@sam_amick: A sign and trade between Dallas and Houston will not be happening re: Chandler Parsons, I'm told. The Rockets have the offer sheet.

We can only absorb with cap space. We don't have enough with Dirk and Devin's deals to take on Parsons and Lin. They wouldn't take back Wright or anything else to make it work if they want to sign Bosh.

Doesn't surprise me. Morey is an ______. Don't understand how anyone deals with him.

Gotcha. I was under the assumption they wanted Wright in the SnT.

Gut feeling is James is going to Cleveland, and that means Bosh to Houston, which means they match Parsons.
Just feel more and more pessimistic about it.

|
What you're missing is the fact that if Houston took back Wright and Felton (which they wouldn't do), that would close the door on a Bosh signing. In order for the Rockets to afford Bosh, they really do have to pretty much clear the roster (Beverly, Harden and Howard excluded.)

I don't understand the over worrying about "helping out a rival."
It seems to me that you make your team the best you can in the offseason, and then let the players handle the rest on the court. If we become a better team, and in the process also help Houston, that's still 28 teams we improved in relation to. As for Houston, let the players take care of them on the court.

Is the report about the Asik trade true (that due to the new salary cap being slightly lower than expected that trade couldn't be completed)? Because if so, Houston has a LOT of work to do in the next three days, right?

Yep, it's true... Everybody keeps acting like it's a given that Houston can just unload these poison pill contracts, but that hasn't exactly been the case so far.

My understanding is that the Asik trade will still be on. New Orleans just has to move one player which shouldn't be an issue.

I don't have particularly high confidence myself. Glad the clock has started, though. Hopefully the remaining FAs of interest continue to exercise a little patience in anticipation of the Mavs' cap space opening up again Sunday night.

It seems silly that Morey wouldn't stall us either way with S&T talks. I guess the FO probably had a time limit for such negotiations.

I would like Chandler Parsons in Dallas, he is very talented. Can score from shooting the 3 or off the dribble to the basket, and he is athletic. Even tho Luol Deng was my first option because of his defense, I would take Parsons as Plan B tho. The pressure is on Houston, but I think Houston would match the offer, I was surprised when the Rockets declined Chandler's option last month

Morey trying to buy another half day with this, pfffff. Cuban for sure gave a time deadline for any S&T deals.
Still believe James is going back to the Cavs in the next two days, Bosh signs with the Rockets and they match Parsons. Alexander pays three years the heavy bill while they trying to get a ring...

@BenRogers: Donnie Nelson tells us the deadline for Houston to match the Chandler Parsons offer sheet is Sunday night at 11pm
@espn_macmahon: Numbers on Chandler Parsons offer sheet (via @MarkDeeksNBA): $14.7M in 2014-15, $15.36M in '15-16, $16.02M in '16-17

On a fairly substantial sample size (~1000 votes), over 60% of Rockets fans don't want Morey to match the offer.

Man thats so long from now...Hope Morey doesnt match at 11pm, and Cuban is screwed out of Deng/Ariza sweepstakes.

If we can make it through the ~72 hours between Games 5 and 6 of the '11 Finals, we can make it through this.

Won't take that long though. LeDecision is reported to take place tonight and then the dominoes will start to fall rather quickly.

Well, dont see Deng or Ariza signing somewhere until sunday for less than 13m. With them knowing we are willing to pay Parsons 15m, they wait to see if Morey matches. If this happens, they know they can have a big payday in Dallas.

Btw.: Twitterverse latest is Rockets match Parsons only in case they also get Bosh?
Sounds strange, but makes sense actually. It's either all in for the next years or they free cap to go a completely different road.

jOShi - I don't know about that.
The Mavs included a hefty trade kicker that would make it very difficult to ever trade him and a 2nd year player opt-out. They would have Dwight and Parsons as potential free agents if that occurs.

Who is reporting that? Don't see it anywhere reputable.
