It was Nasty Nester again. He (Gordo)was trying to make nice and Nasty grabbed him by the throat. He (Nasty) is now being escorted by Police.
I know Gordo won't press charges, but I wish he would.
edit: they are talking about it now...

Super Bowl week never disappoints.
Gordo really was being quite civil and then all of a sudden you could hear that something was very wrong.

That was some hilarious radio!!!
I agree, Gordo should press charges, and could the "Ticket" actually press charges against "Nasty Nester's" station for assaulting an employee of the "Ticket"
Maybe they can get some type of restraining order placed against Nester to the point that he could no longer cover the Superbowl...or at least make it a major pain for him to do his job at the SuperBowl.
This was pretty funny and Kudos to the "Ticket" for bringing the police into it!!!

Checkout the front page of www.theticket.com
They put up an ad really quickly asking for video of the web cam.

There's always someone running tape.. let's just hope that they get a good look of it on video.
This is good radio.. It's just too bad that it didnt' happen earlier in the show. I want to hear more about it... sorry about the typo, I just don't feel like scrolling up a line to fix it.

Rhynes almost left The Ticket?
http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/spor...e_rhyner_a.php
Quote:
After months of flirting with 105.3 The Fan and coming this close to leaving the phenomenally successful station he almost single-handedly launched 15 years ago, Mike Rhyner tonight reached an 11th-hour contract agreement with Cumulus Media that will keep him at 1310 AM The Ticket for the foreseeable future.
Multiple times over the last 30 days The Ticket's founding father had his bags packed, seemingly destined to accept CBS Radio's overtures and take sidekick Corby Davidson and the wildly popular Hardline to be The Fan's 3-7 p.m. afternoon drive show.
"It was close," Rhyner told me moments ago. "Very close."
Rhyner, whose existing Cumulus contract was to expire Feb. 20, wouldn't elaborate on the specifics of his new deal. He did, however, admit to long nights wrestling with the decision he at one point called "one of the toughest things I've faced in my life."
"The Fan made a really strong run at us," Rhyner says. "I mean, really strong."
Stalled negotiations with Cumulus and the lure of The Fan's deep pockets and 100,000-watt FM signal pushed Rhyner to the brink. Loyalty - and a sweetened, buzzer-beating offer - brought him back.
"They have a whole lot going for them which we just don't have," he says of The Fan. "But this thing was causing me massive angst and as it played out I saw the reason why. In the end game, I just couldn't do it. I couldn't turn away from The Ticket. From what we've built here. From the fun we have here. From the guys who I've been with for so long. From the great radio that goes on all throughout each and every day. From this crazy thing we've developed with The Ticket audience, which is unlike anything anywhere in the radio business. You can't buy those things. It would have just crushed me had it come to that and tonight I'm one thankful S.O.B. that it didn't."
With the dramatic departure of original host Greg Williams, the recent divorce from the Dallas Cowboys, long-time assistant program director Mark Friedman's exit and Rhyner's looming contract Armageddon, The Ticket has been unsettled recently. Some at the station, sensing what they felt was Rhyner's inevitable adios and Davidson's late reluctance to leave with him, even labeled the recent 15th Birthday Party a "last supper" and last weekend's Ticketstock a "farewell tour".
This move to secure the station's signature voice, however, seems to pave the road for The Hardline ratings monster into the unchartered PPM future.
"The exciting thing is," Rhyner says, "our work at The Ticket isn't done. We live to fight another day."

So Bob and Dan almost got their due.
How unfortunate. And I hate saying that because I'm a P1, but the Hardline isn't as enjoyable as they once were (many moons ago). Danny gives me a headache. Corby is about the only bright spot about that show. Rhynes is just there.
Don't get me wrong though, I think the station would have to recover obviously had he left. But Bob and Dan are wasted in the afternoon shift. I wonder if Corby would have followed though...?

Totally agree. I'd hate to see that happen because of the history of the Ticket, but I'm ready for BaD to take over afternoon drive. They're the only show I care about anymore.

I like Bob and Dan, but they're number or 2 or 3 on my Ticket depth chart. They're definitely behind dunham and miller for me.. Not sure whether or not I'd put them ahead of Norm. It's close. The Hardline..well, I suppose I kinda listen to all three stations from 3 till nappy time.

I like George....and I like Gordon...but Craig beats me. He just comes across as such a dick, in my opinion.
You know what I would like? The George and Bob show, with Corby as yuck monkey.

I just don't have any use for the morning show. Never have.
I'm enough of a sports nerd that I need a baseline of good sports talk to go along with the shtick, and the only decent sports talk the Musers ever bring is football talk, which doesn't interest me enough.

I do listen to it on and off during my morning drive, but I don't have a very long drive.
It's just never been a show that I will make sure I catch. They're obviously very popular so it's just personal taste. They're just not knowledgeable on the sports I'm most interested in, and I don't find any of the three particularly appealing to listen to in general.

For anyone that reads Sturm's blog regularly, if you're wondering what his cryptic post today means, here is your explanation.
Inside Corner is off to a great start with its Ranger coverage, so I'm pretty excited to see them add Sturm in an attempt to round out their sports coverage.

Am I the only one listening to the Ticket guys' basketball game against the Lake Highlands varsity girls? This is HILARIOUS.

The Ticket was up something like 23-16 at the half. I listened to most of the first quarter and the girls were really struggling with their shooting, including a couple of missed wide open layups. I imagine that were pretty nervous in that setting.
That's one factor that I thought was being overlooked. While the Ticket guys may be old and out of shape, they're used to performing in front of large raucous crowds. I'm not sure the same can be said for the average girls high school basketball team.

I listened to the whole second half. The girls absolutely destroyed them in that second half. Corby turned his ankle in the first half and had to leave to go to the ER.

I turned it off after the third and it was still tight. What the heck happened? Did they just get too run down?
I wonder if they tanked a little? I mean...what's the satisfaction in winning in that situation?

The girls really hit their stride, and it sounded like everyone on the Ticket just completely ran out of gas. At one point they apparently had a four on zero fast break.
