Not like our end of the bench guys can't be moved or waived.
However, I am still a bit surprised by the Bernard James contract.

I wouldn't mind if the Mavs start pulling a Jorge Soler or two out of their pockets.

After taking time to really think about it, I'm going to predict that we get 70+ out of Chandler this year. I think a combination of: - A.) leaving a toxic situation in NY
- B.) returning to a strong team environment with the best training staff in the league, and
- C.) being in a contract year
...will help Tyson stay mentally engaged and physically able to play more games and at a higher level than he has these past couple of seasons. We might not get 2010-11 Chandler, but if we got like 85% of his productivity and 100% of his leadership and enthusiasm, we're going to be considerably better than we were last year. And honestly, last year we weren't even that far away from being a real contender.

It's hard to isolate stats, because he's had so many injuries, but some of his best years came immediately AFTER a new salary and not before it. Between those stats and his general passion, I'd say that there is enough evidence to assert that he isn't motivated by contract years and may be one of the only guys that actually plays for pure passion rather than for a paycheck (along with Dirk, James, Durant, and a few others)
I'd say his return to form is most dependent on the following two things
1) Health - he needs to be as physically healthy as he is passionate
2) Environment - he calls this place home and we love him here. He plays well for us, leads our team and loves playing with Dirk and the rest. The change of venue should do wonders for him (even though he did play his butt off even for the lowly Knicks)

I love Chandler's attitude and think he will be a great mentor for Smith.
Smith has a great attitude as well and I'll go out on a limb to say he will be our best acquisition this off-season in terms of getting the best bang for our buck...that is if he stays healthy.

I had bookmarked this awhile ago and just last night got around to skimming through it. Comedy gold. I think page 317 or so is a good place to start. If you wanna get right to the meltdown, jump to page 338).

How can pants be simultaneously over-sized and form-fitting? Even in fashion, Carlisle mixes and matches to create the impossible.
Is that Finley I see from the corner of my eye?

Devin looks like he is nice shape in that pic.
And interesting to see Ellis look like a good inch taller than Devin since they are both listed at 6'3. Could just be Devin leaning or a weird angle, but still semi interesting for middle of September chat.

Harris and Ellis both have some kind of rubber straps around their ankles.

Are you serious? You mean they were able to take the exact same photo twice, with everyone and everything else in the room looking 100% the same? Not to mention how blurry the photoshopped areas look... It really couldnt be more obvious

Yeah, it's definitely photoshopped. The wrinkles on the top left of Rick's shirt look exactly the same in both pics.
Aaaaaaaand we need training camp to start...
