Always good to see other elite players in the league realized Dirk's greatness.
When asked who he would choose as teammates for a three-on-three game if he had to select one current player and one all-time great, Kevin Durant chose Dirk Nowitzki and Larry Bird. Durant then expressed admiration for Bird, the former Celtic great, saying he was one of his favorite players. “He does it all. Larry Bird, I like his trash talking, for one. He didn’t back down from nothing. He was the toughest guy I’ve ever watched.” Boston Globe
Rumors tagsOklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant, Larry Bird

There's no secret KD admires Dirk. I mean, he did have a first row seat in 2011 when he literally became the best player in the world for 2 months.

Really isn't a surprise. Durant has never been humbled by an opponent's individual performance in a playoff series the way Dirk did him that year. And probably won't happen again for a long time considering KD's the best right now.

This is an older article from Deadspin after the Mavs won the title. Not sure if it was ever posted, but I thought it was really good.

Did I read that Dirk now has 13 career game winning shots as time expired?

Did anyone catch the Inside Stuff edition on NBA TV this weekend that featured Dirk discussing his shot? Wonder if its online somewhere because I missed it.

From the article.
""It's great to watch Dirk play, but watching him work is incredible," Johnson said. "Everyone has heard about his work ethic, but until you've witnessed it, you have no idea. He loves the game, and he loves getting better daily. The three things I've been most impressed with are his basketball IQ, passing and vision on the court, and his leadership.

Dirk 14 years ago. So young and slim back then.

Final game of the season could have Dirk's top ten scoring spot in the balance. That would be fun.
Thanks for doing these Erica, I really like them.

Yeah, I have no doubt that Dirk will end up at least top-10 for his career. A few sub-22 point games and Dirk may not make it until the last game of the season or perhaps early next season. It'll definitely be fun watching him break into the top-10 of all-time, even if KD/Lebron knock him out in 7-9 years.

Dirk ties Havlicek. Tonight he should pass him for sole possession of #12.
Still, dude has to come out of this slump.
