Grossman cost me a W too, all I needed was an average game from him and he didn't come through.

I just made a big move. I'm interested in hearing your comments.
First, my rationale for making the move. I'm sixth in the league, right on the edge of playoff contention. (Six make it.) My kicker (Wilkins) and my defense (Chicago) are both on bye. I can sacrifice the week, but who knows if that might cost me in the end. I do have good depth on my team, and I figure now is about as good a time as any to make a deal, especially if it gives me a win this week.
My team pre-trade
Vick
Grossman
Favre
This is my Achilles heel. Vick and Favre are maybe okay. And Grossman has been good thus far, but he sucked ass on Monday night.
Steve Smith
Boldin
Chad Johnson
Berrian
I have depth here to spare. We start two WR's and one flex spot.
Gore
Chester Taylor
Dunn
Maroney
Lamont Jordan
I might have a little bit of depth
Gonzalez
Geez. When will this guy ever do anything?
And then Wilkins and Chicago.
So I dealt:
Grossman
Dunn
Boldin
for
Carson Palmer
Travis Henry
This allowed me to cut Favre for a kicker or defense. (I chose Vandercrap.) When the trade goes through, I will be able to add a defense. I will be in contention this week.
I expect Palmer to pick up his stats and have a good second half. I expect him to be my starter just about every week from here on out.
Henry, I don't know. He has come on like gangbusters the last couple games. Can he keep it up?
So what do you think? Not just considering the players involved, but also considering my roster and the choices afforded by my depth.

henry was good, but lendale white also didn't play last week. the game before, white got a good share of the carries. but like you said, you have depth at RB, so who knows if you'd even start henry.
not a bad trade. boldin's value will never be higher (he's good, but that monday night game was insane, and fitzgerald should be coming back soon).
you definitely upgraded at QB, providing the bengals somehow realize how to play offense again.

I think that the loss of Boldin really hurts you..the running back loss is no big deal, you might consider replacing henry with a WR though, because berrian seems kind of risky.

Ok, gimme some advice here.
I have Tatum Bell vs Cleveland, Kevin Jones vs Jets and Barber vs Dallas.
I'm leaning towards Bell and Jones, because those are great matchup, and I really do believe that Dallas will make things hard for Barber. Plus I don't like playing someone against my real team, just for karma's sake.
Also, my normal defense is the Dallas defense. I'm worred about this being a high scoring game. I can pick up Arizona to play this week (against Oakland).
Any thoughts?

I'd definetly start Kevin Jones, and I'd probably go with Barber. I'd also pick up Arizona, because the Raiders offense is just flat out terrible.

Okay...I have a choice to make and this week I can't play a Tight End so I'm short.
Terry Glenn against NYGiants
Deion Branch against Minnesota.

I'd go with Glenn there. The Giants will do everything they can to take TO out of the game.
Then again, I'm the guy that has the wild-ass Carson Palmer playing, while the three-touchdown Vick is sitting down.

What the hell happened to Carson? Is it his knee? He went from the next superstar of the nfl to Drew bledsoe. Ugh... Plus now hes throwing to some guy named Kelly and Stewart instead of Johnson and TJ both of whom i own on different teams. Carson palmer is dead to me...

I wish I knew what happened! Their whole offense looks terrible, with the exception of Rudi. Maybe they are missing Chad Henry more than we knew? Probably not, because the way Palmer is slinging it around back there it wouldn't matter.

I know it's not the right thread for this, but there's no need for another one just to say: GO TAMPA BAY!! Hold those Iggles off, baby!
Palmer is finally getting his head out of his ass a little bit. Such a slow, slow start for him. Now if he will just get Johnson a score!!! But at least you got a Hoozy score there, Matt.

Under 4 minutes, TB has the ball in Iggle territory. Let's go Bucs!
Edit: Matt Bryant kicks a 44 yard field goal to put the Bucs up 6 with 2:49 to go. Let's hope the Eagles famed two minute drill runs to its standards.

At the last minute I took branch. Had a bad feeling about glenn for some reason and his production has been pretty steadily declining as bledsoe has gotten comfortable with owens. I may need to trade him right quick. I'm still hurting for running backs with Alexander being out.

Simply not fair.

Yeah, Steve Smith is awesome, he's my favorite player. Such an explosive receiver, he just does it all.

They said that his whole game is like only 90%, he's still getting used to getting back into the season since he didn't get to do as much in training camp. Most of it though is their horrible offensive line, he's getting no time back there at all. His knee is only giving trouble on his first step back, but once they get the offensive line thing sorted out and he's played a couple more games, he'll be fine.

I am making a HUGE comeback and now have a chance to win, thanks to Chester Taylor taking one 95 yards. I am down five or six points. I have Taylor going and he has Edge James going, and I have Vandy tomorrow night. I figure I'm about 50/50.
Too bad I played Palmer over Vick!
Ward had a career day. He can't keep that up. I wonder if D-Jax can keep his season up in Seattle. I keep waiting for him to crater. Did they lose Hass for the year?

He was also in the Cowboys camp once. He wanted to make that one for us.
Where's he from, League City? Good to see a Texas boy do well.

I don't know the extent of it. I was just emailing my buddy who has Hass, and that's what he was lamenting. But he's the kind of guy who sees the worst in everything, so it's probably not fully the case.
I am going to win, it looks like, after making that trade and freeing up space to get a kicker and a defense! ARI gave me 16 points (unless that changes), and I have Vandy tomorrow. I need 4 points to win. That's just a FG and a PAT.
Or, more likely, four PAT's!!

It turns out it's a sprained right knee, so he shouldn't be out for too long, thank goodness.
