Your logic is completely inane. It does matter because it COULD HAVE hurt us and HAS HURT US in the past. Just because it didn't today doesn't mean it's savvy coaching.

Complaining about something that's working beautifully--as it's working, no less--carries with it the implicit assumption that Carlisle would do the same thing in a future game at a time when it wouldn't work. You mistakenly assume that the coach is incapable of reading individual game situations differently and making decisions based on what he sees. I cannot think of one game this season where Dirk sat that long during that stretch of a game without being in foul trouble. And yet you're complaining about it like there's some sort of precedent.
