Default Miller's replacement.

Well Carl English isn't a star player, and probably won't even start. But I'm a Hawaii fan, so i gotta support him.

First Game in Rocky Mountain Revue Sunday vs. Denver
English Signed as Pacers
Set for Summer League Opener
By Conrad Brunner

English
Indianapolis, July 18, 2003 - Carl English has demonstrated to the Pacers he has the ability to become an NBA shooting guard. The chances he’ll do just with in Indiana got a little stronger Friday.
The Pacers announced they had signed English, a 6-5 undrafted free agent from the University of Hawaii. A native of St. John’s, Newfoundland, who averaged 19.6 points as a senior, English will join five other players, including 2002 first-round pick Freddie Jones and 2003 second-round pick James Jones, on the Pacers’ combined entry in the Rocky Mountain Revue, a summer league in Salt Lake City, UT, that commenced Friday.
“Carl English definitely is a shooting guard in this league,” said assistant Dan Burke, who will lead the Pacers’ coaching contingency in the summer league. “He has good size, good strength, he’s tough and he can shoot the ball with deep range. He’s definitely work a look. He’ll land a job somewhere.”
The Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers will combine to fill one roster. Other Pacers representatives are forwards Jermaine Dearman (Southern Illinois) and Hiram Fuller (Fresno State) and center Jason Keep (San Diego).
They open summer league play Sunday at 9 p.m. against Denver. The other games come Tuesday against Portland (3 p.m., NBA TV); Wednesday against San Antonio (7 p.m.); Thursday against Dallas (5 p.m., NBA TV); and Friday against Utah (7 p.m., NBA TV).
Burke, who supervised the team’s rookie and free agent camp earlier this month, was impressed by the overall talent level of the prospects the Pacers are sending to Salt Lake City.

J. Jones
“Hiram Fuller is very intriguing. He’s long and athletic, has some offensive skills inside and has a nose for the ball as a rebounder,” Burke said. “And I like James (Jones). It’s amazing that some of these players weren’t drafted and James was available when we picked (at No. 49 overall.
“James has good shooting ability and a strong work ethic. He has a no-nonsense approach to the game.”
Freddie Jones, the No. 14 overall pick two years ago, played sparingly as a rookie. Burke plans to take a long look at the former Oregon star, possibly at both guard spots.
“He’s got a good feel for and understanding of the game,” Burke said. “We just need to take the reigns off and let him play. We want to see him in good shape, see him shoot the ball well and see him bring the ball up and get us in the offense.”
English played three seasons at Hawaii and averaged 13.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in 94 games. He finished his collegiate career seventh on Hawaii’s all-time scoring list with 1,259 points. He holds the single-season record for most 3-pt FGM (89) and ranks second in school history in 3-pt FGM (162), fourth in 3-pt FGA (414) and fifth in 3-pt FG percentage (.391).
