Rhylan, what I mean is it seems like for every hour broadcast on sports radio:
15 minutes dedicated to sports
30 minutes of promotions/commercials/upcoming events
15 minutes of nonsports talk (ie celebrities, etc)
It just gets old.

Including new Roddy B audio from today's practice, and a guest appearance from Mavs.com beat writer Earl K. Sneed.
You can wait for the podcast tomorrow, or have way more fun listening live tonight from 6-8 CST, right here: http://www.highway377.com/mor

While you have EKS's ear, tell him to find a better editor... reading his writeups is painful sometimes. /grammarnazi

Finally got around to listening to this weeks' show yesterday while I was working on honey-do's.
I have a couple thoughts on the merits and use of the three guard lineup:
1. I think JJ being horrific is the reason that we haven't seen much of the three guard lineup this season.
2. Now that JJ's playing his tail off, and Stevenson is reverting back to what he is, I think you're going to start seeing it more often. And I'm ok with that, because I think with Chandler and the improved zone we are more equipped to make up for the defensive shortcomings that the three guard lineup brings us.
3. When Roddy comes back, you're going to have a fourth guard that needs minutes, which could make the three guard lineup with different sets of guards something we see relatively often. I'm actually pretty curious what a JJB/Roddy/Kidd lineup would look like.

There will NOT be an episode of MOR today. We are holding back until Thursday for a MOR, Trade Deadline Edition. Mark Followill and Jeff "Skin" Wade will jump on and talk about all things in the Mavs Universe and any crazy stuff that goes on during the trade deadline.
Get ready for Thursday, it will be good stuff!

Tune in to MOR from 6-8 pm CST. Mark Followill is jumping on right at the start of the show and Jeff "Skin" Wade will finish out the show with us. We're talking about the deadline and what the Mavs have going forward.
Followill said he might have some predictions in store about the team going forward.

Tonight's show is published - check it out on iTunes or listen here: http://ballinwithbryan.podomatic.com

Our Trade Deadline extravaganza is chock full of NBA shenanigans with Mavs implications from top to bottom. TV voice of the Mavs Mark Followill joins us early, and Jeff "Skin" Wade of ESPN 103.3 jumps on late, helping us cover it all. Ball, burgers, opinionated canines, and more ball. An oversized show for an oversized day in hoops.
Intro - Trade Deadline Talk (w/ Mark Followill)
22:17 - Vet Buyout Options (w/ Mark Followill)
46:15 - Mavs Mid-Season Report Card
1:02:06 - History of Mavs Deadline Deals
1:11:07 - NBA Nuggets (Rondo, Hall of Fame)
1:19:00 - All-Star Weekend Thoughts (w/ Jeff "Skin" Wade)
1:34:07 - Trade Deadline Talk (w/ Jeff "Skin" Wade)
1:43:26 - Western Conference Outlook & Mavs Angles (w/ Jeff "Skin" Wade)

For those who are downloading and listening...first off, wow, there are a lot of you crazy guys. We appreciate it and we're glad you are taking to the show so well.
We'll be back on Monday with a normal edition of MOR.
Are there any subjects/topics you want us to discuss? We could use a good Ask the Hosts segment, it's been a while (email us at MavericksOutsiderReport@gmail.com).
Let us know!

6-8 pm http://www.highway377.com/mor
We'll be getting back in the Mavs groove after the shenanigans of the Trade Deadline Special. We'll talk about Cuban's latest beef with the NBA. We'll look ahead and the playoff rotation and the role points in the paint plays a role in things.
Be sure to tune in!

The amount of breaking news during this edition of MOR was sick...
I love the Azubuike bomb, total game-changer. The electricity literally changed within the TJBC studio due to the aftershock.

We tried to avoid conflicting with a game, but 4 games in 5 nights made that tough. May as well just fall back to the regular 6-8 Monday time slot. Called Barry Switzer for advice, and he said, you gotta job to do, and you gon' do it, baby.
Do you really wanna see the first half of the Minny game anyway? DVR it and get your MOR fix live.

You guys should have the game on while you broadcast and comment on it live, interspersed with your usual content.

We are not scared haha...
But really though, the schedule made this week kind of beast. When you add the normal weekly work routine, it gets troublesome.
I'm DVR'ing the game and going MOR power live...it'd be incredibly awkward to go the other way around.
We'll be talking about the week that was, Roddy and where he stands (hot topic around these parts), where's the bee...I mean where's the defense?
All that and a bunch of other audio greatness. Dirk has usually been the "victim" of untimely audio capture...this week: It's Marion.

Yeah, we've talked about doing that in a special edition show later in the season.. bring in a couple of additional voices and do some live game commentary / analysis / shenanigans.
It would really only be of interest to live listeners, which varies dramatically from week to week.. if there's adequate interest we'll probably do it.

That means...we need some more live peeps

We've had some pretty awesome live listenership on several weeks, and some less.. it's helped us when we've stuck to our normal timeslot of 6-8 MON and the Mavs' schedule hasn't helped us with that lately.
But.. listening to us instead of a game is a different animal altogether since we're all Mavs fans and the games are the center of everything. I think it'd be fun, but if people are religious about game watching habits, it'd be good to know.

I'd love to listen live, but being on the west coast, I'm still at work or on my way home during the live broadcast.
If I had a choice between watching the game live or listening to you guys, though, I'd choose the game. :P

I'd be all over it, although I keep having conflicts on Monday evenings with tonight being no different.
My favorite parts of the Ticket Compounds were always when they'd live comment on Mavs games.

Monday's just hate you
It's an idea we can still work on. Like Rhylan said, it just depends on the demand for it. We're hopefully getting our big brother on as early as next week for his regular monthly call-in. I'm also working on getting another member of the Mavs to call-in at the end of the month.
We started working a pretty sweet idea for a season-finale...the ball is rolling on that.

This week's episode is published... check it at http://ballinwithbryan.podomatic.com or via the subscription that I'm sure you've already set up. Heh.
-------------------------------------
Huge week in Mavs land, with four games in five nights, questions about the defense, and Roddy Beaubois' role as he gets back into running shape. BG manages to bulldoze his way through traffic armageddon to get to the studio just in time to drop the ballin' sweet science on all of us.
Intro - Game Recap (PHI, IND, MEM)
23:13 - Roddy B PT
40:04 - Mavs Defensive Woes
55:05 - Potential First Round Matchups
1:12:00 - Nuggets (Games in London, Heat need Kleenex, SSAC)
1:34:26 - Game Previews (MIN, NOH, NYK, LAL)

I can't stress enough how down to the wire it was on making the tip off haha. 114 was a beast and a half due to someone spilling their slurpee and everyone freaked out. I had to take the back way to the TJBC and once I finally got back on 114, the Jetta was free. I broke at least 3-4 traffic violations in the process, but I put the headphones one right as the intro was finishing up...classic.

For the record, I know a Raptors fan - one of my friends from college. He was from Toronto, though, and I think it was more out of obligation than anything. This quote from him sums it up nicely:
Quote:
do you think there's an association between jurassic park and the raptors? the first movie came out in 1993 and the team was established in 1995. so embarrassing
