Not sure what you mean? You don’t think it was bad decision making to have him playing meaningless minutes at the end of the 3rd? I’d say it’s damn near malpractice. The only caveat being that it’s possible Luka runs the show and our coach is scared to take him out if he wants to play or “go for a triple double” or whatever. Either way, it reflects poorly on our coach at the very least. And very likely on Luka as well.

They had a shot at the 3rd seed
I don't think that was meaningless
Also, did you watch the Golden ST game?
Klay THompson was still playing in that game up til the 6 minute of the 4th QTR.
Which means both coaches Kidd and Kerr felt like it was very important to get that 3rd seed.

Yep, and I'm on the side of two coaches who have championship experience.

As if coaches don’t make bad decisions or emotional decisions or political decisions all the time. Even championship winning ones.

Dallas has already announced that Luka Dončić has a left calf strain and is not obligated, five days before Game 1, to publicly share details about today's MRI findings. So the wait for clarity on Luka's status for Saturday's Game 1 against visiting Utah is likely to continue.

They were playing for a shot at the 3rd seed and the chance to avoid Phoenix in round two, making a plausible path to the conference finals. That's the exact opposite of "meaningless."

Yea. The Kidd slander will not be tolerated.
In fairness, Luka just needs to land better.

At the point of the game Luka was injured, they were no longer realistically playing for the third seed. I’m not sure why people are having a problem acknowledging this.

How exactly were they not "realistically" playing for the third seed? Do we know that Kidd was getting real time updates on the score of the Warriors-Pelicans game? That seems unlikely.

Also no one mid game is in the thought process of F5 with a Warriors 20 point parameter, call timeout we have to sit Luka immediately to avoid injury. No one thinks like that. Should Luka sit for every game for the rest of his career when the Mavs ever build a 20 point lead again in the third quarter.

Absolutely true.
When he sits Luka for the game, people will say why, now he has too much of a break before the first round and will be rusty.
Hindsight is always easy.
He is young, he plays every game when he is healthy.
And to suggest stat padding with Luka is ridiculous.
He is absolutely no Westbrick!

Of course they were getting live updates. It’s important information and easy to get. There are so many instances of this happening at the close of seasons. Reporters ask coaches and players if they were aware of the score in the other important game, and they are like “of course.” Pinson already confirmed that the bench was aware. Harp and Folowill seemed to be surprised that the starters were still in to start the half. Brunson and Powell were already on the bench when Luka got hurt. Bullock came out with Luka, and Dorian didn’t play much longer. Starters didn’t play the fourth. At what point was it decided that the win was meaningless?
It’s fine. I’m actually not mad at Kidd. I just think it was a mistake. The arguments here seem pretty weak. “Maybe Luka was already hurt? Better now than later.” “Kidd was not even aware of the score.” These make Kidd seem worse.
