Carlisle leaves the game and the kiddoes get to play. You be the judge: was it Carlisle or the blowout?

I was distracted for a minute when Carlisle got thrown out. Was he complaining that Barea got held by Howard?

Magic starters were in until the end, stat padding?
However, no chance without Dirk!

Pretty much KG.
If the Mavs lose, I'd rather Carlisle just let the youngsters play and get experience. Go ahead and play Kidd only 30 MPG. And trot out Ian and Ajinca and Jones for at least 10-15 minutes.

Figures that he would go ape on that call, of all the piss poor calls. Barea is his boy.
Cuban/Donnie have to make a move to dump Barea and/or Terry, and do it soon. Carlisle believes in both of them, and it is a big blind spot.

This is how they get their inflated MOV/Hollinger stat.

Carlisle is going to play the players he has. What would you have him do?

Please let it be JET...well both but JET is a MFing moron. If he isn't hitting ridiculously lucky shots while on one of his streaks then he is destroying my spirit world.

@KG and BAyliss:
No it was an accumulation of horrible calls and non-calls. No doubt we choked that game away in epic fashion but RC was obviously tired of watching and being part of such a debacle. JJB was hugging Howard while yelling at the ref 10 feet from him to call the intentional foul. That was the straw that broke the camels back.
The refs were worse than the Mavs in that 4th quarter!

It's starting to look like the Lakers are gonna take the #2 spot in the west by default.

Nah..Van Gundy is just trying to get the playoff roster as much playing time as possible since they missed training camp and the first quarter of the season..

Right...I hear it in the arena put Mahinmi/Ajinca in for JJB..Even my buddy was yacking about it. The mavs have about 4 guards total right now and only two that can dribble and make a shot (jjb/jet). Folks are just gonna have to live with it until they get dirk back.. Then at least they have a half-court option that has to be double-teamed.
If this team allows anyone to score 100 on them they are going to get their ass kicked...tonight they allowed 117 and the magic took their foot off the gas from what I saw...
The mavs defense just gave up. I'm sure that is why jet/carlisle were having words when he yanked jet for jjb. The damn guards are going to have to play a heck of a lot better against orlando.
Chandler was pretty bad tonight as well, he let howard set up shot about 3 feet from the basket...you might as well not even play the dude.

It's a long season...they'll overtake us in the short run..but we'll see in the longer run. It's no big deal either way to be honest, just be healthy and in the top 4.

Carlisle was NOT happy after the ejection....or the post-game talk with the media.

If it were up to me, Dirk would have been the MVP every year since our finals run. Every team since then would perform like this or even worse without Dirk. Especially our roster from 07-09.

I used to be able to find the postgame quotes on the mavs page but I sure cannot anymore. Does anyone know where I can find them? Are they on nba.com?

That's not a direct result of the trade. That's why I said they weren't the favorite (which I still don't think they are, but at this point it's not crazy to say they are).

Perhaps the non trade players are playing better because the players traded effected their team negatively. Chemistry is very important. To often people look at the individual pieces's alone. The term that the sum is greater than it's individual parts is generally true. But that does not apply if the individual part does not fit in. This is the main reason that I incourage caution when making trades based on a players numbers on a specific team that might not always translate positively to another team. They might still get those numbers but at the expense of less than trade off reduced nuimbers from their new team mates.
Hedo was in fact a player who's value to the Magic was greater than his individual numbers showed. He fit on that team like a glove. It was a mistake for them to allow him to leave and smart for them to get him back. Example! Most people think that the Kings fortunes changed when the got Webber. Well to a degree he was a good acquistion but the player that was even more important for them and had the greatest impact was Valde Divac. They could and did win without Webber but they couldn't without Divac on the floor.

Good stuff. I don't think having Carter has ever helped a team over-achieve. Gortat could also not be the most enthusiastic bench player in the league there as well. By all accounts, Hedo and Gilbert must be delighted and good soldiers to be in or back in Orlando and JRich seems like a good guy in general.
