This was possibly the worst hitting performance ever in a postseason game.
Yes, I know there is a no-hitter and a perfect game to compete with, but the Yankees struck out in half of their at-bats. 30 hitters, 15 strikeouts. 2 weak hits and a questionable walk from perfection.

I know it didn't turn the game around, but scoring six runs in the 9th is decent payback for the five runs the Yanks scored in the 8th of Game 1.

This game tonight was the absolute best sports moment I have had since the game 2 win in the NBA Finals. Just an amazing feeling right now. If we win ONE start out of Hunter, CJ, or Lewis the Yankees get to face Lee in game 7. Here is hoping we win 2 of those and then we can set Lee up for game 1 in the World Series, but I just want another outing for this machine. He absolutely MUST be paid WHATEVER the hell he wants. Blank check Nolan... Blank check...

Hay guys, just wanted to see how the Rangers were doing this year. Is Kenny Rogers still tearing it up?

The top of the 9th was so much fun it made the bottom of the 9th an irritating formality. I was glad that Lee could sit in the dugout and be sure of his W without having to go back out there. He deserves that run support for sure.
Oh and by the way... f^&k the cocky faced Nick Swisher. f^^k robinson cano. F all those arrogant f%^ks.

If I could give you 10 positive reps for those last 4 sentences I would. I HATE the BS where they expect all of the calls to go their way. They basically have 6 or 7 Ian Kinsler's in that way. One for us is hard to handle from me - how do their fans stomach it? Oh yeah, they are all big fat used douche bottles as well.

I honestly don't know how anyone roots for them at all.
Do they ever smile when they do something good? Is cocky and brooding fun to watch? Is smugness something to which young people should aspire?
They are everything that is wrong in sports. They are a disgusting conglomeration of talent acquired at great cost. Not a team. I hate them.

So here's my project for the next four months. My wife is five months pregnant with our third (and last) child. And we just found out today that it's a boy. And it's been decided for years before this that if we had another boy his middle name would be Lee, after both of my wife's granddads.
So....you see where I'm going here.....
I HAVE to convince her to name this boy Cliff....or Clifton....or Clifford...or SOMETHING that can be shortened to Cliff!!!! Right?!?!
This must happen. I shall be relentless.

SWEET Game last night........
Intentionally walk Murphy only to watch it backfire...........Love it.
Texas needs to jump on Burnett today and get 3. I'd love the Rangers chances with NY having to beat CJ, Lewis, and Cliff "Freakin" Lee -- all in a row.
I am not saying NY couldn't do it -- I don't want to temp Karma (I saw the Mavs championship series) --- but I sure would like their chances at that point.

If anybody deserves a blank check it would be CL
Nolan Ryan declared him to the most consistent pitcher he has ever seen last night... With that being said, is there any chance the Rangers will not sign Cliff this off season?.... I'm sure the Yanks are salivating at another chance of acquiring Cliff

Absolutely!!! If we simply win ONE game between Hunter, CJ, or Lewis they get Lee again. Hopefully we win tonight against NY's scapegoat and either CJ or Lewis closes it out so Lee can get prepared for game 1 against Philly/SF (should be Philly).

Instead of going with some version of Cliff, go with Lee... There thousands of kids named "Ryan" after Nolan Ryan.. You should use the last name.
And yes, I would have definitely pitched Lee in the 9th if it was still 2-0. I don't think 10-15 pitches really makes that much of a difference with a guy like Lee.

My older son is named after my older brother...my youngest son is named "Ryan" after Nolan Ryan.
No doubt, this shall be the year of the "Lee" babies!!! It's destiny!!!

Could always go with: Lee Ryan Thiglet, Ryan Lee Thiglet, Clifton Ryan Thiglet, Ryan Clifton Thiglet, Cliff Nolan Thiglet, Nolan Lee Thiglet, Nolan Cliff Thiglet.
You could mix in Nolan and Cliff's middle names..
Cliff Lynn Thiglet, Lynn Lee Thiglet, Lynn Phifer Thiglet....
Just some suggestions.

Yes it is... The big man says he will remain loose and goofy. Here is hoping loose and goofy moves us into a 3-1 series lead (and what should have been a series sweep if not for one single inning).

Among other possible reasons, Kerry Wood has a history of pretty bad injury problems (he was a really dominant starting pitcher early in his career). Over the last 4 or 5 years he has more games played than innings pitched (iow, he pitches less than 1 inning per outing, on average). He's just not a guy you can ask to throw many pitches during a game.
