I see all these highlight plays and a couple teams (Atlanta, Houston, Cleveland, Orlando, Golden State) have been rocking their throw backs...when was the last time Dallas put on their old jerseys? (Not the silver ones)

You know, I'm watching the Nets (hopefully about to get their first win) and I realized that Marv Albert didn't call the Mavs-Nets game on YES the other night, for some reason. I knew he was their announcer, but I didn't think about it. He's back tonight announcing their game.

Great game between the Lakers and the Heat. This is one of those RARE times that I will be cheering for Wade and the Heat. They better not lose.
Edit: Of course, they lose. Damn.

Absolutely lucky. Kobe even said it was.
Wade missed the FT before it. But I guess he's not a choker (I know he had a huge 4th...but if that's Dirk)

I don't care if it was a little bit lucky, it was still a ridiculous shot.

Yeah, I saw it and started cursing, but it was one of those inhuman skill things that's a ball breaker but you can't get too pissed since it wasn't a defensive lapse.

Phoenix getting destroyed by LAL right now. 20 point margin at the start of the 4th. I don't know which team I hate more.

on second thought, I'd love to see Phoenix come back and punch LAL in the gut with a win at this point.

Uh, yeah. I remembered you went to war with this whole board when it happened, so i'm not going to go down that route again. The whole point of that post was not to argue whether or not he overpaid to get Nash, it was meant towards Colangelo being good at his job. Even with the edition of Nash, nobody, even the Suns, thought they'd be as competitive as they were. And before Nash, Pheonix wasn't a contender since KJ was there in the 90s.

Kaveman weak from lack of Vitamin D
Quote:
Clippers center Chris Kaman found out recently that he suffers from a Vitamin D deficiency.
Vitamin D increases the flow of calcium into the bloodstream and helps prevent bones from becoming brittle.
The condition robbed Kaman of energy and left him not nearly as effective as he was earlier in the season.
"I wasn't as active," said Kaman, who scored 20 or more points in seven straight games earlier in the season. "I was tired and the fourth quarter came and I didn't have the energy."
Kaman now drinks Vitamin D milk and has been prescribed antibiotics, including herbal supplements.
|
Really chuckled at this one. Let's see, He's a caveman lookalike, he's is ghostly looking and he suffers from lack of a vitamin that is absorbed through exposure to sunlight. Who knew?

Bass another DNP and Gortat got 5 minutes and did jack.
If those guys can't get minutes against the Clippers, then they aren't a serious part of the team.
I just think it's great how many thought that the Magic swindled us this summer. Who is laughing now? They have 50 mil invested in two players who can't get minutes against the Clippers.

thanks for the update - I am taking serious pleasure about this situation. VanGundy is overplaying
D.Howard and needs to utilize his other players. The season is a marathon............

CP3 will be out for the playoffs because the Hornets aren't making the playoffs. Not this year at least.

Oh, but the Magic were going to turn Gortat into a great option at power forward!
Well at least that's the song the Magic trolls were trying to sing this summer. Otis Smith sure is a genius alright.

As much as I hate this damn otis, I guarantee you he will find a way to turn the gortat deal into a trade to some team that needs a center. I.E rockets, golden state, charlotte, miami, toronto, philly,
someway somehow, and the world will herald him a genius once again blah blah blah.....my point is there is always options to cover your butt in the league and Otis will find a way to make this ugly mess up look ok. c'est la vie.

Yeah, like Lakers 2.0. Trading Butler for Kwame in an idiotic move and then getting Gasol with the Kwame expiring because die league didnt have much big expirings during that deadline, blargh.

Not if Gortat continues to play the way he's playing. He's killing his trade value.

You're absolutely right. But he's not getting many minutes and the scarcity of productive big men in the league guarantee him the benefit of the doubt. Worst case scenario, teams still consider him a (better than average) big man. That's worst case scenario. So he can only go up. DOn't forget, this is the same league in which we were able to pawn off segana diop(granted for matt carroll) but we were able to. Heck, we just recently pawned off Jawai to get out of that contract to a team that needed a big man desperately.

I wasn’t trying to suggest that they can’t move him. Like you said any big can be moved.
I'd just prefer the trade to be of the Matt Carroll variety where they exchange a terrible contract for a bad one. In other words I don't want the decision to match to work out for them. Back in July fans on one of the Magic boards had this pipe dream of matching them moving him to Houston for Battier in December. As ridiculous as that was back then it's even more laughable now.

This post is 10 days old, and the Lakers have still only played 4 games on the road. They finally get a big road trip next week.

Random Observation: I saw James Johnson for the first time the other night...he looks like he hasn't touched a weight since he was drafted.
Strange Box Score of the Night: Dwight Howard played 41 minutes and was only credited with 1 FGA. Did the Suns intentionally foul him every time he was in scoring position? If so it appears to have worked since he shot 8-17 from the line.
In other Magic news Bass picked up another DNPCD and Gortat played 7 minutes.
edit: funny post from a thread on a Magic board titled "We Want Bass": is there some way we can email Stan Van Gundy and collectively ask him to insert Bass for defensive purposes.

Kind of. They doubled him some. And fouled him when he was real deep. Thing is, D12 has NO post moves outside of his 4 step sweeping hook shot. It's pathetic. If he doesn't change that, his career will go downhill real quick around 30/ a major injury.

I'm with you on two of the three but I think in the long run Denver is going to be a bigger roadblock to the number 2 seed. I would have rather seen them take the L tonight.

Not to mention they're the despicable Nuggets!
I think they really benefitted from a non-call on a Nash-drive on the last phoenix posession.
And although I tend to agree with you, when you look at their schedule of games played, there are not many wins against respectable opponents for the Nuggets, so they still have to prove a lot. Their impressive home win against the lakers stands out, though.

Roy was complaining about how the offense seemed to go through Oden now more than him and how he was sacrificing too much... I guess he got his wish. With that in mind, he's 9-25 and 8-24 his last two games. They've lost both.

This may have been discussed already but I just noticed the Lakers have played 17 games at home and only 5 on the road. That means they'll have to make up for that with alot of road games later.
We've only played 11 at home, and the most any other team in the NBA besides the Lakers have played at home is 14. Phoenix has only played 8 home games with 16 on the road.
