good lord, i was not about to try and read all that...

right now at work, i'm jamming to some dave matthews (crash), and i also brought in bob marley (legend). no country right now, rob, but i recently went on a trip, and willie nelson is the BEST driving music, no doubt about it.

but the extent of my country cds are willie nelson (greatest hits & one other cd), garth brooks (greatest hits), tim mcgraw (greatest hits). not much of a collection.

oh, and dj, that family values tour cd (with "outside&quot

is actually pretty good overall. it's got some good limp bizkit, filter, primus, and staind. but i hate korn. can't stand that crap. only song of theirs i even remotely like is freak on a leash.

and a cd i bought recently that is just awesome is coldplay (they sing that song "yellow&quot

. damn good cd.

Great choices. I also suggest "Troublesome '96" by 2Pac. It's an awesome song, and I think you can only find it off his greatest hits album.

that 2pac greatest hits is actually really good. one of the few rap cds i have. i like rap ok, i don't know why i don't have that many rap cds.

a lot of rap fans here...don't any of you guys listen to good ole hippy jam band music??? Not to say I don't still catch up on rap...still into Gang Star, De La Soul, Tribe and Outkast quite a bit, but my tastes have changed over the last 5 yrs or...so, here's some of my favorite bands these days:

Grateful Dead (really any Jerry Garcia will do)
North Mississippi All Stars
Leftover Salmon
String Cheese Incident
Phish
Moe
Jefferson Airplane
Larry

and on a little different tip, zeppelin, jimi, and mr. marley are all pretty good. This is what college did to me, not to mention hanging with a "mind altering" crowd. But I'm clean now...well, at least not in a permanent haze now...

i'm actually listening to the metallica black album right now at work. also brought in steve miller band greatest hits.

So, Crippler, you're one of those guys? please tell me you don't follow those bands all over the country. i like that music ok, but i think they have more obsessed fans than any other music genre.

nah...don't follow em all over the country. Only when they are in places that I can get to easily. Last summer, i lived in Taos, and caught the Panic at Red Rocks (3 shows), and River run in Keystone. Also went to Nashville and Memphis and caught them at Beall St. Festival. Of course, made the Dallas and Houston shows as well early last summer. I agree big boy that some of the fans are ridiculous and need to get a life, but to each his own. I do really enjoy the improvosational skills of these bands though not to mention the music rocks. The vibe at the shows is unbelievable (especially Red Rocks), so I can see why some people do follow them. A few of my good friends spent all last summer on tour, but I couldn't do it full time.
