Default Neew Jersey Nets : 22 game winning streak?

The Nets, needless to say, are plain hot with a 14-game winning streak and as I looked at their remaining games:

Sat 8 Cleveland
Sun 9 @ Milwaukee
Tue 11 @ Chicago
Wed 12 Philadelphia
Fri 14 @ Boston
Sun 16 Boston
Tue 18 @ Philadelphia
Wed 19 New York

Other than the B2B's, I'd say all those games are in favor of the Nets. I don't think many people predicted the Nets to win 50+ games at the start of the season. Well, they are currently at 46 and I have no reason to doubt that they won't.

I don't think Miami will get a freeride to the conference finals like many think they would. With all the injuries that they sustained, I think we might even see a Nets-Pistons conference finals.

What do you think?

They should win those 8 regardless of B2B's.. It won't matter though.

I'll bet there hasn't been another team in NBA history to have two 12+ game win streaks in the same season and still win fewer then 55 games (or 60 for that matter). This has been a strange team.

They have played a bunch of sub par teams and barely beat them over this stretch. They Played Dallas without th e4 injured. They bet down Detroit and Miami. Detroit is a good win, but Miami just sucks. Give them credit just like the Mavs streak and yes they are hot, but not that big a deal. They barely beat some really bad teams in that stretch as well.

Doesn't matter who you beat, when you win 12 in a row that's impressive. Most long win streaks are built on the back of bad teams. Thing is, even bad teams have players like Jason Richardson and Ray Allen who can get hot and beat you.

Sounds like the only streak that would be a big deal is if a team beat SA, Dallas and Det? consecutivly four times in a row.

Really,. how impressive is it. Detrit did it, Dallas did it, SA has either done it or come close, Phx got close. Good job to the Nets. I just don't put much stock in it. Same as I did with the Mavs.

I believe the Nets and the Mavs are the only teams to get to 12. It's kind of an arbitrary number but the fact that SA, Det or PHX haven't been able to do it tells me that it may be tougher then you think. Those teams have had soft patches in their schedules too.

You can only beat who is on the schedule. The longest winning streak of the season is impressive no matter who you are playing.

I don't think they will, but if they go into the playoffs with a 22 game winning streak that will be a HUGE story.

Nets are playing great. At some point you knew things would click but I didn't think it woudl result into a 12 game winning streak. Especially how soft they are at the 4 and 5. That still could come back to bite them in the ass in the playoffs. Mourning and Shaq are no joke.

I wouldn't be at all shocked to see Jersey representing the East in the Finals.. actually, they're the team that would make for the most entertaining Finals, as far as the East's representation is concerned..

They might do it, but it still won't matter.

They'll lose to the Heat in the first round.

At least there's one team in the East that will keep Detroit from "Cake Walking" right into the NBA Finals...

The Heat won't beat NJ.

NJ- Better Coach
NJ- Better PG

Shaq and Co. won't be enough...

The Nets don't have a good enough front line to stop the Heat.

Do they really need a good front line if they simply run the Heat out of the game? Shaq cannot keep up to the play in a fast paced game. Now they don't have Zo to back up Shaq. It could be a problem in the playoffs if Zo does not return.

Dwade has been way too good for the Heat. I think the Heat will go out with a bang. The Nets have some great swingmen and Kristic has been playing some great basketball, but the party is over when they meet the heat.

More Nets trivia from Elias:

Jason Kidd had a triple-double, Vince Carter scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Nenad Krstic posted 20 points with 11 boards in New Jersey's victory over Milwaukee. It was the second game this season in which a Nets player had a triple-double while two others had at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kidd, Carter and Richard Jefferson combined to do it vs. Chicago on Nov. 5, but prior to that, no NBA team had done that in a regulation game since Dec. 8, 1989, when Larry Bird posted a triple-double, Robert Parish had 38 points and 12 rebounds, and Kevin McHale scored 20 points with 12 rebounds for Boston (against Denver).
