I was thinking that too. We'd have to score 130+ points a game. It would be fun to watch.

But he still averaged more PPG than Reggie Bullock, and Sterling Brown is a guy who averaged 8 ppg on the worst team in the league. I'd wager 98% of fans didn't know who these two players were before we signed them.
And that really isn't bagging on them. I like them as end of roster moves. They really don't move the needle and logically aren't the help Luka really needs.

Brunson completely disappears against teams with longer defenders and good defense. I'd get rid of him, but EL likes him and loves his stats.

I think that the reality of this offseason is the Mavs will continue to be a jump-shooting team, that may or may not be on hitting 3s on any given night. Seems to me that the MBT should just embrace that identity for the coming year and attempt to add another shooter to the roster. They desperately need another PF, so I say they work on making an offer to Markkanen. He wants to be a Mav and he has no future with the Bulls. I don't know how they make this happen (maybe with the TPE?), but it could very well be the case that the Bulls would be happy to just lose his salary given the moves they have made this offseason. He does not address the most pressing needs the Mavs currently have, but he will fill an important role by adding depth to the 4 position. If that doesn't work then Georges Niang might be Plan B (assuming he hasn't signed with anyone).

Yeah in a vacuum they are fine moves. But these are bench guys that we will probably ask to play above their heads. Same result itll be up and down season depending on the 3 ball nightly.

Markkanen is better than any other big we have not named KP. He has a better handle than KP and moves more fluidly. I'd be good with us getting another guy who really wants to be here.

Apparently the new head of rumors Jake Fischer said the Mavs will sign Dragic after he is bought out...assuming he is bought out.

The layman's terms is Luka and the B squad is still out in full force.
But I guess we are hoping for Dragic to be bought out.

I wanted Milsap last year. He’s up there in age, but brings toughness and vetern leadership. Can knock down the 3 ball. I still think we should see what Marrkanen is asking for. At this point we just needs assets that can be flipped when one of the big name all stars become available.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Free agent G Reggie Jackson plans to sign a two-year, $22M deal to return to the Los Angeles Clippers as soon as allowable at 6 PM ET, agents Aaron Mintz and Erika Ruiz of @CAA_Basketball tell ESPN. The deal is the maximum LA can pay Jackson under CBA rules.
I expected a bigger payday for him after his PO run

Lauri Markkanen wants to leave Chicago Bulls, reveals to Yle that he has received offers from several clubs. “I want a new start to my NBA career”. Markkanen, who has represented the Chicago Bulls for four seasons, revealed to Yle Sport on Friday that he hopes his career will continue somewhere other than the Chicago club

In theory, If we got Markkanen it makes the rest of our bigs more expendable. We could take less in a trade off and not be concerned.

And now Stein says Raptors have no intentions of buying Dragic out. Yikes.

I mean, it could be Dragic by simply saying he does not want to be there. He's the one standing to not fully realize his $19+ million in any other scenario that is not playing for Toronto. He could easily force his way out via discontent.

It really comes down to Dragic. If he puts up enough of a fuss and is willing to forego the total of his contract, then he is gone. If he is willing to play ball with the Raptors, then maybe he stays. If Dragic wants to be a Mav, then he can be a Mav. Perhaps, just not on the team of his choosing along with a $19M salary. How bad does he want to play with Luka?
Edit: Maybe Luka will agree to skim a bit off the top of his new supermax contract and give it to Goran as a Christmas present. There fixed.

Bulls restricted free agent Lauri Markkanen tells Finnish journalist @AJ_Sipila he wants out of Chicago: “We have offers from several different teams. I want a fresh start to my NBA career somewhere else.”
Take Powell or maybe Maxi

We are passed looking for pieces that move the needle. That ship has sailed....now let's see if we can get some cheap pieces and have them raise their value here to possibly be trade pieces. Thats Moses Brown.

It could be that he just wants to play with the youngest NBA superstar who can help make him a better player.
Just sign him now if his demands are reasonable and we can move on from KP.
It's refreshing to hear that a decent player wants to come here. Lord knows we don't hear that every off-season.

Most of the guys that signed cheap deals either stayed with their old team, or took huge discounts to go to the Lakers/Nets though. Those same deals wouldnt have been signed with us, or the rest of the league.

This is my thought at this point. Sign a young guy with potential. Is he similar to KP? Yes, but they might allow us to either dump KP, or dump Marrkanen if the right player comes available. We just need assets at this point.

He's probably going to be a real bargain for his potential. Those are the guys you get regardless of fit. Build his value up by playing with Luka some and move him if need be.

If it's true they are "resisting" trade offers so far for him then maybe the Locked on Raptors guy was right. They want a 1st for him. They won't get it and he will be bought out at the TDL.
