PJ Washington deleted his twitter pics.
I'd actually be surprised if that didn't happen. It makes too much sense.

PJ is such a Mavs move
Inefficient offense. Bad defense. Only slightly improved rebounding but much of that is that our forwards are five out and not around to gobble boards. He could actually be worse than DJJ in every way.

What do we have...about 11 days left to make a move?
I hope they don't think the current roster is fine and that injuries are what is keeping us from winning.

I expect a move with some of the end of the bench guys (Holmes, maybe Curry?). They will spit out how injuries haven?t allowed this team to mesh and we haven?t seen their full potential. 1st round exit assuming they even make the playoffs.

Go listen to Mark on ben and skin podcast that DHWS posted. Cuban thinks this team can be "really good" when theyre healthy. He is still delusional.
Im sure they will make some kind of move but i doubt it will be what we are hoping for.

Actually, injuries are what is keeping us from winning, but that isn't an excuse as every team deals with them.
If Kyrie plays last night, then IMO we win. So when will he be fully healthy? And Green is always hurt at some point. And Maxi. And so on.
I just don't see a trade that makes us much better or that we can make. Kuzma and Jerami aren't happening. PJ scoring 43 points on a 10 win team doesn't move the needle for me. We don't need scoring. We need rebounding and defense.

Yea. I have very little interest in offensive players unless we (please god) trade Thj and we get a PF with some 2 way abilities. Or if we move Irving, but the FO wont do that, so we will have to keep getting better defenders to surround our back court.

I think what you're saying and what many of us agree with is that fact that THJ is the death knell of this team. And he absolutely is. Worst past is he might win 6th man of the year which all but guarantees he won't be moved.
I'm almost inclined to see what Kidd does without Tim...like he did with our WCF run.
Problem is Tim has no trade value. Just look at what the Clippers had to give up for Normal Powell to prove that. Basically nothing. And the Mavs aren't attaching Hardy or Green just to dump him. What a crappy position to be in.

6th MOTY sounds ridiculous to me personally. It would be nice if that award boosted his value, but unfortunately GMs arent stupid. At this point, idc what we get for him, he just needs to be moved on. Id MUCH rather have a younger guy like Hardy, Green, Lawson missing key shots and turning the ball over. At least you could justify a reason for it.
He is31 year old and hasnt really developed and rounded his game out much since entering his prime.
If you made a poll that had every team member and said we could all pick 4 guys we need to move on, i bet the results would be aligned...so its not a secret which players highly contribute to us being stuck in thr mud.

One thing that you can conclude about Kyrie is that he's a player that will not play unless he's almost 100%. And at the stage of the season, most players are far from 100% so it's unwise to expect much from Kyrie in the coming months. Maybe playoff Kyrie will choose to tolerate the bumps and bruises in the playoffs. But if the Mavs aren't careful, they may not get there.

Yep, Terry Stotts resigned 4 months into the job, in October because Griffin had screamed at him in front of the team after a huddle, closing a morning shootaround. Griffin asked the coaches to hang around and have a coaches huddle after. Stotts went to Giannis and Lillard to discuss the offense. Griffin screamed at Stotts to join the huddle.

Stotts has been around a while. For him to cut bait and roll out, says a lot.
That said, I wonder if JKidd has even yelled once behind the scenes, in practie or film room etc. Ive never seen him get heated during a game. He appears eerily like Rick in that aspect, which is peobably due to thr amount of time he was around RC while playing here.

I think the players like Kidd which is the hard part about getting him fired. And his minutes distribution has been his single strong suit this season. I wish OMax and Holmes would get more chances, but other than that, you can't really complain about players not getting minutes. I mean, Hardy, Green, AND Lively all started against Sacramento.
The only way Kidd gets fired is a total collapse record-wise. Not even sure .500 does it because iNjUrIeS.
So the next best thing is to move THJ. And still...a long shot.

I understand the black hole that is THJ, but isn?t his contract decreasing every year of his deal? No contender is looking for bench scoring for a playoff run? I?m sure Cuban wouldn?t trade him for a bag of chips, unfortunately. I feel like he has to have some kind of value around the league, but I guess history says otherwise because his name comes up every year at the TDL. Almost makes me think that the FO views him as an asset and we should get the better end of the deal.

BR trade needs for Dallas
In short, the Mavs probably don't need to blow anything up ahead of the deadline. Tweaks, assuming they're the right ones, could get this team back on track. It's still less than two years removed from a conference finals appearance.
The tweak Dallas needs is something like the New York Knicks' acquisition of OG Anunoby (though there may not be another player like that available).
Dallas is 20th in points allowed per 100 possessions, and while Lively isn't blameless there, he's a rookie who's still learning the quirks of NBA rim protection. Where the Mavericks could really shore up defensively is on the perimeter.

Who the fuck is going to yell at Luka or Kyrie?
That'll get you fired more than anything else

Well that crosses out Washington, Kuzma, Jerami, and any other names I've seen.
I'm guessing you could re-visit getting Thybuille for cheap, but is he any good?
I still think rebounding is more important right now because it's more solvable. Perimeter defense is a trickier addition.

Perimeter defense is reason #1 on why I brought up Kyrie in a trade. Its why i dont think Kai and Luka work. Its not because I fail to realize that Kai is pretty badass when healthy. You can kinda hide 1 player on defense, kinda. But you cant hide 2. Its pointless to get a defensive minded rotation guy. Luka and kai get all mins and will always be on the floor in crunch time. I also have no interest personally in anymore 1 direction players. We have a team full of those guys and have for a while.

Kyrie doesnt need it. He has a good attitude. Hes not the best defensively but hell, he is being asked to be switchable defensively as a 2 guard next to Luka who is the worst on the team at staying in front of their man.
Pop, Malone... I mean there are some that would get their point across even if its not exactly yelling. Those 2 examples arent available atm, but point is, there are personalities and levels of respect that coaches demand. JKidd has been here long enough to figure out a way to slow down Lukas not getting back on defense because he needs to berate the ref and mope around etc. If holding Luka accountable could get you fired, then we need to point the finger closer at Cuban or the FO for enabling that environment.

My biggest issue with Irving and to a lesser extent Exum is these guys haven't even remotely taken the load off of Luka. The entirety of the Irving trade should be giving Luka some rest.

That SHOULD be the idea, but the coach negates the potential benefits with his rotation and lack of play designed or lack of play calling.
Luka should not even be on thr floor for the entire 1st quarter and it doesnt take a rocket surgeon to see it. Idk why he doesnt come out a bit sooner to preserve some fuel for later. We arent good enough of a team to manage his minutes late because it seems like scores are always close. Minimize his minutes early so you at least have the option later.
Moot point regarding Kyrie anyway. We needed a solid ball handler, preferably with size and versatility. Instead, We got one of thr best handles in NBA history but it came is a small package. I would have rather have had a taller 2 way SG with less offensive skill than Kyrie.

i know he's got a huge contract but would Ben simmons work here?
We need all the Aussies but aside from that could he be a small ball big for us? he does a lot of other things we need including defense, rebounding, and handles

Hellll yes he would work. Hes versatile and highly switchable on defense. He has back issues though and hasnt played a full season in a while. I doubt teams have a lot of interest in him. In theory, if he were healthy, it would be a killer fit here.

From post game comments, it sounds like someone got into the teams ass at halftime. It might have been J Kidd but go figure, they turn up the heat on defense and the effort was night and day in 2nd half.

Ben would be great but too much risk imo.
We already have a former Net who is out more than in.

Maybe some wiggle room to get Kuzma.
https://twitter.com/TheDunkCentral/s...29102472134909
And we have a good trading relationship with the Wizards.
My thing is that once we convey our pick this summer, then we'll have three first round picks to trade. Might be better to wait.

Kuzma is nice, and if its the best deal we can do, they have to highly consider it. We dont have time to fvck around before Lukas contract talks fire up. Time flies by when youre getting your sht pushed in trying to build around a superstar.

*7 games and on pace to play 13 games in 23-24
Last year he missed 40 games
Year before was all 82
And he's earning 38 this year and 40mill next year.
Healthy, he's absolutely perfect. He'd have to play C here with his lack of scoring, but he's an elite defender, a great rebounder, and could be the missing piece with our ball movement as a point-center/point-forward. But yeah, he's massively overpaid and almost guaranteed to miss more time than even Kyrie.

So he would be a perfect fit. Right next to Kyrie on the bench (and everyone else).

Rumors are ramping up on twitter. Crazy one floating about lebron nothing legit tied to it or any teams.
Also Kyrie was answering questions on his discord. Used the Nic Cage meme flowing hair to describe being with the Mavs
I?m starting to wonder about Kuzma. Provides scoring and size. Especially when Kyrie is out.

Yeah, saw both of the Kuzma and Lebron rumors which means we're getting DFS.
