Luka is out tomorrow. Lively is doubtful.
A loss.
They will be fighting for a play in spot by the end of January.

I hope Brunson goes off for 50+ and destroys the Mavs.

I understand being frustrated at the FO/coach, but this goes too far.
You should ask ourself if you're still a Mavs fan.

As a sports fan in general, I just enjoy seeing a former player have his moment against his former team. Doesn't mean that I don't like the Mavs, nor am I emotionally unstable. Heck, I think there's more to fear regarding mental instability when you roll out the same recipe for success season after season and expect an improved outcome. Living and dying by the three while having a lackluster defense will result in .500-ish ball.

JB had an option to stay here. Imo, fk him. Id rather see him slip on spilled beer 5 times (no injury) than go off. I hope Kyrie lights him up.

I have no ill will toward Brunson at all.
He wanted to be a star. He was always going to be in Luka's shadow here and now he gets to face the bright lights of Knicks media. We also know that being on the same team as Luka is a challenge to say the least.
I wish him well. That said, I always cheer for the Mavs.

I enjoy seeing that happen in sports too, similar to when Dinwiddie hit the game winner vs Nets soon after his arrival with the team.
I like seeing Brunson go off, even though it stings bittersweet.

Well Memphis beating us was really dumb on their end. Their season is over, and it's like a Rick Carlisle move to win meaningless games.

And Ja's dad was dancing like they won the title. The nut doesnt fall far from the tree.
I would have the video of him dancing on the sideline playing in the locker room before every game on repeat. These plauers seem to forget the hard embarrassing lessons too easily

Actually happy the Grizz aren't tanking. Think of that crazy defense with all their guys back AND a #1 pick. That is one scary, big, long, physical team.

Saw a rumor about Siakam eventually going to GS. Which, honestly, if they have to pay him that monster contract. Go ahead. Depending on what they'd have to give up...can't see it saving their downfall.

Them: 47mill a year
Me: spits out the Sprite I pretend is champagne to be fancy

Yep. Josh Green. I called it. We need to move him to a team that will utilize him or have Kidd sit him and Luka in a room to figure it out.

I hate to say it but there are a few guys on this team that actually plays more freely without Luka
And think we all know who they are

I don't really buy it though. Exum handles the ball a lot and so does Kyrie. There is something more than just that.

It infuriates me... I have never seen a player get hit more in the face than Dwight Powell. I swear this mofo plays defense with his face and expects to be rewarded for piss poor defense/flopping.
We need to make a trade now... Dwight is a nice dude and a great teammate but he is not an asset to this team.

It pains me to say it, but Powell has been borderline acceptable lately versus the trash he usually is.

I won't disagree... He has played better but I feel like a big portion we notice that is because he's no longer being paid double digit millions a season.
We have players that are remembered for flopping like the Ginoblis, Chris Pauls, etc. What player can you name EVER in the NBA that has been hit more in the face than Dwight Powell?

Players are generally not just standing around with kyrie on the floor
That's the biggest difference imo
With Luka it's like they just want to get the fuck out his way and wait on a pass to come at some point

That's by design and not necessarily always on Luka.

I think it's time to trade Luka. He's not going to win a title in the NBA.

😂
Not trading him
But I think there needs to be more flexibility in the way he's used
By that I mean less ISO and more post up options for Luka with kyrie on ball more
I've always felt that Luka should be used in ways that Denver installs jokic on offense.
Luka is big and strong enough to be used vs smaller defenders like a big but the mavs rarely utilize him in that manner
Kyrie gives you the option to take Luka off ball more and I also believe defensively that Luka might be better off playing vs PF's on defense

So we trade PG Luka for PF Luka. I'm down for that move.

Thank God Dwight Powell secured the offensive rebound with his chin. No back tap on that one.

did Kidd draw up that inbounds play? not bad - took 6 seconds off the clock and Kyrie ended up getting fouled at the end anyway
