Lost’s Benjamin Linus Gets the Bobblehead Treatment

As any subscriber to Bobblehead Monthly will tell you, the apex of this decade's bobblehead movement was when NBC released the now-legendary Dwight Schrute edition. Since then, the industry has suffered from a clear-cut case of overexposure. That said, if we were heading to Comic-Con later this month, we'd definitely wait in line to get our mitts on one of these limited-edition Benjamin Linus bobbleheads. Although, we'd vastly prefer one of Frogurt. [Daily What]

Their last chance to deliver at Comic Con, and I have to say....they certainly did. Watch this video. Watch it the whole way through:

http://spoilertv-comiccon.blogspot.c...con-video.html

That certainly points in a very specific direction for season 6. But you know that's not the whole story.

I'm sure some of you will think this is spoilerific, so if you're sensitive.... Then again this is all so contradictory and such meaningless double talk...it certainly is intriguing, however.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...23294b40468d8b
Quote:

Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet Burke) and Jeremy Davies (Daniel Faraday) will be back on ABC's "Lost" next year, along with several other characters who haven't been seen since the first season, said producers at Comic-Con.

The revelation confirms reports that suggested a "Lost" reunion of sorts for the final season. In May’s finale, the castaways detonated a bomb on the mysterious island in hopes of resetting the last several years of their lives.

The items were among a scant few tidbits dropped during a well-produced hour in San Diego that featured several new mock "Lost"-verse ads and parody shorts, but no new video from the final season.

"There's a good chance you'll be seeing many characters you haven't seen since the first season again," said executive producer Damon Lindelof.
The final season, producers say, will in some ways resemble the first.

"(In the first season, the characters) were running around the jungle, things felt intense and surprising,” said executive producer Carlton Cuse. “We have a way that we're going to be able to do that in the final season too.”

Yet fans shouldn’t think that any sort of narrative reboot will invalidate everything that’s already happened, “because that would be a real big cheat,” said Jorge Garcia, who plays Hugo on the show.

“Just trust us,” reassured Cuse.

The show will also employ a new narrative device that’s unique to the final season.

"The time travel season is over, the flash forward season is over,” Lindelof said. “We're going to do something different."

Fans camped overnight to see the “Lost” panel, which occupied the fan convention’s largest ballroom that Comic-Con usually reserves for summer tentpole films.

The episode title for the two hour season premier has been supposedly confirmed to be, and this is really quite interesting....

"LA X"

And yes, the space between those letters is meant to be there.

Here's a harmless LOST note for you:

That creepy bald guy that played Doyle, "the puppet master" on Heroes is going to be on an episode of LOST in some capacity next season.

hey random thought that popped into my mind this past weekend:

could their be any correlation between shakespeare's "juliet" and her ill-timed fate and lost's "juliet" and her detonation of the bomb? am i reaching? if there is, in fact, a parallel- does that sawyer dies? or jack? or just that she thought they were already dead?

thoughts?

lol. Calm down.

If the plan worked, did she really die? She's not going to be on the show much next year because she's on a new ABC show, but she supposedly will be on LOST a time or two.

On the subject of sawyer or jack dying...I have a strong feeling that one of them will die at the end of the show. Somehow, I don't see Jack making it to the end, though I hope he does.

From E!Online:

Quote:
I'm hearing from Lost sources that every single shot of the first few episodes are so revealing that the producers have convinced ABC to NOT SHOW A SINGLE FRAME before the new season airs. No promo scenes, no photos, no nada! So you will be completely in the dark, but it is for good reason: The twists they're planning are so good, you will WANT to be surprised. Trust me.
That's cool I guess, but at the same time kind of disappointing. A promo would be welcome about now.

but really, in the past, what have the promos shown? All they need to do for me is show the LOST logo for a few seconds and i'll get that familiar sensation in my pants.

I guess.

But last year they had previews that showed Desmond in his radiation suit and the plane, and those were real WTF commercials for me for a while because we didn't know they were going to be skipping around in time like that.

Let's see...LOST.... Uhh...I heard recently that they will indeed take a break during the Olympics. So there's three weeks without LOST at least. Makes sense though, no network wants to waste ratings while Bob Costas is droning on about some Latvian figure skater (because somehow that equals ratings)

If they don't start until late January, I can't see how they'll air more than 2 episodes before the Games start up. Just a LOST teaser until they really get cranking in March?

I don't think everyone realizes that we are a mere 63 days away from Lost returning.

There are no commercials...no new footage...nothing. They have it all locked down.

What they do have is an official season 6 poster:

http://spoilertv.iimmgg.com/image/7e...f21e57b119c1d1

I don't really get why they have so many of those people on there, some of which are dead, and not Walt.

"oh that's walt"

Maybe they aren't dead now because the bomb destroyed the electromagnetic properties of the Island, thus the plane never crashes? I can't explain the Walt thing.

Since I'm currently following Roland and his ka-tet to the Dark Tower, I have been thinking a bit about Lost in the same context as Roland and Jake.

I wonder if they'll reset..but that everyone will remember everything, like Jake and Roland did, even after it didn't happen. I think the idea of resetting and not resetting would appeal to them. They're not going to abandon 5 seasons of character development completely.

Either that, or they'll show us what would have happened...? I can't imagine that they're going to abandon that whole scene with Richard and Sun and Ben and Fake-Locke by the statue with all of those new characters and whatnot. They have continue with that, right?

It sure is going to be interesting. No wonder they are locking down spoilers this year... The direction they take this can go so many different ways... perhaps several at a time like they did last year. But I have a feeling the reveal of where we go from here will provide light on the "end game" of the show.

I am pumped.

Here's a nice little article... link (the link contains a minor spoiler, I took it out of the text below)

Quote:
"Obviously, we have 18 hours over which to do the ending. I feel we have found the right pace," Lindelof continued. "You only have so much room in your stomach to eat, and you have to digest sometimes too. So we're trying to modulate the season so it doesn't feel like you're waiting, getting little meals, then you get one big meal. It's a flow of courses. You will probably get a little more than you were expecting a little sooner than you were expecting."

Since 'Lost's' premiere in 2004, the show has gone through five seasons of metaphors, islands sinking, smoke monsters, The Others, and walking dead men. Its final season begins reportedly in January. Now that the end is here, it feels "amazing," Lindelof says.

"I can't believe we're going to be able to end the show on our own terms," he says. "To be able to cancel something yourself is a rare treat in the TV biz. And there are no excuses. We get to do the ending on our own terms, and hopefully people will like it."

More 'Lost' dish came from Lindelof to other outlets:

To E! Online: "The questions that count will be answered, and the questions that the fans don't want answered won't be answered, but I think what they're looking for is a real sense of resolution, particularly on a character level. Who's going to live, who's going to die, who's going to hook up with who, why were they all brought here in the first place, was it arbitrary, is there meaning behind it? That's the kind of stuff [we] have to answer, or [we] should be prepared to get rocks thrown at [us]."

To TV Guide Magazine: "All I can say is that we've spent the last five years answering the question, 'Were you guys making it up as you go along?' 'Do you know what you're doing?' It's a great comfort to know that in about six months people will stop asking us that question. They'll basically say 'You were making it up as you go along,' or they'll go 'Wow, you really had a plan.'"

Lindelof also said: "What we don't want to do ... is explain what our intention was. At a certain point, it doesn't matter what our intention was, and we want the fans to vigorously debate certain aspects of the show. Some things will be very conclusive, other things people will think are more conclusive than we meant them and some will be more ambiguous than we meant them, but it wouldn't be Lost if five years from now people weren't still arguing over what they wanted it to be."

While we have some time on our hands...let's think of some spin-off possibilities...

I think we could see Rose and Bernard living in a high-rise in NYC. Their neighbors would be a upwardly mobile black couple that ran a dry-cleaning business. Their neighbors could have a maid named Florence and a son named Lionel. Just a random thought...

Quote:
TVGuide.com: With the final season of Lost approaching, what are you feeling?
Carlton Cuse: I think we're doing something new in this final season narratively, so we have that combination of fear and giddiness. The fear is, oh, what if people don't like it, what if the audience doesn't like what we're doing? The giddiness is, like, we always feel like we have to be bold with our show and if it works, and if people like it as much as we do, we feel like the final season will be a success. When there's a draw though, we stand by our decisions. We're not playing it safe in the final season.
Damon Lindelof: I think at this point, the nervousness is more based on how we're so deep into this season, that by the time the audience sees it, we're committed to our path. It's been like that ever since we started premiering in January and February. It's like it's too late to turn back now. We're feeling very confident about executing what our plan was, and that's all you can ever do.

TVGuide.com: What do you say to fans with such high expectations for your last season?
Cuse: I think it's like anything in life. I think that you have to have realistic expectations. We're going to do our best version of the show, but there's still going to be some mystery and magic and intentionally ambiguous things that emerge at the end of the show. We're going to answer questions, but at the same time, we're going to tell the story the way we want to tell it. We feel like, all we can do is make the version of the show that makes Damon and I happy. If we do that, hopefully enough people will like it.
Lindelof: Ditto.
What else can there be to do "narratively"?

Semi-Spoiler:

Friend sent me this...apparently it's a promo for the Final Season. I've been so busy at work, so apologies if you've seen this or if it has already been posted--didn't see anything here later than when the youtube vid was posted. Also haven't been able to confirm if this is indeed a real promo, but the production on the video seems very high, so I am assuming that it is.

Anyways, here it is boys and girls: http://bit.ly/5QiUWT

Edit: http://www.toplessrobot.com/2009/12/...t_what_the.php

Sigh, apparently it is not a real promo--it was fun/disturbing while it lasted.
