Why is Haywood on the list but not Chandler?
Write-in votes never win.

I've never understood the yearly hand wringing about certain players being left off the ballot. If you don't have a big enough name to make the ballot you're not popular enough to win the fan vote anyway.

From my understanding...the list is made prior the season starting. How far before the start of the season, that I don't know. But it was at a point during the year where everyone believed Chandler was merely a bench player for the team.
And for write-in votes, that's true, but that's where the fan vote might not really mean anything. Players and coaches will recognize what Chandler has done. Now whether he does enough to merit being an All-star, that's still up for debate and it's still early.

It's still mind blowing that JET isn't on the ballot.

Now that's something I definitely don't have an answer for
The Chandler snuff was due to the timing...
The biggest snub has to be Paul Millsap.

Just voted. I feel awful because it was just my first time this year, but I'll try to be more consistent.
Which non-Mav did you vote for at the guard position? I went for DWill. He's a beast.

There's always a way to screw Dirk over from a starting spot on the All-Star team.
Duncan plays most of his minutes at the 4 for SA so thats acceptable.
F Gasol.

The problem is Yao keeps getting voted in no matter what, so those guys know the only chance they have is at PF. In a perfect world Gasol and Duncan would battle it out for starting center spot, and Dirk, Melo and Durant would compete for the forward spots.
Btw, i don't see how Duncan could play most of his minutes at PF when the only other front-court players they have are Blair and McDyess. I guess it's possible but it seems backwards.

pfft. K. This will define Dirk and his career... a bogus voting system. My bet is Dirk could give a shit less than I can about it.

Just voted Dirk, Kidd, Butler, and Chandler as a write in. My other guard pick went to Deron Williams, who is an absolutely beast, and the center position I left blank.

Disagree. If its true that the all-star ballots are made preseason, which is why Chandler isn't on there, then it makes sense. Before this year, Millsap has never been at an All-Star level. Terry has...he's won 6th man!

I don't care if players are left off the ballot if I could vote for who I want to vote for. They allow one write-in..
Typical NBA not really giving a crude what their customers want.. Like it's somehow hard to allow 5 write-ins...

The one good thing about working in a network server room, is there's a bunch of computers to vote from. Now if they would cooperate and quit trying to make me work while I'm voting.

Billups and Yao? Ugh. Ming gets all the freaking Chinese votes, so he doesn't need 'em, and Billups is a flopping punk. He reminds of Chris Paul, but not nearly as good. He's a chucker, too...he can hit shots, but when he's in a slump, his answer to fire up pull up fast break three pointers to break out of it. Oh, and he lives at the free throw line by accentuating contact.
Yeah, I really dislike Billups and his game. Doesn't help that he's plays in Denver.
Everything else I don't mind. Lewis is overpaid, but he's still a decent player, and I like Rondo and Boozer and Wall.
