Did anyone watch the Man vs Wild with Will Ferrell on it?
Say what you will about Man vs Wild and the authenticity of the show...I was glued to the television. I found it fascinating to see a big A-list actor in that situation.

recorded it, but haven't watched yet. Been dealing with swim lessons all week, so TV watching has taken a hit. I have to get my priorities back in order.

My wife recorded it for me, and I watched it late last night. Good Stuff in a Will Ferrell kinda way.
Now I'm trying to get caught up on the "Burn Notice" marathon...my DVR is recording all day, leading up to the season premier tonight.
With the Rangers playing a day game....looks like I will get to watch the marathon and skip the commercials!!! Gotta love DVR!!!
But ya, Mav v Wild with Will Ferrell was pretty cool!!!
Gotta run, it's lunch-time and I'm in the mood for some eyeballs.

I've recently started tivo-ing the original Star Trek series. I really didn't see that many episodes as a kid.
Captain Kirk sure got alot of outer space nookie.

Hell yeah, he did.
My wife recently said she wants to watch all of those, so I have been doing the same thing. I've got about 15 now on the DVR we need to start watching.

just finished this past season of Friday Night Lights. I love the show, just had them waiting on the TiVo as other things (like LOST) took priority.
what an amazing season. a tremendous rebound from season 2 (which wasn't bad, just had bad storylines. The acting was still top notch).
And i'll go ahead and say it - coach and mrs. coach are the best husband/wife in TV history. EVER.

^ I agree, such a big improvement over the drama-filled season 2. I'm glad the show was picked up for next year.

Not sure if they moved them to Blu Ray, but they had the series on HD DVD a couple of years ago. It's not 16:9 but it looks amazing.

Did anyone else watch the series finale for Pushing Daisies? I thought it was a fitting end, a bit rushed but what can you expect.
I was hoping for a resolution that would allow Chuck and Ned to be able to touch. But oh well.

That's what my wife and I were hoping for as well, but they addressed everything BUT that.
It was hasty and thrown together last minute and I just felt bad for them. They tried to tack on a satisfying epilogue to a regular episode and they did what they could.
Good show. Sad to see it go. The fact that I can't see Charlotte Charles on TV any more makes my pants droop.

I started watching The Wire this week. I saw the first 7 episodes. I'm liking it. Although I think that McNulty wouldn't realistically have his kids be in that environment. That is just stupid. I have a sneaking suspicion that is going to come back to haunt him somewhere in the future (and don't spoil me, I'll just let it play out).
Bubbs(I think that's his name) is a great character. As is Lester. I have a feeling D is going down, but I like his character. So far it's really good.

Aaaah..another satisfied Wire customer (so far).
I love Bubbs. I almost had to stop listening to Bill Simmons' podcasts when he described Bubbs as his least favorite character on the show.

I never know what station anything is on unless I'm sitting right in front of my tivo. It comes on TVLAND and KFWD. Unfortunately, it looks like my Family Guy season pass has been preempting my Star Trek Season Pass. Family Guy is about to get a demotion.

Welcome to the club!
By the way, slow down a little. Let the episodes sink in...

Just finished Breaking Bad Season 2 and it lived up to the hype. The early episodes were slow and deliberate but the pace picked up along the way leading to a season finale that was probably the best episode yet IMO. Can't wait for next season.

True Blood - okay, I think its kinda stupid - but there's just not that much on tv right now.
Nurse Jackie - Its decent. Edie Falco does a great job. I don't expect it to stick around very long. The supporting cast and overall premise seem kinda weak.
Hung - I watched the pilot. I liked it just enough to watch it again next week and that's about it.
Weeds - damn that show has gotten dark.

I knew we were in for a dark season after Nancy got F'd in the A at the end of the 2nd episode (multiple entendre!)

I tried Nurse Jackie for awhile. It's so unrealistic, poorly written, and poorly acted. I turned it off during the second episode.

And yes, poorly written and unrealistic can be a little redundant..but, I was talking about the dialogue when I said "poorly written".

Breaking Bad is such a good show. The only thing I **hate** about Cable shows is the weird start times on their "seasons"... it is just getting too damn hard to figure out when a show is on hiatus, etc nowadays.

I like True Blood a lot. Why do you think its kind of stupid? It's highly regarded as show, and has won several awards.

True Blood is a lot better this season. A lot more things are happening.
Weeds has lost almost all of its comedy so I just don't really watch it anymore. It should have ended last season.

Alright, I'm all caught up on Fringe. Aaaand it's a pretty freaking good show.
I'd like to thank both of you for your spoiler-free conversation here.
I agree that Dunham will be back where she's supposed to be, and that final shot was incredible.

For the most part, the characters are pretty one-note and the writers rely heavily on stereotypes to flesh them out (black, gay, southern, vampire, religious...you name it).
Some of the action that happens is pretty ridiculous. The scene in season 1 where Sookie saves Bill comes to mind.
Its also quite campy. Almost every episode could be titled "Cool Things that Vampires Do". Look at the vampire run really fast! Look at the vampire feed! Look at the vampire tear the human apart! Look at Bill overreact! Look at the vampire explode! Did we mention vampires run fast? Not that I mind campy tv - but shows shouldn't simultaneously be campy AND take themselves too seriously.
Finally, and probably most importantly, the main two characters are probably the least interesting on the entire show. Sookie is the Sarah Jessica Parker of that series and she's involved in a "romance" that I couldn't possibly care less about. I think the writers can be blamed for that one. Its their job to make me care....and they haven't done it.
Other than that, its a decent timewaste on a Sunday night.

Agree on Tru Blood. I'm watching season one right now and although I'm going to see it through I wouldn't be terribly upset and all the DVD's were destroyed and I could never find out what happens.
Anybody watch Season 1 of Sons of Anarchy? DVD's coming out in August and I'm trying to decide if I should add them.

So... I finished S1 of The Wire last week and started S2 today. I'm so confused by it all.
I honestly thought the ending of S1 was weak, although it was a fun ride. Kind of Heroesish to me in that it was a fun beginning and a disappointing ending. But episode 1 of S2 is just so confusing to me. What the heck?

Hmmm. I don't get the ending being weak.
Season 2 absolutely throws you for a loop. Just stick with it.
The seasons of The Wire are very much stand alone entities. Obviously the major characters and some major plot lines carry over. But significant times passes between each season. It is a little jarring at first. And the change of locales for season two just adds to the effect.

The end of season 1 was weak? I've lost alot of respect for U2. I suppose I shouldn't have had much respect to begin with considering his name..
