Default PGT: OT and an egg

Mavs tried and lead all game until the fourth. Tied after four. Lost after an extra 5

Tired legs tomorrow

Our defense is BAD. Lost us that game.

The Mavs had some tough breaks. Lebron knocks someone over, waits to see if he gets called for a foul, passes out to JR Smith who makes a 30 foot 3-pointer. I feel like that happened a couple of times, and I'm not blaming the refs, just unlucky the cavs made threes every time a foul wasn't called.

That closing lineup defense was bad. Zaza was a monster in the paint and sat the entire OT. Will never understand Rick at times.

Giving up 17 offensive rebounds was the killer. Yeah, long threes by the Cavs, questionable calls by the refs, blah blah blah. Letting them have 4 chances on a single trip down the court was the dagger.

Turned out well for them but I thought that was a really stupid play by LeBron...giving up an uncontested 12 ft shot for a 30ft three.

I'm not sure how you say the defense is bad. We held them to 41.9% shooting. At times, the defense was awesome against Lebron. You aren't going to stop him the entire game. And Kyrie and Love both were held to very bad percentages. That is a championship contending team. We were literally a rebound away from winning the game. I just don't see anything to be too upset about ... other than those damned 17 offense rebounds.

I thought Parsons played pretty good D early but we simply have no answer for strong SFs. Tomorrow night will be another challenge in that area.

The Cavs went small. I actually think Rick waited too long to match them.

This game is a good reminder that the Mavs are almost a good team.

Kyrie made the shot.

I just don't understand statements like this. Mavs are not as good as 4 teams: CLE, GSW, SAS, and OKC. Any other team in the league, they are arguable just as good or better. And all this coming off a crazy first half of the season as far as player lineups. Just try to see what this team could do come playoff time and having a full season to gel together.

I guess Evans, Simba, and Powell will play a lot tomorrow? Because it's still a head scratcher that every game we roll out one small guard after another, and if it doesn't work then oh well... and in a game where we lost the TO battle and gave up way too many offensive boards... Just seems there may be a connection...........

I know no team uses the whole bench but ugh... Rly wish the backup pg mins went to more of a hot hand approach so we could get someone like Evans in for a game where we are drilled on boards, or Anderson to get some burn.
Cavs 97 shots
Mavs 79 shots

Mavs finally get up for a top team. They still aren't good enough to beat them though. That's a decent team. Nothing more nothing less. 7 seed with the outside shot of 6th seed. Hopefully surprise thunder in first round.

Too many areas of weakness to be a consistent team right now

Raptors, Heat, Hawks, Clippers.

If we're talking 7 game series, I say the Mavs are a top 10 team right now. They aren't quite there yet

You're right. I feel like JR made some lucky shots earlier, but it was Kyrie who made the 30 footer late.

3-4 this month with the team struggling mightily to beat the Kings and could have easily lost to Minnesota. I'm just not confident in the team's ability to win games.

I am seeing more signs of chemistry in the starting unit (esp Parsons), but they definitely aren't there yet.

Well that was a kick in the nuts.
Cavs had 34 bench points - Mavs had 24
and ugh with the 16 TO
AND they shot the ball 18 more times than us!

It was the layups. At least it felt like it. Especially when we played small. Other than that I agree mavs contested most of the outside shots well

This tweet sums it up:

Tim Cato: Mark Cuban says the Mavericks are “good enough to beat any team in the league” but not good enough to take any nights off
