So, MJ gave Dirk a HUGE compliment.
And how does the MAVS local media react ? The local media carves MJ's 4 player's list in stone ? (like it should).
NO !
The mavs local media tries to downplay it and put it into perspective,
("but but but, MJ is so wrong", "but but Nash, Garnett, Paul should be on that list !", "and other players, too" "and after all there is too much buzz about MJ's 4players list" "Dirk on that list is...surprising" blah blah blah...)
MAVS outsider report was the negative icing on the cake... ugh.
Instead of inviting Mark Followill, you should invite "Dirk hater" Ben and Skin...and Sefko, Gooselin, Cowlishaw, Sherrington and Jean-Jacques freakin Taylor, too. And try to ridicule MJ's list even more.

Fwiw, the list was severely incomplete. Not everything that comes out of MJ's mouth is truth or gold.

MVP = Dirk, Duncan, Kobe, Lebron
Champion = Dirk, Duncan, Kobe, Lebron
finals MVP = Dirk, Duncan, Kobe, Lebron
Gotta simply respect MJ's list. And as a MAV, even more so.

Ok but as a realistic basketball fan and huge Dirk and Mav fan, IMO, it is incomplete no doubt.

That's a bold statement for someone with a whopping 60 posts on this board, and in the "Random Dirk is Great Thread" no less.

Wouldn't be hesitant to say VC> Dirk this season at all. But VC has had a full offseason of training leading up to the season. Dirk basically practiced for a week and a half after knee surgery.

I feel as though this forum has more trolls than legitimately ardent mavs fans...I mean I get that they're being sarcastic 90% of the time, but seriously, c'mon guys. Is there anyone left on here capable of engaging in a somewhat intellectual basketball conversation, or are you all (most of you, anyway) simply too mentally handicapped to comprehend anything other than what you hear on sportscenter?

Oh wow, so implying that an injured Dirk<healthy Vince automatically makes me a troll?
I know criticizing Dirk is like treason here, but I didn't even mean to disrespect the German at all. It's just that Vince has won more games for the team than him so far this year.

Well the title is accurate now. It is extremely random when Dirk is great. Hasnt been in 2013 so far. May be that randomness will appear in 2014....

Look for a transcription from Dirk tomorrow on TMG, discussing the future and how this summer is very important for him and the organization.

I love the efficiency of Dirk, 11 from 19 today, love those numbers.

Report on the game, as the Lakers saw it --
Speaking of Dirk, he too was brilliant in this game, scoring 30 points on 11-19 shooting including all 4 of his three pointers. Dirk also grabbed 13 rebounds and did a good job of helping the Mavs close out defensive possessions after the Lakers missed shots. Down the stretch of this game Dirk hit several big buckets of his own — at one point on twitter I called the Kobe/Dirk back and forth a battle of the gods — and really kept his team in the game when it looked like Kobe’s play would have allowed the Lakers to pull away.
The difference for Dirk, though, was that he didn’t get much help from his teammates — especially his partners in the starting lineup. Shawn Marion (6 points), Darren Collison (7 points), and O.J. Mayo (8 points) combined for only a single point more than Nash scored and could never really put anything together offensively. The play of Mayo and Collison (combined 5-20 from the field) was especially disappointing if you’re a Mavs fan simply because they were directly matched up with Kobe and Nash and could not only do little to get their own points, but also gave up big nights to their counterparts.
