draft pick from the Pistons.

@tim_cato: Vlade Divac said the Kings had a better offer for Cousins two days ago. "I don't want to discuss in details about the process."
@SeanCunningham: A lot to chew on after hearing from Vlade Divac. He had a better offer that fell through with another team. Settled for N.O. next best
@dkurtenbach: Yep, Vlade actually said this.

This is certainly the best story of the next 25 games. Two equally plausible possibilities: either he excels and Kings made the worst decision of the decade while NO becomes relevant again with twin towers OR Kings were right and he really is the biggest locker room killer in the league. It's like Rondo but with higher stakes and most importantly-- it's another franchise putting their money down.
It's like walking by a roulette wheel and seeing a guy drop $50,000 on red

Great gamble for Pelicans. Hield just isn't that good. What a weird trade.

Butler is probably going to Celtics, but good lord would be a nice addition to this team. Don't think we have the assets and haven't been mentioned in the trade rumors.

Well apparently Shumpert did the same thing. So maybe players are just bored and are trolling the world.

My guess is that Shumpert is gone. I'd wager Butler staying is 50/50. Dude doesn't seem like he has a place on the new Bulls, but he's also their best player.

Take it for what it's worth, but I read that Jimmy Butler took all things Bulls related off his twitter page.

@ZachLowe_NBA: Magic Johnson and Larry Bird can now negotiate trades against/with each other. Wrap your head around that.

Source? I see one source saying a second and Sham says "a pick"
Regardless, rockets are one step behind the Warriors. They think they can compete, so win now

It's been like 30mins and I've read more garbage from twitter/forums from Rocket fans about how getting lou freaking williams was a steal and " morey getting the best of magic" than I have in days over the Cousins steal from pelican fans.... an actual steal.
My God I hate everything Houston.

Rockets are as trashy as their fans.
Still, I see them getting out of the first round so there's that.

I once thought Eagles and Spurs fans were the worst on the planet, but Houston fans by a mile.
And yet they don't show up to watch their team play. Is there any worse fan than one who won't pay to watch their own f-in team when they're 3rd in the conference? 21st in attendance. Pathetic.

I dunno, man -- Houston fans never booed Santa Claus... Philly is a special kind of nasty.

I'm pretty sure Santa is just incapable of landing in Houston thanks to the bubble surrounding James Harden.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the Butler to Boston talks. Apparently Ainge won't give up Jae Crowder. Crazy if that really is the deal breaker.
