Wright > Chen

Wright has more upside as well, he's younger and he has had stretches where he's looked really good.

What stretches has he had during his career in which he's looked better than Chen's best stretches? And yes, he might be younger..but he's not young by any stretch of the imagination. Their careers aren't even comparable.. The only thing that's comparable between the two is that they both sucked last year. Chen sucked worse, I will give you that.. but, I don't have alot of faith in Wright capitalizing on his 'talent'. I do agree that he has superior stuff, but let's not forget that stuff only gets you so far...

Personally, I think Loe will end up being the 5th starter sooner rather than later. I hope that Wright does work out. But the last time he's had an ERA under 5.00 while pitching in a complete season was in 2001.

Wright's not great, but I'd take him over Chen. He had starts last year that really showed his potential, he's got some pretty solid stuff. He's definetly a serviceable spot starter, and could fill in the #5 if Loe isn't ready yet. I just would rather have Wright than Chen if I were you guys.

I think Jamey Wright is one poor outing from being off this team. He completely bombed late in spring training.

I'd rather have Chen than Wright. Hell even if they were equal, which they're not, you take the lefty.
