Agreed, but who holds that 2011 NBA championship?
This loss sucks but at the end of the day, this team won it all last year and to me it takes some of the sting off of this season.

I hope nobody is blaming this on "lockout ball"
This team has had plenty of rest the last few weeks, maybe too much vs too little.

I wonder what Deron thinks of what he's seeing.
Is it "this team is turrable, I'm not going there"
or is it "I can fix this team".

There are a lot of things wrong with this team, age being one of them. A presence at the rim like a marshmallow is another. Pnr defense is another and very little toughness is yet another.

Dirk should ask Cuban during the summer,... "are you in or are you out ?"
No more fooling around with false promises.... "The time WAS now".

I must admit I thought the "all in" on the shirts tonight was pretty ironic, since Cuban was obviously not "all-in" this year in competing for another ring.
Carlisle really taking a lot of the blame on himself in the presser. He and the players get a pass from me. But not cubes, he owns this cluster.

Don't know. Watching the team right now makes me feel even stronger about not bringing the band back.

There is only one band member that needed to be brought back. Players understand that the bottom of the roster gets turnover.
The team lost a large part of its soul without Tyson.

No doubt they would have been better. I mean by a lot.
But Dirk, Terry, Marion, Kidd... these are not the hungry players they were last year under the lockout/circumstances. Pretty much everybody has taken a step back and right now I can't see how Chandler would have turned this one from a possible sweep into a championship run.
In the end you can't rule it out though. With Tyson you're talking a higher seeding, no Odom distraction (because never traded), much better vibes.

I don't know about a championship run, but they wouldn't have laid down like they did tonight IMO. The center of our defense is as soft as a marshmallow. We lack the intestinal fortitude that Tyson brought last year. There is no defensive presence in the middle. I've always thought that strong teams need strong assertive bigs. The Mavs don't have a single one right now.
Including management would not have signaled that they were not serious about competing.

Man, I sure miss Chandler. Our defense looked more like a donut than a marshmellow. It had a huge hole in the middle too many times.
The West is tough, and this is not very fun to watch, but we did win it all last year in a non-asterisked season. I can still recall the feeling in the arena in Miami after the Mavs won game 6 as well as greeting the players and the trophy outside as the team boarded the buses. That was good stuff, and I'll remember it for the rest of my life.
I want us to play hard until the end.
