GDT: San Antonio @ Dallas, 8:30 PM Central
Woohoo! Rabbit power! Not sure if Dirk is playing but this will be a toughy regardless. It's almost always a classic when we play our rivals and also an important game for standings even in December.
Should be a good test for our zone as San Antonio has the league's 4th highest scoring offense.

Gonna be very tough. If Dirk is out, it's gonna be even more difficult. The whole team needs to step up.

No, I don't believe that ever happened. They've had a couple games where they've beat us without 1 (or maybe even 2) of the 3, but never without all 3.
Mavs by 6 if Dirk plays and is close to 100%. Spurs by 10-12 if he doesn't.

Yeah, i'm almost sure that actually happened, but Ginobili, and Duncan sure didn't play, and not only that, they beat us by 15, or something like that, on our home court. At least that's how i recall it, i remember thinking how it was such an embarrassing loss.
I have a feeling though that we will pull this off. Chandler can defend Duncan as well as anybody, and Ginobili came back down to earth after that ridiculously hot start. Hopefully, we can slow them down. We are 7-0 against the top teams this year for a reason. This team is coming to play in the big games. Go Mavs!

It was a road game. Bald Spot played, but the other two were out.

Statement Game with or without Dirk. If without Dirk, I still believe we can pull this game off. looking forward to the guys bouncing back and having fun on the floor. You know Chuck is going to have a lot to say on TNT tonight.
Manu Ginobili likes to go LEFT!!!!!!!!

I guess i was wrong. Couldn't it be that we had a loss against them on our home court with two of those three out? Not that it matters much. Bald spot, lol.

The Spurs have not beaten us with all 3 out. They beat us once in SA with just Duncan out:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/...712050SAS.html
And they beat us another time in SA with Duncan and Gino out:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/...902240SAS.html
And then last season they beat us (as Dirka said) with Duncan and Parker out:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/...902240SAS.html
None of the three were at home, and none of the three were without all 3 guys, like I said.

I'd like it if they had Jones for this game. If they don't have Dirk and the team is looking flat like they did against the Raptors then it'd be nice to give him some minutes to try and pick them up.
But hopefully they don't look flat

Fish and Timmy Mac tweeting that Rick says Dirk is out tonight, but apparently Dirk still wants to try.
ESPN Dallas also reporting that the Spurs "fully expect" Dirk to play. No surprise there. That's Pop for ya.

MMB preview
Quote:
Dirk Nowitzki's status is still uncertain for the big match-up against the San Antonio Spurs. No matter who is on the court, the Mavericks will have their hands full with their I-35 rivals. The Spurs will come in to the American Airlines Center on Thursday night with the league's best record at 27-4. It doesn't matter if it's recognized by the NBA but the Mavericks/Spurs rivalry is right up there in terms of the game's best rivalry. The Texas showdown has added a new wrinkle this season as the Mavericks and the Spurs appear to have swapped their personalities.
Dallas has won four straight regular season games against San Antonio including five of the last six. The Mavericks have taken the last three meetings in Dallas and have won five of the last seven games at the American Airlines Center. Historically, the Mavericks are behind the Spurs in the all-time series at 62-83 but they have a chance to create a winning home record against the Spurs. All-time, the Mavericks are 36-36 in home games against the Spurs.

Will be tough without Dirk. I expect everyone to come out with a lot of more energy than against the Raptors (ok there was none, so easy). Marion and Butler need to step up!

With Dirk out this is a win-win unless our effort matches the Toronto game.

A win-win? There is no "win" if we lose. It's arguably neutral, or not really a big deal, but it's certainly not somehow a positive thing.

Mahimni with a Kevin Love type double double.
44 pts 39 rebounds. Take that to your oven and cook it.

WRONG!!!!!!!!! (lol, typical L-Dub not understanding anything about Basketball501...)
If we lose by the the right amount of points while the moon is at certain position in the sky, then we're likely to move UP in Hollinger's rankings (and that's just as important than winning a championship!)
Dummy.

Courtesy of @Mavstats,
Dirk Nowitzki has the second biggest deficit between the second leading scorer on his team (Jason Terry) 8.3
2. Toronto - Bargnani and DeRozan 8.2
3. NY Knicks - Stoudemire and Felton 8.1
4. Indiana - Granger and Hibbert 7.6
5. Denver - Anthony and Billups 7.4
