I'd probably throw some money at Oubre at this point. Nice player who had a terrible start last year, should be a good fit next to Luka.

Lakers pick up Kendrick Nunn. Unbelievable. He must fit under the salary cap rules by being the Lakers Special Mid-Level Exception to be sure they win the Championship. Seriously, how are they paying all these guys???

More Lakers moves: - Talen Horton-Tucker has agreed to a 3-year, $32 million deal to stay in LA, per @Adrian Wojnarowski. - Kendrick Nunn has agreed to a 2-year, $10 million deal, per @Shams Charania.

Mavs absolutely should not give up a 1st round pick or Green/ Terry for Dragic.
I'm going to be in the minority here, but failing to trade for Dragic is not an indictment on the Mavericks based on what I'm reading. Raptors don't want Powell/ WCS and believe they have leverage with Dragic having value on an expiring deal.
The news that Powell is highly thought of in the organization is the Mavs trying to spin this into something it isn't. We won't do this trade because love Powell vs. we can't do this trade.

Meanwhile we paid 30.5 million for Reggie Bullock who would probably play for free for the Lakers.

Yeah....
This is my issue with this crap.
IN years past they'd wait out free agency and settle for guys like Reggie Bullock. These morons this time went after Reggie Bullock first like he's some prized free agency acquisition they can't live without.

I am choosing to believe this as the reality.. It is the more nuanced explanation and reality is usually much more nuanced than initial perception (Dwight = Cuban's movie buddy). I think the Mavs have had players that were beloved and had no problem trading/not resigning. Not to mention, Nico is supposedly in charge.
This is the Raptors wanting the best deal they can get.. not wanting Powell or wanting a young piece we aren't willing to give up for Dragic, etc.
I think getting Dragic would be great for this team and Luka.. but I don't think he is worth giving up any real medium-high potential assets for, unless another player gets added into the deal to come to the Mavs.

The Mavs have really become the Cowboys of the NBA, except they do have a superstar... for now.

I can't even say the Mavs are the Cowboys of the NBA because at least the Cowboys can draft. They can draft star players. They rarely trade their draft picks. Hell they can even trade well.
The Mavs situation is worse because it feels like purgatory. How do you get better when you get 1st rounders every other year and when you do you draft trash and you have no trade bait? This is the worst place to be as a fan.

Whether its true or not is irrelevant. I Think the frustration is coming from how they are running this team. Its base don the MAvs actions not a article...

Yeah you're right we're getting Kawhi, we just have to have faith!
Give me a break, there's optimism and there's stupidity and you are way over that line. No one cares about the Dallas Mavericks except the fans. There's no one left in free agency we failed yet again it's over I was right you're wrong you should apologize.
I'm not even sure why bpo's posts matter in why people are pissed and I really don't even know what you're referencing exactly. There's no one left in free agency for us to get. What don't you get about that?

I am not a THJ fan. However if the Mavs had not signed him quickly, someone else would have grabbed him, and we'd be even worse off. I don't think throwing money at either DeRosan or Lowry would have convinced them to come. At least the players we did get fill roles we need filled, and are tradable pieces.
That may have to be the strategy going forward. Assemble tradable pieces and pounce when trades become available. Mavs managed to turn DSJ into THJ and KP. Since players aren't choosing to come, we have to trade when they have no choice.
I don't think Luka is the problem. I think its Dallas. When I worked for a major corporation with offices in NYC, DC, Mia, Chi, LA, ATL and SF, people transferred to Dallas asked for hardship pay.

Maybe I'm in denial., but I refuse to believe this is a money thing. The Mavs are probably literally more valuable than they've ever been. Luka is a freak Lebron/Bird/Magic hybrid and will probably be a multiple-MVP winner.
I think (and hope, if we're being honest) that the Mavs are refusing to give up a valuable asset for a player that the Raptors will buy out if they're unable to trade away.

It's the same for everyone. It seems if you double click submit reply it usually will go to the screen that you posted the same post in the last 5 minutes, and then it won't post a duplicate that usually works but you have to time it right.

Dallas Cowboys are the richest organization in all of sports in the entire world. The Mavs are nothing compared to them besides, Jerry usually makes his good players the highest paid player at their positions in the league and no big free agents since T.O.

I think Dragic is still better than JJ Reddick and would love to trade Powell for him. But if they want additional assets, then I understand why there's a hold up.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Free agent guard Kendrick Nunn has agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, source tells ESPN. Deal includes a player option. Nunn turned down significantly more money to chase a title with the Lakers.
Guys at the end of the Lakers bench are going to be better than some teams starters.

The Cowboys are among the most popular and most valuable teams in all of sports. When they are on TV, ratings skyrocket, because for decades, they were the only NFL team south of St Louis. That meant they were on TV every week in ATL, NO, and every mid-sized southern city. When they play in PHX now, Cowboys fans almost outnumber the home team. That's why Troy, Moose and Romo are all on the top football broadcasting teams. They have a storied history. All that trumps the Dallas disadvantage.

That's a weird list but I've decided not to get into my reasons that I disagree with it other than most of the players on that list are from a decade ago and I meant players today. I have others reasons but I'm going to not mention them.
